In many posts in the Shark Pool, there is a mention of the posters member number as if it adds to, or detracts from, the insight of the post topic. I happen to put alot of stock in the member number as an indication of fantasy insight. I put the most stock in posts by members with 3 digit numbers and will usually consider the opinions of posters with member numbers of 4 digits (1000-9999). Member numbers above 10000 indicate people new to fantasy football who probably don't have much insight to add on critical fantasy topics. We call these people "guppies" around here and clearly their opinons should be considered very carefully if not outright avoided.

I'm wondering what other sharks think of the member number tiers: where do you draw the line on valid opinions?

Just because the member joined the SP late has no bearing on whether they know football or know FF well. The opposite is also true - just because you've been swimming for a long time doesn't mean that you're a good swimmer.

There is the maxim that it is not what you say but how you say it.

That is how I determine who I read and or seek out within the Shark Pool. I never take membership number into consideration.

And, yes, this is a massive train wreck in waiting.

i dont think member # is very relevant. Im sure 80% of the 10,000+ member #'s are just original members that have been banned by Joe and Co. and they had to make a new alias.

I would add somrthing here but my member number indicates you don't care what I say.

I've checked this website on average 300 days a year for 4-5 years, have been involved with FFL since 1993, and currently commish multiple leagues. Somehow lost my log-in & password a year or so ago and said F-it and just made up another one. Have posted 10 or less times TOTAL in 4-5 years, just not my style. So no, member #'s don't mean jack.

You could always consider changing your name from Mighty Duck to Blind Sheep

The only member numbers that impress me are the single-digiters.

Quick Edit: The difference between Member #42 (Pasquino) and member #3815 (Thread Starter) is 13 days. So in other words, the Thread Starter is saying that he'd pay more attention to Pasquino than someone who registered the same day he did. I'm sure those 13 days made a huge difference, there, bud.

pretty accurate post here
A) Pathetic if you get banned from an FF website.B) Even worse if you create an alias to get back in.
says the guy with the 46k alias nicknamed..."Brew Crew in 2012".To be honest, I don't care what your member number is...As long as you just keep trying to dish out new info and give home town insight...It's the ##### bags that think they know more than you without data or insight that piss me off.Seriously, do we need MOP to let us know if he thinks MBIII will get 40 yds or 80 yrs in week 3.Chances are: if you're in a decent sized league, you're playing every available healthy RB.Do we need Lhucks to question the FBGs rankings?Probably, only because you can see that the majority of staffers disagree and no one is able to 100% predict where guys should be drafted, not because Lhucks's ranking are bettter. It's like a fortune teller you guys you are subscribing to. Hell, I can tell that LT is the bomb, TO is wearing out his welcome, the Falcons will suck, Brees is not a fluke, etc., etc., etc.Paypal me now, for my other gems of 2007.

If you ask me, I think there are only 2 or 3 members on the site. The rest are just aliases created by them, for the sole purpose of providing bogus rankings and misinformation.

I doubt most people here really don't care about anyone else's opinions, regardless of member number. They just want to get their own opinion out.

My member number is 15811. I've been playing fantasy football since 1989. I've been playing IDP for just as long. However 2 years ago I started joining dynasty leagues and searched out a resource for that. It wasn't until then that I found this board. Just because I joined "late," doesn't mean I don't have as much or more experience than anyone on this board. You should maybe look a little deeping in giving value to a member's posts. Your post is as silly as saying all WR's who wear number 80 are good.

Get their opinion out, argue and then repeatedly bump the thread they actually get right. When in doubt, follow the 3 digiters advice, ignore the 4 digits and do the opposite of the 5 digits.

I believe once you join the staff they bump your member number up. Pasquino was most likely in the 3,500 to 4,500 range originally.

:headbang: If I had to guess, I'd say his # was somewhere before 3815 :hophead:
