Justified (1 Viewer)

Good episode, not exactly a killer finale though. The Quarles ending was decent. They are setting this all up forRaylan having to take down Arlo at some point. Arlo pretty much said Boyd was the son he never had last night in his confession and Raylan's line at the end solidified it for me
I deleted the spoiler tags, they aren't necessary. People shouldn't be in here if they don't want to know what happened. Having said that, won't Arlo be in prison for the rest of his life? He killed a state trooper and confessed to killing Devil.

Loved Raylan holding Quarles's severed arm with the gun still in the hand away from him so he couldn't get it :lmao:

Not quite on par with season 2, but still solid. Was bummed when Mags Bennett was killed off last year, hard to top her as an adversary, but they made up for it a little in quantity with Limehouse, Dickey, Duffy and Quarles. Glad they offed Quarles, the show needs a quality bad guy worthy of Raylan next season. Outstanding supporting cast and amazing dialogue.

:lmao:

good finale. not overwhelmingly good, but nonetheless. the scene with Raylan and Duffy in the RV was great. and Raylan's final line implying that Arlo would have killed him if it was between him and Boyd was a pretty powerful one.

Great finale. As others have said, great season even if it wasn't quite as good as S2.

I hope Limehouse sticks around at least next season.

They've got a lot of ways they can go next season.

It goes without saying, but pregnant Winona and pimp Ava are hot as all hell.

Personally I think the writers could tell that the Winona storyline was going no where and jettisoned her for the most part for the second half of the season. I cannot stand her character anyway.

For some reason I cannot take my eyes of Eva. Not the hottest chick on TV (maybe not even on the show) but she has something.

I do like her character, but there probably just won't be much of a role for her. Like "24", the show can't really work if the protagonist settles down in the suburbs with a loving wife.

Great show and I will miss it.

Quarles with those two kids was kinda freaky. I kept thinking he was gonna rape one of them. Very creepy vibe.

FX is replaying the past seasons early morning hours. Next ep is S1Ep4 and it's on at 2 a.m. Wednesday. The next couple are at 3 and 4 a.m. Thursday and so on. Gonna have to set the DVR and re-watch these.

Re-watching Season 3 from the late-night replays.

I was starting to forget what a wonderful show this is. I don't know that it can ever a "one of the best shows ever" type of show. It's not terribly ambitious or intense, but I love that they don't try to be more than what they are.

It's just a modern-day Western with great execution.

Generally, with great acting, dialogue and interesting stories.

With more ambitious, but severely flawed shows just finishing their seasons, 'Justified' is a really nice contrast. It's a lot like 'Parenthood', I think, in that it's an example that a show doesn't have to be groundbreaking to be great. Can't wait for the new season to start.

Yep. It doesn't take itself to serious and appears to know it's audience. We just want to see Raylan kick some ### and get a little booty along the way.

Finished S3 a couple of weeks ago. Surprised this show isn't more popular with FBGs. I thought the whole planting evidence against Raylan to make it look like he was a murderer story arc wrapped up way too quickly to be interesting, but otherwise a solid season.

To be fair, it took 2 seasons to get the thread subtitle changed. Even for someone watching the show, it would've taken dumb luck to stumble into this thread. It could be more watching that we just don't know about.

Also, Patton Oswalt will have a recurring role in S4.

I think he's pretty funny, and I could see the writers doing some nice things with him.

If there's anything 'Justified' does as well as anybody, it's write the hell out of a season guest star.

Speaking of which, I poured out a quart of Apple Pie in loving memory of Mags Bennett, when I learned that Margo is joining FX's new show 'The Americans'
Ain't that the truth. I'll put season two of Justified up against just about any other season from any other show. Mags was a fantastic character.

She's not a very good actress, but she's good as Winona. And she's still hot.
I thought she did great work in her
For anyone that might be offended by strong language, please don't open that link. But yeah, I agree. She needs the right role and writers, which she had here.

No season 4 talk? Lots of story threads from last week.Thought Arlo was written out of character based on season 3 - although when the guys half nuts maybe it was in character.

Great premiere. I think Oswalt will work well.Loved the "If you meet an ####### in the morning, you met an #######....if you meet #######s all day, you you're an #######" line.

Better lines were "Costco size can of whoop ###" and responding "No but this may be your last" about having a gun pointed at you

Where's all the viewers this year? I thought ep 2 was good. Always good to see Art & Wynn in action. Not a big fan of the preacher angle as that story has been done numerous times - although this one may have an interesting turn as soon as next week.

The last two seasons I waited a few weeks and watched them together and would catch up once a month on the dvr. That worked a lot better for me than watching a single episode a week like I an doing this year. Show is not dense enough for me on single episodes. I think I'll take a month off.

Also, not huge issues but two things bugged me a little1) Arlo does not seem the same as the guy we saw at the end of last season - and as Raylan is still expceting a baby not much time could have passed2) Same for Wynn - I think he appears more of a bad*** this year.Again not huge issues...

Agreed on Art and Duffy. Loved Art's line about getting lunch before they go see the mountain folks in case Raylan shoots one of them. And the Deliverance kid getting up out of the chair and shooting the double bird to Raylan was pretty funny.Sort of agree on the preacher angle, but if that's the arc that keeps Boyd somewhat front and center this season then I'm all for it. The scene where he shows up at the tent was great. If I have a gripe so far it's probably that it sounds like we're not going to get much, if any, of Limehouse, Dewey Crowe, and Dickie Bennett this year. I've really liked those characters when they've been in the mix. But if we get more of Duffy I'll be okay with that. He's very much sort of a "stock" Elmore Leonard character and the actor does a nice job with him.

Took me a while to place the actor. Sledge from The Pacific.Ron Eldard looks like he's going to be a good addition as Boyd's sidekick

Great scene with him and Boyd.

I'm fine with no Dickie Bennett. I always thought something felt forced with him. He's the only 'Justified' character that I really haven't bought into.I'll miss Limehouse and Dewey. Though, I always kind of assume Dewey will make an appearance at some point.

Definitely agree about Duffy. He got neutered last season, but the show's better when Duffy has his swagger.

How embarrassing would it be to have a grifter explain to you exactly how she sets up her marks and robs them only to have her turn around and do it to you?

Do we know for sure the ex didn't kidnap her? The other bartender said that she told him she was going to meet Raylan I think. That could easily be explained away. After they wrongly assummed the Thompson chick fled seems like it might have gone through Raylan's head.

The guy didn't know Raylan was stashing away money, only the girl did. If she was being kidnapped, you wouldn't think she would tell him this.

A couple questions...

ANy chance Goggins milked the snake and the preacher will be fine? Or did the writers see the preacher angle was going nowhere and decided to kill him off and replace that storyline with the grifters and the missing Drew guy?Is Drew a new character? I think he is but wanted to make sure. So he saw some mob guy kill a fed thirty years ago? If the season turns to finding him, that would be fine. But doesn't that mean they are going to have to introduce the mob guy too? And are we thinking all of that leads back to the guy from Frankfurt whose name I can't remember? Why would Raylan go looking for the grifter chick? Yeah, he liked her and all but...Can someone fill me in on how/when Raylan's hot wife left the show and how he got hooked up with the bartender in the first place? I must have missed 3 or 4 episodes in the second half of last season where I'm guessing this was explained.

I think Raylan's relationship with the bartender just popped up for this season. No real story behind it. I don't think she appeared anywhere at the end of S3.Now, for some reason, I feel like maybe he might've boned her somewhere in season 1 or 2. I might be misremembering completely or maybe it was a different bartender.

For all intents and purposes though, she's just the chick Raylan started banging between seasons, after Winona left at the very end of S3. She just got sick of the lifestyle again. Also, Natalie Zea signed on to do the 'The Following'.

Oh, and if you mean the bartender as the grifter, Raylan would go looking for her, not because he liked her, but because she and man stole thousands of dollars from him that he was saving to help with the baby.

Raylon was ready to get out of the hotel he and Winona were in and somewhere in the discussions about what to do, she decided she couldn't handle the threat of him getting killed everyday anymore. Again. I think she just left him a note that she had left, iirc. Then a room was available upstairs at the bar Raylon hung out in, so he took it. He was living there and moonlighting as their bouncer since he was there anyway. He so a hot bartender and did her.No idea what is going on with Eugene Sledge from the Pacific and the snakes or Goggins' interest in him.

I can see Raylon going after the chick for any number of reasons. He's not convinced she's hustled him or he suspects she did and is pissed off enough to go after her. He's worried about her. He thinks there could be a connection with what's going on in Arlo's house. But mostly, I think he just wants answers. Dude's an answer-getter.

Yeah, I think Drew is the new villain, though I hope we still get Duffy thrown in there because he's my favorite character on the show.
