Manning is still a choke (1 Viewer)

On the flip side: Peyton Manning does not deserve to be metioned with the all time great QBs yet, either. As of now, he is not close to the Montana's, Marino's, Staubach's, Bradshaw's, et al. That very well may change, as his career is relatively young, but for now, in my eyes, he is very good, but not great.
That should just about say all that needs to be said.

I don't doubt Manning in the playoffs, just playoff games vs. a good D or a BB coached team. :P
Right, Manning can't get it done against a good D in the playoffs. Like the Denver game this year - he only threw five TD passes against the team ranked 4th in total defense. Embarassing. As always, way too much credit or blame is assigned to the QB. Fans get in to this hero worship thing where they believe that a great QB can conquer all, regardless of the abilities of the other players involved. It couldn't be that the Pats D is good enough to stop any offense in the NFL. Had to be a QB choke job.

Wow relax, I was kidding. Not to mention that is exaclty the point I tried to make. A great D will usually beat a great O and BB happens to coach great D.

I think this game helped solidify the thought that Manning will be back in Indy next year, not that it really is in doubt. Being 10 points from a SB is enough to make the guy even more determined to get back I would think.Hopefully Venderjagt spouts off again this offseason.

Manning may be a choke artist, but McNabb must be the KING choke artist using the criteria established in this thread. Three picks already tonight.

What a coincidence that on the same day Peyton throws 4 int's, his younger brother Rickey picks off three in Philly! Its sychronicity, man.

This is true. Nice of someone to bump an old nostra-dOMER thread. I sort of miss that hack. :snif:

I didn't know they had such contests, but even more fascinating are those who choose to participate in contests for member numbers.
It was a charity fund raiser. All funds were donated to the Michael J. Fox foundation. It was inspired by an idea from former staff member Ken Maxwell.
