Jimmy Graham trade rumors (1 Viewer)

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Seahawks have "had talks" about moving Jimmy Graham before Tuesday's trade deadline.

Graham is in the last year of a four-year, $40 million contract and the Seahawks would be wise to get something for him before he inevitably leaves in free agency. More specifically, Seattle is looking to upgrade its offensive line. The Seahawks are known to be interested in Texans LT Duane Brown, who will make his season debut at Seattle on Sunday. Graham has averaged just 38.3 yards per game this season, his lowest since his 2010. Perhaps he'd benefit from a change of scenery.

This seems to be one of those "just makes sense" trades. Not sure how much I believe that it will happen. Brown really wants out of Houston for multiple reasons. Sounds like he has a serious problem with the McNair and he wants to get paid. Graham isn't the athlete that he once was, but I don't think he's unhappy in Seattle. He appears to get along marvelously with his teammates and in particular Russell Wilson. He hasn't had the numbers that fantasy owners expect in Seattle, but then again no one is going to have the consistent receiving stats in this offense that anyone wants to see outside of Baldwin. It's the nature of the entire team philosophy.

As a Seattle fan I would like to see the trade happen, but I have my doubts. Seattle would need another TE to appear from nowhere outside of Vannett and Willson (no relation). Maybe call 1-800-TightEnd?

If they move him what teams in addition to Houston are looking for a TE?

I think if Seattle were struggling this would make sense to me but they are just starting to find their groove and are playing good enough to be there in the end. Not to mention Graham (regardless of how well or bad he's playing right now) is one of their only true RZ targets.

I think Seattle is just trying to light a fire under him to start performing better. Those two drops last week were absolute killers. He's a better player than he's shown this year.

Trade makes a ton of sense for the Seahawks. The problem with these types of rumors though is that i have yet to see anyone explain how it makes sense for the Texans.

They resigned Feidorwicz in the preseason, he started practicing again this week and he is eligible to come off IR in two weeks. Graham is 31 and in the last year of his contract. Unless the Seahawks are adding a nice draft pick, not sure why the Texans would be interested.

Doesn't have to be Graham. Might be CB Jeramy Lane.

Broncos would make a lot of sense. They need that middle threat, and Elway is an aggressive GM.

I doubt they would deal Graham for less than a 3rd round pick, unless they got a player in return. Probably not sending him to a contender in the NFC either.

They traded for derby last year and drafted butt. Derby is looking decent and butt should be removed from the IR soon. Not to say Jimmy wouldn't help but I don't think they make the move.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, to me just now: 'We are NOT trading Jimmy Graham. That's total bulls---' @AroundTheNFL @nflnetwork

It's funny how people were always so worried that the Seahawks wouldn't be able to keep their core talent together once they had to pay Wilson the big QB contract, and yet no one ever gave them #### for throwing away two rookie pay scale protected 1st round picks on overrated injury risks like Harvin and Graham

I mostly don't like what they have done with their RB and offensive line personnel decisions.

Trading for Percy Harvin was not a very good move, but the Vikings drafted Patterson, so not a huge loss there. They could have drafted an offensive lineman with that pick though.

Good to hear they are not trading Graham. That would not be too smart.
