Better episode for sure - some pieces on the chess board finally moved.

Still way too much Ava - her story slows the show down to a crawl.

well it has to be a major plot line later on ...i just hope the payoff is worth it

Think Sophia in the walking dead...the whole season was based around looking for her ...then the barn scene happens and it was great...so worth the build up and wait

Another lack luster showing as the writers do their victory lap. Wynona and the kid story brought nothing to the show.

I'm having a tough time staying in this season. There are a few good scenes and characters (choo-choo and the Lost pilot killing people in a mineshaft, guy pulling bullet out of his shoulder), but I'm getting really bored of seeing Winona and Ava to really get into it. I feel like once the show starts to pick up momentum the writers decide to shove Ava (or now Winona) in there to slow things to a crawl.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet, so I'm hoping its better than the previous two weeks.

Choo Choo/Mundo made an appearance on Battle Creek Sunday and Dewey Crowe is a regular (bit part though) there.

ETA: for clarity, the actors not the characters.

They did it again last night forcing Arlo into the show for no payoff.

The writing has gone way down hill.

I've seen two episodes from this year. Can't get into it for some reason.

But RN is right, Olyphant and Goggins will always be money when they do a scene together.

I think the writers are doing a slow burn leading up to a big payoff.

I like what's playing out in the background with Wynn Duffy, Mary Steenburgen and Sam Elliott. And ole Art doing his own poking around that whole back story.

you have to figure the writers know everyone who watches this show is invested in Raylan. So they are tying up his loose ends (family issues) ,getting him involved in the whole baby thing, and building to a final showdown with Boyd

One thing missing this year is the unrelated divergent episode. Like when Dewey thought his kidneys were stolen. Or when Raylan's gf ran away with the boxer.

Seems like there's one every year - which I am not knocking - I enjoyed it.

Has to be in the top 5 lines from this show.
I understand if you are basing it on the dialogue itself but as a marshal can you really shoot a guy in the back and get away with it? I doubt it.
I also don't know that you can get away with pounding a marshal in the face repeatedly and get away with it. I am referring to the season 2 scene when Raylan was punched multiple times in the face by that large hump in the general store.

Different altogether. Raylan agreed to that fight

what i can see is a bonafide gunfight ok corral style coming between Raylan and the new gunslinger
They certainly drove home that he's accurate and fast. Watch out Raylan!

Not liking this season as much as the others. Not enough Raylan-Boyd interactions. Haven't watched last night's episode, but there doesn't seem to be much spoilers in there.

So, who thinks Raylan dies at the end of this season? They've foreshadowed it a bit.

I can see where they spin this with Boyd protecting Raylan in a gun fight against the Sam Elliott out of towners crew and with Boyd getting killed in the process. Then Raylan just cleans up with wiping out the SEOOTC emptying a couple pistols into them.

Sam Elliot Out Of Town Clan?
Oh, okay. Kind of ridiculous. He/she mentions other people by their character's name and mentions another person by real name. Consistency, people, so we don't have to play games trying to figure out what you are trying to say.

Raylan and Boyd have not always been portrayed with this much friction - although fair to say it's escalated with the Ava situation.

I actually think Boyd may save Raylan in some fashion and Raylan walks off without closing the case on Boyd (or even helps Boyd avoid jail).

Better than most episodes this season.

Zach's plan was a little to stupid to kill Boyd - had to be less complicated opportunities than that

This goes directly against the "Raylan always gets his man" theme that has been consistent throughout the series.
