Is Billy Volek the starting QB for the Titans? (1 Viewer)

I took over a redraft team that the owner quit on with 4 rounds to go. Right now i have Bledsoe, Romo, and Vince Young as my QBs. (yuck)

Would anyone drop Sinorice Moss to pickup Volek?

Have the Titans named their starting QB? Only thing I saw was that Young was named the #2 for this weekend....

unfortunately Collins is gone already. Like i said, i helped this league out, taking on this team with 4 picks left. There isn't much out there at QB at all. :( Sorry about posting here, but i figured several others may want to know the latest update on the QB situation in Tenn.

What are local's perceptions about collins/volek at this point. I realize the formal word is gametime decision but I'm trying to get a big-picture assessment based on recent events. I'm in the Volek camp myself as I think Collins isn't a very good QB... but I've got Colins in my big money league as my #3 QB so I'm rooting for him to get he job

Now, if Collins gets hurt before Volek is traded -- he'll move to #1 we presume, ahead of Vince.

Volek will be traded as soon as another starting QB goes down somewhere, at an enhanced price, of course.

I don't think so. More "hinting" from Fisher (he's playing the Belichek game with the Belichek disciple Mangini) that he hasn't even told the team yet. But they know by who is playing better. If I recall correctly. But that was more than an hour ago and I forget things easily.

When are people going to get over those two huge games in 2004? Open your eyes people - Volek is being replaced by a marginal veteran quarterback. This is not just a COINCIDENCE that Fisher has decided to dash the fantasy hopes of your binky Billy Volek - Volek flat out sucks. You can watch all the tape you want from those two huge games in '04 when he went over 400 yards, it's irrelevant now. That's not me talking, that's the Titans front office and coaching staff who are relegating him to the bench before a single regular season snap.

We have a long way to go before we can determine if the FO made a mistake ni VY over Leinart. (personally, I think they did)From what I understand (and recall), there was no way they could (or should) pay McNair what he was due on his contract and he wouldn't renegotiate.We don't know exactly what's been happening inside the organization. Maybe Volek has been pissing and moaning ever since they drafted VY. Maybe they're tired of it. Signing a one or two year fill-in qb and trading away Volek might be the best option. (lot's of "maybe's" there...just throwing out a possible scenario)No chance they will take a qb in the first round next year.

I agree with this - only Volek must agree to be traded - ie. it has to be for a good situation. The reason is that Volek has a no trade clause in his contract (one he insisted on putting there)

I thought this was bashing Bennett, not Volek. The way things are going, I'd be shocked if Collins is not the starter.

I don`t like Bennet or Volek, but Volek locks in on Bennett. Bennett has had his best career games when Volek starts.

Any chance the Titans have Volek start in an attempt to showcase him for a potential trade? They are playing the Jets. I know its unlikely but it would give Collins one more week in the offense with a chance to raise up Volek's value.

I also read that Ten has put in place a lot of plays/packages just for VYoung...any chance he becomes the goaline QB??? Has a QBBC ever been done in the NFL?

Just thinking outside the box..trying to figure out what box the Titans are in.

Tennessee will start whatever QB they think will give them the best chance to win. Sure..it's the Jets.. but the titans aren't exactly a juggernaut. They're going to need every win they can get this year.

Oh, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see VY get a few plays regardless of who the starter is. He'll be active, the #2, and I'd actually be surprised if he didn't take at least a couple of snaps.

Ive done nothing but tell this board how bad Billy Volek is. Smart people like yourself have defended him, saying "hes always produced when given the chance"...under the ridiculously misguided notion that stats = producing on an NFL level.

He's brutal. I'm not sure I think Collins is an upgrade, but Volek is not a good QB.
