Indefinite Las Vegas Raiders thread (2 Viewers)

So what were the injuries the Raiders had ? someone on FB mentioned a lot

The injuries were plentiful yesterday: Adam Butler, Kolton Miller, Nate Hobbs, Andrus Peat, Cody Whitehair, Harrison Bryant all went out at one point or another. Minshew was showing discomfort in his shoulder during the game as well.

THEY DID IT!

whoever made the call to hire getsy…we’re watching you too. I wonder if it was mostly mark or Tom. And how much did AP want him?

Damn, they fired the OC, the QB Coach and the OL Coach. Who is left to take over the offense?
I think that's the point, can't let anyone in to **** up the tank. They didn't fire Scott Turner though, so he's probably auditioning for the slide-in OC spot next year.

Tavita Pritchard is my dark horse external candidate for OC next year. We're not gonna get a hot candidate so we have to hope to catch fire on a next-gen version. He was QB coach with Howell when he blazed a nice 2023 season out of nowhere and WAS kept him around under Kingsbury so they must have liked what they saw - and now look what Daniels is doing too. How much of that is Pritchard remains to be seen but I wouldn't hate this one.

We have interesting internal guys too. Cadillac Williams, Edgar Bennett, and Scott Turner have all had OC consideration (Bennet actual experience for a couple years) and old Joe Philbin to maybe act as guide/mentor? Again, we're not going to get a hotshot OC candidate come into this **** show of firing guys in their first two years so we have to dig a bit deeper and hope we don't hit coal.

Might we get a reclamation project? Brian Daboll will probably be available, could we back up a Brink's truck and an early QB candidate of his choice to entice him to come to Vegas? Sign me up for that. I want to say the same about Doug Peterson but man they have been a disaster over there with a much better QB than should be 2-7.

And the race to tank is on. NOS fire Dennis Allen and anyone 2-7 should be doing the same. Interesting to watch this though, as both NYG and JAX are not known for in-season moves but at this point you probably have to get your tank on don't you if you're those teams? I think only Stefanski is safe from that tier, that Watson debacle isn't on him and they are stuck with Watson's contract for two more years so don't bring in a new guy and saddle him with that.

Well they should have a top 5 pick QB, so that's one enticing thing.

As much as I hate to say this and do this again, the best move is probably to fire AP and hire a young offrensive guy and move heaven and earth to get whichever rookie QB he think is the best. I'm hoping that's Cam Ward.

I have no interest in the internal guys and I don't want Philbin mentoring anyone. The Daboll option would not be a bad way to go. I've been saying for years that Pederson might be the worst coach to win a superbowl and just got incredibly lucky and I would have wanted nothing to do with him even before this Jacksonville stint and certainly not now.

I approve this message.

Getsy was a desperation hire. When Kingsbury walked it put us in a very bad spot where pretty much anyone good already had a home. Getsy was the last guy standing after a game of musical chairs.

I like that Daboll thought.

Was Minshew just yanked? Not injured?

Was Minshew just yanked? Not injured?
i think he was dinged up
Oh. Ok.
You didn’t expect me to actually watch this crap, right? ;)
I watched the entire second quarter. This team could and should lose out. Keep Getsy to make sure that happens.
So much for that.

Getsy Gone
The play calling was horrendous so I get why the guy was fired but LV better not put anyone competent in his place. This team needs to lose out to try to get lucky and find a real QB and fill the talent gap. Sometimes it feels like the Raiders only have 10 guys on the field on O and D. It’s almost like the Raiders haven’t been drafting very well for the last 20 years.

Man, everyone on this board knew he was bad hire from the minute he was announced. I wonder what the players thought.
How could many, if not most, of the fans know that Getsy was awful but our fearless leaders think it was the right move. It’s hard to know if an unknown is going to be good but Getsy proved his incompetence already. LV is one of the most poorly run teams in the NFL.

I agree in principle but I believe second chances... But I absolutely believe in a few years of a demotion to get more experience before said second chance.

Getsy must be a hell of an interview.

After watching a lot of college football this year I just don't see a QB of the future, maybe Ward can be that guy but outside of that it's a bleak year to need a college QB

I wonder how much of Getsy being canned was on Brady's recommendation. :ponder: He's had three weeks or so of watching this train wreck. $335 million should give him a fair amount of say.
I'm hoping he'll be as hands-on as he can and maybe this was the start of it.

Yet 5 will go in the top 15.
Give it a few months. The Shedoer Sanders hype train will eventually ramp up to a fever pitch and the Raiders will do the most Raider thing and draft him top 5ish. It’s almost a guarantee.

Have you watched him play? I'm all in for this. He looks really good.

10. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Height: 6-2 | Weight: 215

With pinpoint accuracy, toughness in the pocket and field vision that allows him to make plays to every level of the field, Sanders has emerged as the class's top quarterback. He has turned the ball over more this season (6 INTs), but Sanders is playing with better pocket poise and timing. He's completing 72.2% of his passes and is tied for fifth in the country in touchdown passes (19). There will be time for Sanders to clean up some of his bad habits -- throwing late over the middle and holding onto the ball for too long -- but his accuracy and ability to make off-platform plays from different arm angles pushes him to QB1.

12. Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Height: 6-2 | Weight: 223

Ward has taken an elite jump since transferring from Washington State. He's the national leader in passing yards (2,538), touchdown throws (24) and throws of 20-plus yards (45). His ability to move around the pocket, dial up fastballs and threaten as a runner have combined to make him the biggest riser at QB this season. Multiple scouts told me Ward is QB1 in the class. For me, he's at No. 2 right now, as I'd like to see him cut down on some frantic decisions he makes under pressure. But he's moving up the board by the week.

34. Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama*

Height: 6-2 | Weight: 225

The development of Milroe over the past calendar year has been amazing. He transformed from a run-only QB early in his career to a viable dual-threat to now a legitimate NFL prospect. Milroe still has some big misses due to footwork issues, but he has shown an ability to dial up soft touch on deep passes while still carving up defenses with his legs. Milroe has speed and power as a runner that opens up the offense for creative playcallers. He has 13 touchdown passes, six interceptions and 11 rushing scores this season.

They go in the top 15 cuz you MUST find your franchise QB to compete. Swing and miss? So be it but get right back to the well and draft another.

I didn’t mean to sound negative. I’ve seen him play a few times, he does have a strong arm. And seems to be pretty accurate. I wouldn’t be mad if they drafted him.

He has a good overall offensive philosophy, but he flat out refuses to tweak his plan at all to suit the talents/skills of the players that run it. And he was a horrible in-game playcaller.

The worst though....Game after game after game of watching him try and make Justin Fields play like circa-2010 Aaron Rodgers was beyond frustrating.

So is Crosby for sale?

No. **** no.
And the reason why is that if you can draft a rookie that has some kind of positive spark (Nix, Maye…and this Daniels kid who I hear is halfway decent) then you want to start competing ASAP with that QB under a rookie contract with some good pieces around him. Maxx Crosby’s don’t grow on trees.

Prime Maxx is worth more than all but about a small handful of 'franchise' QBs in the league right now. His combo of leadership and production is at another level than just about any other player in the league. Certainly more than any other non-QB. The only non-QB I'd put at his level is TJ Watt.

Obviously fans don't want to. But do you think the Raiders GM will do it?

Everything is for sale, it's just a matter of negotiating price.

I would hate to lose Maxx but I would be happy for him if he got traded somewhere and won a Super Bowl. That guy deserves a ring and I am...highly skeptical that will happen during his time with the Raiders.

Honestly, for his sake I hope they trade him to Detroit. Y'know, one of those "Save yourself!"/"Go on without me!" situations.

Even if Telesco wanted to... which I don't think he does or is his MO.... it is maybe the one thing that I think Davis would step in and squash.
