I agree QB is a great place to go with the 7th pick if any of the players are worthy of the selection. I don't see why any of these players are. I'd prefer the Bucs not end up like Oakland, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Tennessee, or Minnesota who have wasted early picks reaching for QBs who can't play in the NFL. They already made the mistake with Josh Freeman and it has cost the franchise 5 bad seasons now.

Safety really doesn't make much sense and the Bucs took a safety 7th two years ago. Corner isn't a glaring need. I wouldn't mind one of the OTs. The Bucs haven't taken an offensive lineman early in the draft since Davin Joseph, and it has shown. WR seems obvious. VjAx aging. Mike Williams being a knucklehead.

Look at the cap hell that Detroit is in right now. Taking a QB and missing early isn't nearly as traumatic as it once was.

It's not traumatic on the cap anymore, but it is traumatic on your team's chances of winning.

I'll give a little on a player like Manziel. Despite his flaws, that guy can flat out play. The sell out problem would disappear the day after he was drafted. He'd make enough plays to be competitive even with the mistakes the team would have to endure.

I just don't think Manziel fits Lovie's or Tedford's style, so I can't see them drafting him.

Depends on who is there but seems unlikely. This draft is super loaded, going to be hard for any teams to give up their premium picks.

Nice to see former Bucs GM Mark Dominik land on his feet, after all those years serving the Glazers. I think he gets far too much criticism now that he and Schiano got run out Tampa.

It doesn't, but I imagine you can cherry pick clips of the best LTs in the game and find them making mistakes against guys like Julius Peppers and Cameron Wake.

All offenses are running those short throws and screens. Tedford's offense certainly will.

That B/R report makes Collins look like a weak sister for sure, instead of an up and coming tackle. You should be seeing some red flags in that he's 28 yo and never had a full time role on his own team, and not rated very highly on the free agent listings for tackles. I'm not very happy about Penn signing with the Raiders, b/c he's a turstile in pass pro, but could at least run block well. But I think swapping him out for Collins may not be the upgrade you think he is. That and the Michael Johnson DE move are head scratching moves imo.

The Cowboys chose not to re-sign him after the 2012 season and he signed a one-year deal with the Raiders last offseason. In 15 starts in Oakland, Jenkins had 65 tackles, six passes defended and two interceptions. And now he's joining the Bucs, who through the first two weeks of free agency have made themselves relevant in the NFC South.

Of course, there are no trophies for offseason roster-stacking. Put another way: While adding warm bodies looks good in March, we'll know a lot more in September and October. Jenkins joins a secondary that includes Verner, Johnthan Banks, and safeties Dashon Goldson and Mark Barron.

This defense is rounding into form. The sting of losing Revis has healed a bit.

Jenkins should be a good slot corner around your starting CB's. Very reasonable price for solid depth.

that's exactly where he should be installed. He's ok, not good, not bad. A better player than the peanuts the Bucs are paying him. He's not a glaring weakness to be expolited, so your defense just got tougher to expose. he's a role player and will play his position well. Also Lovie's version of the tampa two should minimize his weaknesses.

Yup. I like Bridgewater a lot, even to move up for him.

I like Carr but not at 7. If they went down to the teens for him I would be happy with that.

Don't like Bortles at all. Gonna bust IMO.
