didnt see a good Hardy thread - with his 1st TD last Sunday thought it would be a good time to get some info on him. Looks like he is the #3 for now but he has mad upside and great red zone presence - should pass Reed soon - any info or opinions out there on this guy?
Roscoe is shifty fun to watch with the ball. Reed is decent. He can't have trouble beating them out. I know some that really like Steve Johnson who is a bit of a project for them that'll take time to develop. Hardy doesn't have much time IMO. If he takes too long it'll be like Moulds passing the torch to Evans.
For now, it's not so dis-similar to Jacoby Jones. Alot of hype, little production. Get goin' rook!
They can't win in the playoffs with only Evans catching the ball.
I agree the Josh Reed love by the coaching staff is getting quite annoying. He does make those 5-6 yard catches on 2nd down making third easier. I'm sure Hardy could do that and have more upside. He was only in a few snaps in the 2nd half and had 3 targets, 2 catches and the TD. His drop was a poor pass that Hardy almost leaped up and grabbed.

From a fantasy perspective, Josh Reed is garbage but from an NFL perspective, he's a very good slot receiver. He makes solid catches, rarely drops the ball and is money on 3rd down. He has a real knack for knowing where the first down marker is and getting himself in position to get there. On to Hardy...When I saw Edwards let that ball go I thought great no one is gonna get that. I was astounded when he went up and got it. He needs to work on his presence on the field and still needs to adjust to the NFL game speed but he has a lot of upside and without a very good pass-catching TE, he will be the primary red zone target by mid-season if not sooner.I suspect he will stay in the #3 spot throughout most of the season, if not all of it but next year he should be ready to make much more of an impact.
I don't know about stud status, but I have no doubt he'll slowly get things going. Right now the Bills don't NEED him (Reed is a very solid all around WR, Parrish needs a few touches), so they can take their time getting Hardy up to speed.
The route running hasn't been great so far and he has had trouble picking up the playbook. He'll be a red zone threat this year, but he won't be made the #2 unless there are several injuries. If he makes a lot of progress in the offseason, then he may have a shot at the #2 (especially if the Bills let Evans get away).
Hardy was only on the field for 6-7 plays in Week 2, and I think 2 plays in Week 1 (0 targets). He is being brought along slowly, because he is still pretty raw & missed a lot of preseason with a hammy injury. He is a great red zone threat & will always be in there at the GL in passing situations. Aside from GL work, he's getting a little more action with each week, and his TD probably accelerated that a little for Week 3.
Reed is slow, but one of the better 3rd down possession WRs in the league. He is best suited for the slot, so Hardy will overtake him at some point this year. I doubt it's before mid-season though. He doesn't play the same position as Parrish, they are not competing for time. Parrish plays strictly in the slot.
He won't get more than 2-3 targets/game for another few weeks at best. I wouldn't even consider starting him until week 8-10. He's a good bet for 6 TDs this year, but his biggest contribution for the Bills will be drawing coverage away from Evans.
good stuff - I grabbed him for cheap as my #4 WR this yuear figuring GL catches and not much else - but I can keep him for 2 more years after his rook season - thats when I see him really being a solidplayer. Plus he is a good dynasty guy - He would be a great compliment to Evans - possibly a top 20 WR as soon as next year.
Any more info on him would be great - keep it coming throughout the year.
