What is going on in there with all the player threads on auto bump? You can't find team threads or hawk screech or whatever raider is on about this year.

Can't those player threads be their own forearm?

Have a great season

EDIT: Changed title

I never go over there but had to check. It’s just one guy spamming rotoworld blurbs for each player. Is that what people want to see there?

Agreed. I have always been annoyed with that but to be fair its been going on for years now.

If I want outside content, Ill figure out what sources I want to use and for what player and just do that myself.

Some like it. I made a comment somewhere recently that Faust was my first use of the ignore function years ago, and I was surprised how many responded that they liked those posts and poster.

This is not new, but it seems like there are more than any other year. I wonder if it is due to fewer people posting in the Shark Pool so the player threads are not getting bumped down.
This.

When people are crawling over each other to bump other stuff, it didn't matter.

Less traffic, and this is what it is

Yes - it's definitely much less active than it used to be, not helped by the abundance of other social media outlets. As for threads, IIRC a few years back Joe asked the Shark Pool if they wanted several individual player threads or more robust generic ones. I think most landed on the individual ones. I don't think it's a big deal either way - can't please everyone.

You’ll still see the thread though. What’s the point in that.

Not sure what you mean.

Totally agreed. Game threads are dropping to page 2 an hour after the game is over because we need to know that some Tight End no one cares about caught 2 balls for 14 yards.

No you don't

If Faust or the other guy started the thread, you won't see it.

If they add to the Lamar Jackson thread, started by some handsome genius, you still see the thread, and it still gets bumped.

Same. I criticized that guy for spamming a player thread with Rotoworld stuff and got a ton of pushback over it. I just figure it's what people in that forum want, and what do I care because I'm hardly over there anyway.

100% this, and it was probably a decade ago that I was over there and ignored him anyway.

I was honestly surprised by the pushback and love for Faust, but I guess more feel the opposite and it ands to the threads being more of a one stop for info?

Maybe each team could have a player stat thread and he could post the stats in there? Each week could have one post in the thread for all players.

There is a News section on FBG that post all that stuff. I think it is unnecessary to post the post-game stats of every offensive starter (or most of them) in the NFL in the SP. People who play FF know where to find stats to players. I ignore it, but since this thread is talking about it, I do think the spamming of the info is more obstructive than being a helpful tool.

I think the better question would be what people want to see.

Lots of discussion is very player specific.

But game threads are always fun too even though they obviously fade after the game.

What format would you folks like?

A for effort by that guy for spending a couple of hours bumping threads with useless info on barely used players
So it's not a bot? Sheesh

Appears to be a new guy doing it unless Faust has an alias. At least when Faust did it, it was not like 5 seconds after a game ended when there are other games and stuff going on. Monday morning is the time to post stuff like that.

Even then, its of dubious usefulness. The stat lines are one thing, but Roto notoriously has terrible commentary filled with bias and hot takes and it has for many years.

This is where it would be good to get more detail on what folks mean. Lots of time, the stats are very intertwined with news.

Joe Burrow was bad yesterday. Here's the stats. And hopefully some discussion ensues on that player.

Right?

wonder if it's the same guy spamming the Packers sub-reddit with a new thread for individual video clips of every single play from yesterday's game

I have considered starting NFL related threads in here - the FFA - but didn't want to be disruptive. For instance, the NBA, college football and MLB threads in here are vastly more interesting and thought provoking than the typical Shark Pool thread about Player X or Team Y.

For an example, I would love a thread discussing what team/player was the biggest disappointment in week 1? I don't think that thread topic gets the same meaty discussion in the SP that it would get in the FFA. But does it belong here? I dunno.

The Frankman posted a ton of these kind of bumps yesterday. Nothing wrong with it if thats what he wants to do though. Personally would rather see it like this morning though instead of while afternoon games are going.

But isn't DJ Moore with just 25 yards on two catches newsworthy?

Absolutely that would be a great thread for Shark Pool.

You don't think it would be?

i dont know about the new guy but to the extent anyone is speaking ill of faust i disagree 100 percent that brohan is really doing the lords work and has been for decades at this point i mean it that guy spends a lot of time putting information about players in the threads and it helps a lot of people just my two cents but that faust guy is a bromigo take that to the bank

my view is that nearly everyone knows Burrow had a bad game, if someone wants to comment on it don't think the stats are going to prompt them. Possibly if someone's game was highly noteworthy such as in this case posting stats isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think the issue is just there's so many posts that are just posting players stats i.e. Waller 4 catches for 40 yards that don't lead to any type of discussion anyway.

I have a problem with the Shark Pool that I can’t figure out: game threads don’t appear on my phone- I have to be on a laptop to see them. On my phone I can never access them unless it’s on the main page (the title page that displays the current thread being posted in on each subforum.)
