I am not much of a poster but have been lurking since the yellow boards. I am hoping some of the Footballguys community can find it in their hearts to help.

A friend of mine (Jody Rech) was hit by a dump truck. He is alive and out of the hospital but will never be the same. He requires 24 hour care and cannot work again. They have piled up hundred of thousands of dollars in medical bills alone. I have attached their story from pay it forward. We are at 90 percent of our goal with 12 days left. I am hoping FBG can push us over the top. Thanks in advance for those that can give.

How does the dump truck company not have the burdon of paying for his expenses? I am sure that there is going to be a huge settlement somewhere down the line.

i feel sorry for the guy a LOT.. but this is a legit question

Jody should be on MA, that will solve the Dr bills. Have wife talk to elder care lawyer on how to do it smart. Also don't believe that he has hit his peek. GENERALLY speaking tbi's continue to show improvement up to 18 months after. It then generally levels out. If his therapists are telling get them differently, find different therapists. Can't donate myself, I'm in a very similar situation. Wife had aneurysm and then 4 strokes. She is 24 hour supervision but I continue to hold out hope for independence for her.

Every penny counts. Thank you very much.

I will not pretend to know all the details but I am sure there will be a lawsuit. I am currently thinking of the present to help them hold on.

Boots...Thank you for the hope. Just what I needed. Sorry to hear about your wife. I will talk to his wife (conna) tomorrow and drop her that advice.
