\\m// Official Dealer's Choice Music Mixtape Draft (1 Viewer)

Ok I will change my category.

When Zamboni was doing those "year in music" threads, I discovered that one year stood out for me as having more great albums than any other year. I couldn't believe how many of my favorite albums of all time originated from this year. Therefore my category: please choose a song from 1971.
Those in-year threads were fun.I like the mandolin theme, but it's your call.

Assuming I have not missed a deadline, I'm scrapping my small town category. Current selection for a category is song titles which include the word Babe or Baby.

Usual21 was on the board this afternoon and didn't post in this thread.

Everybody (including Usual) has until 11AM EST on Thursday to lock in their final categories. Tim can start drafting after then (8AM PST) with no clock.

If Usual hasn't picked a category, he's booted and I'll see if ilove80s or Hell Toupee still wants in.

If they don't I'm here with two categories in my pocket (among other things). I'll even give my categories if someone needs/likes them.

Speaking of categories, I'm changing mine again. Since both the solo Beatle and Powerpop categories bit the dust one minute apart, I'm picking:

Beatlesesque: Songs that sound like or remind you of the Beatles. No covers or direct involvement of the Fab Four or Julian Lennon permitted.

OK. You're in. If Usual shows up before tomorrow, we'll make room.

Ok I might have to steal your bassline idea..

:hot:

I liked the mandolins category

How are people supposed to find scandanavian music from 1971?

Feel free to kick me if too many or if you don't like my category.

Can't decide between these two:

Songs played in the last scene of a movie/credits

or

Songs with religion inside by non religious/christian bands.

Can ELO & Oasis be excluded?

What ever category you come up with, you better be prepared for a rules throwdown with JML
Nope. Not this time (unless it's one of Tim's picks)

Eephus is da man for this draft and I defer to his vastly superior knowledge

Definitely prefer the second one.

Yeah, first one would be way too easy.

Songs that mention religion by non religious artists it is.

I'm liking the open-ended open-to-interpretation categories. I'm hoping my category can go in all sorts of different genre directions. If I think of something better, I'll get it in before the deadline.
