This might be the only thing that can keep Brett off the field.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Favre family.

 was his dad on the Oline? I am confused .
no man. farve's head's not gonna be in the game now. and the offense could take a hit as a result. who knows maybe this upgrades green somewhat. guess we'll just have to see. i don't see him missing the game though.

I would be stunned if Favre plays a day after his father dies unexpectedly. Very sad news.

I just checked the local news sites in Wisconsin and they don't have anything on this yet. If this is true, it is a sad day for all those that knew Irv Favre and his family. I would bet that Favre will play tomorrow but if he doesn't I completely respect that decision.

I am finding no verification of this news anywhere, including on the WTMJ web site.Maybe this is a "funny" post by a guy playing Favre tomorrow.

My brother in Milwaukee just called and said it is now being reported as breaking news on TV in Milwaukee. Apparently, he had a stroke in the car and only passed away just a few hours ago in the hospital. This is terrible news.

At this point, if this occured in the afternoon, wouldn't this be on the AP wire and wouldn't Joe have said something tonight during the game telecast.

Sorry I didn't have a link, (still don't.) Thanks to Carl for somewhat verifying it. Bill Michaels (TMJ sports guy) broke into the game and announced the heart attack/ car accident that led to his death.Hopefully they were wrong.

Thanks. As I wrote, I called my brother to see if he heard anything and only 5 minutes later he called back and said they broke in on a comercial to break the news about Irv Favre. It will not be long before we see the news.

FWIW - I just spoke with a friend who works for the Green Bay Press-Gazette...the news was confirmed by a local reporter named Pete Dougherty.

Lets all send our thoughts and prayers to the Favre family. I have him going tomorrow and need him, but whatever he chooses is right for him is much more important than a FF game.

What awful news for Brett, his family and Packer fans everywhere. No way Favre plays as I'm sure he wants to get home to be with his family at a time like this. Prayers go out to them.

talk about some bad timing. i posted this:

see he ain't dead. everybody crying for nothing.
at the except same time the other guy posted this:

if you want me to delete my post i'll have no problem with that.

Not that any of this is very important in light of what happened, but ESPN is reporting that Favre is now questionable for the game.

damn that sucks. guess that drops farve and green down a notch.
Can you take your head out of your ### for a second?? There is a whole lot more to life than FF and FBG. Confirms my thought that most of the people who frequent these forums are losers. And matrix, you've got to be the biggest loser.Under no circumstances should Brett play. For god sakes it's a football game. Warmth and condolensces goes out to the Farve family.

maybe you have used some sort of brain power to realize you should wait to hear official news before you made such a ######## post.

Damn, can't help but stoop to his level...but this makes an even better chance for the Packers to lose tomorrow and for the Vikings to clinch the division and for matrix to be banned until after the Superbowl. And I have Walker on my 15-0 team.

let me ask you a question and i want you to be honest. are there any packers on your fantasy team?

What did Berman say, I walked in at the end of his comment about the Monday Night Game.
Said his father ran off the road in a car accident and that the Monday night game could be a little different.

WTF is that comment about? I have Favre going in one league and fully support any decision he makes including if he doesn't play.Brett was very close to his father and I feel terrible for Brett and the Favre family.

Matrix-You are without a doubt the most pathetic human being on the planet. You are a disgrace to this board.

i'm saying that it would be real easy for him to seem like the bigger man and say the right things when nothing's at stake for him.
