Kelce on Justin Tucker (3 Viewers)

My guess is that Baltimore already knows what they can do here. I have no idea what Tucker's contract status is or how player conduct affects it, but I'd bet the exit strategy is already in place.

Maybe it's all a conspiracy, but this is just too much smoke from too many chimneys.

I imagine Tucker's team has some private investigators looking into any direct links amongst the complainants apart from their identical profession, but assuming none of significance are found the bold does seem accurate.

The first accusations are from 8-10 years ago. Are these recent or did the statute of limitations run out
on these too?

Kickers are evil people and a big reason why we should get rid of them in fantasy football. If you weren't convinced before, you should be now.

jk of course. It's going to be a long off-season :(

The league will need to get involved here IMO.
I don't think it'll get that far in regards to Tucker being on Baltimore's roster.
Of course not since I’m sure the Ravens are the one’s that are making this a story. It’s so annoying how yall don’t think these teams don’t know everything about players. They only drop the bad info when it’s convenient. NFL teams are ok with bad behavior no matter the organization.

Who is "y'all"? I have no doubt Baltimore knew about this stuff years ago.

Varies state to state.

Some states have no expiration date on sexual assault.

Wut.

The ravens did not “make this a story”. The Baltimore Banner is an independant news org, and they’re the ones who broke the story.

Wild assertion though.

Maybe they’d heard the initial allegations (sounds like they’ve been floating around for some time based on that reddit post) but I don’t think he’d been credibly accused until very recently.

Right, but IF there were any type of allegations (or even rumors) back then, I'd bet my house that the Ravens ran an investigation.

He’s saying the Ravens likely already knew about it, chose to ignore it, and leaked it to that news org now that his performance has deteriorated.

That is the way it works. Teams will ignore problems as long as the player is performing at a high level, less performance, less tolerance.

A 5th WR will get cut for the same issues a #1 stays.

I think Jimmy Johnson made a similar statement a long time ago.

Complete nonsense.

There's no way an organization would keep hold of a player if they knew he'd done that sort of thing, especially on this scale.

Once this sort of thing is out in the open their career is done, there's no coming back.

Unless you are a QB.............
Rb's get the "one time" mistake thing, Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt.

We have no clue what these teams internal policies are on keeping players.

Sounds like a wild and unfounded conspiracy theory to me.
I'm not saying that's what happened. Just saying that's what that particular poster was suggesting.
Right, I wasn’t saying you were the one with the unfounded conspiracy theory.
:)

Of course they would if he's playing at a high level. You really think KCC would come out and say "oh, we found out some stuff about Mahomes that no one else in the world is talking about, but we're going to proactively cut him to show what great people we are"?

I believe this was the post of which he said he was being sarcastic.

This. They are ready to move on.

He did.

Something about letting Michael Irvin fall asleep in team meetings with a slap on the wrist. Someone else..like a STer? Gone.

Seems if you’re thought to be a top QB you can get 200+ million guaranteed with crazy accusations.

If the kicker they drafted looks good, expect stories to start flying.

IMO if he were still above 90% he’d still be a Raven. It’s sad, and cynical, but it’s the league as we know it.

Honestly, one could probably get the benefit of the doubt for a 70-something % year if one isn’t doing super problematic stuff off-field.

But one can’t do both & expect to keep one’s job in the NFL at K.

*QB is another story, apparently.

There was an article by the Ravens' beat writer on the Athletic this morning that had a section on Baltimore's higher-ups mentioning that Tucker's place on the team will be a "football decision". I thought to myself "welp, he's gone".

I agree with HSG above that, if Tucker had kicked better last season, this wouldn't have happened now. It would've been like the Ray Rice incident where they'd "wait on all of the evidence" (i.e. a video coming out that can't be denied) before making a decision.

This is one of the biggest falls from grace in recent NFL history. Tucker was a HOFer, considered by most the best Kicker ever. Anything inside 55 was considered automatic for much of his career. Now, who knows? Feels like his career is over, and I can't see some big push for the HOF happening.

This went how I thought.
A top 3 qb in this situation and we could have a 4k recording and it would mean nothing.

Tucker has always been a di&k, but this should 100% wipe him off HOF - he’s a kicker first of all. Vanderjet was just a boozer - this guy is accused of multiple SA’s.
