Let's play an online poker tournament tonight? (4 Viewers)

My wife asked, "Why are you sending 20 bucks to someone named Mary?"   🤣
That must have been the other night - my wife is Mary. My wife does all the chores, including banking, so a lot of this #### is in her name.

I wish there was an easy way to manage a cash game.  That would be best to get midday activity.
We could perhaps all agree on a buy-in amount, and how much each chip is worth. We could have a banker who collects the money UP FRONT. If anyone ever wants more chips, they pay the banker the appropriate amount. You can also cash out at any time, and the banker will send you what your chips are worth.

I think something like that could work.

How much interest would there be in doing a midday tournament?  Say 11am or noon?  If so, maybe we can set something up for that as a daily or every other day type thing as well.  I'm actually more able to do that freely than the evening one.  Others?
I'd be down for a day game there, evening time over here. I'll have to fire up the VPN and see if it'll work for this. Haven't dabbled in online poker in quite a few years and ready to donate to all of you fine folk.

Only took a worldwide pandemic to give in to all the vices.

Id be interested.  Also wondering if anyone would be interested in occasionally having games for higher stakes.  Maybe 100 or so?  Anyone else having trouble really caring at 20.  It can still be fun, but found myself yesterday calling stuff not even thinking about it since its low stakes
Old oats loves big stakes.

PS Cav one morning recently while hammered challenged me via PM to a 20k heads up game.

That's why people were suggesting the Pokerrrr 2 app. It isn't perfect but it does cash game clubs and works on mobile.

:lmao:   Holy crap.  Love it.  Who won??
We didn’t play.

Every now and then I’ll be up having coffee at like 7am Eastern and I get a rambling PM from Cav challenging me to a heads up poker game. Mind you, we haven’t played in years. But yeah $20k is the biggest stakes challenge so far. He said he just won $10k in some local game overnight and was obviously lit and felt like he had some house money to burn.

Gian thanks again for being banker.

Not sure if resolved but I believe you mentioned @NYRAGE was the only unpaid player.

1st - Uni $90

2nd - mwoot - $54

3rd - duckzz - $36

GG all!  Looking forward to having a bigger game this weekend maybe if folks are around.

Am I paying Kutta? I was waiting to see who was collecting or whether it was going to individuals directly.

Never mind. You mentioned Gian.

Congrats Uni!  @gianmarco you can send both my (mwoot15) and Duckzz to my PayPal I sent you tonight.  Thanks!

Fyi for all the people asking about pokerrrr2 the app is good but it's a little glitchy getting in and out of games because it's not built for the traffic they're getting. Stars isn't bad for what it's being used for here. Just my .02

I'm interested in joing. Watched this thread many seasons back. I've had to resurrect my paypal account as it was closed last Fall due to inactivity and am waiting on my deposits.

We play any 8-game?

Compatability question:

Would any laptop with a Windows OS be sufficient for playing on PokerStars ? Chromebook ? Any minimum specs I need to have ?

TIA

I will check in later to see if a game is happening.  I'm interested in playing tonight or maybe tomorrow if not tonight.

Can those with knowledge expand on this list?

Poker Stars:

Pros:

Cons: No private games on App

Need a minimum amount of chips to join a private game

Pokerr 2:

Pros: Can play private games on the app.

Pokerr 2 - let's the person running the game control who sits.  So in a cash game people will request x dollars, if they didn't pay you have the option of denying them access.  It also tracks total won and lost for the host.  You can squeeze your cards.  You get the cards face down if you want.  You have straddle and run it twice options that don't slow down the game.  If you have the run it twice option selected and the other player does too its automatic.  Won't run twice if not selected before the hand.

You can play on your phone.

Con, I think there is a minimal fee.

The pokerrr2 app has been a bit sluggish at times over the last couple weeks due to heavy traffic. I have only used the tournament feature with 15-20 friends and it has been adequate.

My friends and I tried out the Pokerrrr2 app and everyone had multiple connection issues, and then switched to PS and had no problems.

Kinda sucks that there's nowhere you can reliably put together a private game giving people the option of desktop or mobile app. I personally prefer playing on a computer with keyboard and mouse.

I think a significant con regarding Pokerrr2 (and please correct me if I'm mistaken) is that it's mobile only, right?  I think a lot of folks prefer playing on their PC where it's convenient to chat and multi-task.

I'm not necessarily opposed to the Pokerrr2 app, but we have about 50 people signed up on the PokerStars home game club with decent turn-outs each night.  Seems to make sense to keep a good thing rolling.

Sorry if this is a dumb question that's been covered upthread, but is there a standing game that is going to happen tonight?  If so, what platform?  What time?  Buy-in?  Payment through PayPal or do we deposit via credit card on the app?

We have been having nightly games on PokerStars.  Club ID 3321467, password is potsofice if you haven't joined yet.  First tournament is at 8PM CST, there is sometimes a 2nd and possibly 3rd after that.  We've been doing $20 buy-in with payment through a trusted person being banker and accepting $ via PayPal and then distributing to the winners.

I will try to get in on it.  I'm west coast so 6pm may be challenging with my kids running around.  I'll download the app as soon as I get home and will check in here to see what's going on.

I wasn’t advocating change. My son is considering setting up home games with his friends and I was trying to give him options.

I could be wrong,  but I thought I recall getting an email stating 9pm CT tonight.

I think that is the 2nd tournament.  There should be one starting at 8PM CST and then another at 9PM CST.  We can adjust these times if people want, it seems like we usually still have a lot going in the first by the time the second starts, so maybe we should push the 2nd one back to 9:30 or something.

either the first one up 30 minutes or second one back 30 minutes.  The hands are dealt so quickly, that it's not easy to multi table

If anyone wants to play PLO8, or HORSE, or whatever, let me know

90 minutes to 120 minutes later would be best I think.
