(KFFL) Mike Sullivan, of the North County Times, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (toe) probably will test his toe before the team's Week 2 game to see how it feels before deciding to play, but he likely will play in the game.
He sat in the playoffs and I didnt think he would do that. Granted not the same injury but...Is there any chance he doesn't play this week? The Chargers are 0-1 and I doubt their interested in being 0-2. Add to that it's an AFC opponent and I logically can't see him sit if there's any chance he plays.
granted i want him to play too, but this logic doesn't fly. doe teams ever want to lose? With the Chargers facing the chance of starting 0-2, I would have to think Tomlinson's toe would have to be incredibly painful for him to not play.
Just to be clear, I think this is pure speculation on the reporter's part. Everything that has come out of LT's mouth is that he will play. Now, I'm not saying the reporter's speculation is unwarranted; he's probably right, insofar as just about every player with an injury "tests" it before deciding whether or not to play. But the insight that we have into LT's mindset as of now is that he will go.i'm sure this was posted in the other lt thread, but since it's the latest news i figured i'd put it here. pulled from mfl's player page...

This is NOT a WDIS thread, it's for injuries please lets keep it that way.Would I be stupid for starting Bush over LT this week, given the toe injury and all?
A go, but may be limited in his runs.John Clayton said he is a "go"
Is that a quote?A go, but may be limited in his runs.John Clayton said he is a "go"
ESPN's John Clayton reports that LaDainian Tomlinson (turf toe) "is a go" for Sunday's afternoon game at Denver.Tomlinson practiced fully on Friday. He was listed as questionable, but Clayton has been beating the drum that he'll play. Clayton is good at what he does, so we've got to trust him here. Make sure to check this afternoon (the Chargers and Broncos don't start until 4:15ET), but LT2 should be in lineups. You can't beat the matchup and you didn't draft Tomlinson to sit him.
Similar to what he said. Basically Clayton is saying that the toe may limit LT's runs.Is that a quote?A go, but may be limited in his runs.John Clayton said he is a "go"
The word was that he took half his normal reps on Friday..... maybe he fully practiced for half the time?ESPN's John Clayton reports that LaDainian Tomlinson (turf toe) "is a go" for Sunday's afternoon game at Denver.

:XHow can people bench their #1 pick when he is a "go"? You are just overthinking...if LT is a go, he will play. The Chargers need him in this key divisional game.
Thanks for the update. Keep us posted on how it goes for youKiddLattimer said:Since he is a late game I am putting him at Flex so that I can replace him with a RB or WR if he cant go.
No need for sarcasm, fanatic. His tip on putting LT at Flex might be of value to some other LT owners who have not been paying close attention. Thanks for the update.
