Jordan Reed - TE - SF (2 Viewers)

I'm tossing him in. I think some people here have made good cases why recent actions have been mirage and not trend.

He's healthy. Look at his targets in his games w McCoy and cousins. Look at his targets w griffin. There's your answer. He's useless until rg3 gets hurt.

Jordan Reed - TE - Redskins

The Redskins listed Jordan Reed on their Week 11 post-game injury report with a hamstring issue.

We didn't notice any issues with Reed during the game and beat writers made no mention of an injury afterward. But it's still notable as the oft-injured Reed battled a nasty hamstring pull earlier this season. It's unclear if this is related.

Rotoworld:

Speaking Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden confirmed Jordan Reed came away from Sunday's loss with a hamstring issue.

However, Gruden was extremely short on details. It's unclear if it's the same hamstring that sidelined Reed earlier this season, or if his status is in doubt for Week 12. For now, owners need to assume Reed won't play, but we should get a better idea of his status when the Redskins return to practice on Wednesday.

Rotoworld:

Jordan Reed strained his right hamstring in Sunday's loss to the Bucs.

It's notable because it was a left hamstring pull that cost Reed four games earlier this season. Still, his status for Week 12 is murky as this is an oft-injured player who has proven slow to recover from soft-tissue injuries before. Owners can add insurance in Niles Paul, who averaged 4.5 catches for 58.2 yards with one touchdown during that aforementioned four-game stint as the starter.

Jordan Reed (hamstring) says he'll play Week 13 against the Colts.

Reed got in a limited practice Wednesday, participating in individual drills. His Week 11 hamstring injury will end up costing him just one game. With Colt McCoy's insertion into the lineup, Reed makes for an interesting TE1 streaming option in a game the Redskins will likely be playing catch-up.

Bum. Fortunately got Rivera a couple weeks ago
same and he gave me squat last week. Like one catch IIRC.

I'm desperate for Reed McCoy connection playing catchup in the playoffs.

Also, why is Niles Paul a "helluva player" in his absence and oh so pedestrian when he's around. Gruden can't utilize Paul? Can't find a two TE package that works?

Ah yes good times, was just looking back over the season schedule and fondly recalling how in the first half of the first game of eh season Reed caught his first pass, leapfrogged the tackler, pulled a hammy, went out, and I lost by 2 lousy yards, 0.2. Thanks, JR.

i started him week 1 at flex. Dropped him week 4 or so, someone else picked him up, then they dropped him week 10 or so and i picked him back up and started him and he got hurt again. So basically i started him two games and he got hurt both games.

I've moved on yet again. Now Wright

Rotoworld:

Jordan Reed (hamstring) practiced for the second straight day Thursday, getting in a limited session.

It would be nice to see Reed go "full" on Friday, but all signs point toward him returning against the Colts. Reed will be at risk of re-injury, but with tight end so thin, he's worth chucking up as a low-end TE1 if you've been dissatisfied with your recent options.

Great game today. He may help some FF teams down the stretch if he can stay healthy and McCoy stays in at QB. Just need the cajones to start him in the playoffs.

how does st louis d matchup against reed? Since the rams have a good front will reed stay in to block?
Reed doesn't block. So far this season, if Reed's been on the field for a pass play, he's been out running a route 93% of the time. By far the most blocking he's done this year (as a percentage of his snaps) came against Minnesota, and he still ran a route on 86% of his passing snaps.

It's not a one-year aberration, either. Reed was running routes on 92.5% of his passing snaps last year, too. He's a bad pass blocker. This was well known when Washington drafted him. Honestly, he does a lot more to slow the pass rush by running routes over the middle and keeping the linebackers on their heels, (or serving as a quick outlet target), than he would by making some half-hearted effort to hit somebody.

Thanks for the info

Anyone trusting him here week 14 in the playoffs? Based on last week I'm tempted to chase points and play him over Witten (who got me a 1 last week) but I don't think I can take that gamble.

Redskins TE Off. Snap counts since Reed's mid-season return:

Reed - (13) 50/62.0%; (12) 0/0; (11) 32/44.0; (9) 44/66.0; (8) 26/39.0; (7) 41/65.0; (6) 35/58.0

NPaul - (13) 32/40.0%; (12) 38/69.0; (11) 0/0; (9) 33/49.0; (8) 38/57.0; (7) 22/35.0; (6) 27/45.0

Paulsen - (13) 19/24.0%; (12) 19/35.0; (11) 13/18.0; (9) 9/13.0; (8) 14/21.0; (7) 26/41.0; (6) 8/13.0

Reed's games:

13. 11/9/123/0 Ind (McCoy started)

12. inj

11. 3/2/22/0 TB - Griffin

10. bye

9. 1/1/17/0 Min - Griffin

8. 7/7/40/0 Dal (McCoy started) - McCoy used him a lot in the final drive

7.6/5/54/0 Ten (Cousins started, McCoy finished) - McCoy used him a good bit in the final drive

6. 11/8/92/0 Ari - Cousins

Vs Indy he also had 3 red zone opportunities, from the Colts 11, 6 and 2 yard lines.

Without Griffin, in 4 games Reed is averaging 8.75 targets, 7.25 receptions. For targets, the leader season long in the NFL right now is Gronk at 8.5; receptions leader per game season long are Gronk and Graham at 5.4. I know there are a gazillion caveats with this.

Starting over Dwayne Allen even if he's back this week and for the rest of the season if he can keep up any semblance of the production from last week.

I'm going to grab him, but bench him. He's worth keeping away from my opponents who need TEs.

Gronk gronk gronk.

I grabbed him as a block move but am tempted to play him over Witten. Won't do it, must stay strong. Risk of an early in game injury is too high.

Any Reed owners still alive and also willing to trot him out tomorrow?

Seems like there's usually a sleeper tight end rising up just this time of year.... but not this season.

18 targets in 2 games is still good.

Rolling him out, no other choice but to pick up the Bills guy whose name eludes me. Hoping for a good game but not counting on it.

Rotoworld:

CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir cites Jordan Reed as a candidate for a breakout season in 2015.

El-Bashir threw out 60 catches, 800 yards and six touchdowns as realistic projections for Reed if he can stay healthy. Those are Pro Bowl-type numbers. Reed functioned mostly as a check-down man in 2014, logging 50 catches for 465 yards. His size (6'2" and 237 pounds) suggests he could be a red zone presence, but we've yet to see that from Reed in his first two seasons (only three touchdowns in 20 games).
