Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul? (1 Viewer)

Sure the slap was staged. Sure the entire lead up has been staged. Tyson going down in the 2nd might also be the plan. The problem is Tyson. The moment he takes his first punch the animal will come out. Its what made him what he is. Looks to be in phenomenal shape. Still an old man that shouldn't be fighting, but I'll watch just see how the hell he holds up. He just needs one vintage Tyson uppercut. Just one. Go Mike.

Literally just one. Or even a signature kidney shot and this will be over. Paul would fold like a lawn chair.

If Tyson still has that leverage and raw power……Paul has never ever been hit like that.

LMFAO a ****ing circus.
I mean they are running the hype play book from A to Z. It is almost too scripted for me.
But, it isn't. We're talking and we'll all be watching.
Almost all of the hype build up stuff is scripted. I don’t think the fight will be scripted, others feel differently.

The scripted stuff is used specifically to generate interest and get people talking. It is used to target people who don’t usually have an interest in combat sports.

I just mean it's not too scripted for what they're trying to accomplish. This is going to be an enormous event.

I agree. I was only saying it was too scripted “for me”. I watched fights of all kinds all the time so I am not really the target audience. I was going to watch with or with out the build up.

Yeah. I imagine true fight fans are perturbed by this.

Paul is an interesting case study. He’s not overly charismatic or talented. Hes like a carnival barker that you just want to see get dunked in water just so he'll STFU. Cringe AF. Unlikable as they come.

Paul Wins if:

Paul stays outside. Mike chases til he’s gassed enough. We all have to see that Mike has shot legs. Paul holds and while holding, he lays all his weight on ol Mike.

Wins by decision.

Tyson wins if:

If Paul is stupid enough to stand with Tyson, he will get knocked out. He leaves way too many openings and swings too wildly.

Prediction:

Tyson KOs Paul round 2

I'm sure it's been mentioned in here but they are using 14oz gloves instead of the standard 10oz gloves.

Say what you want about Paul but he isn't dumb. Neither is Tyson.

Enjoy the undercard fight because some of those fighters deserve the spotlight.

Then just hope Tyson gets out of there with his paycheck and dignity.

I don't think either of them had any say in the gloves. They both wanted the 10oz gloves from my understanding.

The Texas athletic commission was too scared to use the normal weight gloves because of the age difference, so they were only willing to sanction the fight if they used the 14oz gloves and used 2 minute rounds.

Paul stepped on his foot.

I hope that motivates Paul to stand toe to toe with him tonight.

Watched episode 1 of the netflix doc on the fight and am hooked. Looking forward to the women's bout as well. Haven't been this charged for a boxing event in decades.

Yeah watched all 3 episodes and put a $50 wager on Iron Mike.

Can’t wait to watch. And I am even more pumped for that womens match. That may be the best fight of the entire card.

I finished this late last night. My initial reaction was Paul training camp seems wrong. Appears his biggest goal was weight gain. To get big. Super big. You get big to endure the big hit. The problem is the oversized gloves they are using already helps in that significantly. I'd personally get lean and as fast as I can. Just out speed him, dink and dunk, get the fight in the later rounds and just watch mikes age show. Im not a professional in this topic, but I did use GEICO for many years for my insurance needs. Until I found out I can get the same coverage for way less money elsewhere.

Everyone holds back Tyson, no one close to Paul. We definitely know who the crazy one is.

And I hope Paul sees real punches coming better than that or this will be over super quick.
Slap was definitely scripted.

Real match may or may not be.
Musing: Why script yourself to be a total dipshit? Is that the vibe Paul is going for? If so, it's working.

Well, I'm going on record that Tyson wins this. I would like to add "if" it's legit, but truth is we won't ever know.

I'm still shocked so many of you think this easily goes to Paul.

it's the college Boz, he makes more money off people that hate him I guess

He's obviously very hateable but I would say he's rather exceptionally charismatic - the combination of how easy he is to dislike and how charismatic he is to get out there and be that dislikable is what makes him who he is.

It is rather amazing to me that a convicted rapist and woman beater is fighting a loudmouth media star and nearly the whole world is rooting for the rapist. Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg are both very interesting case studies into American media and redemption.

I think we will know.

If Paul carries Tyson to a decision, then that would almost certainly point to a pre arranged result.

If either fighter gets knocked out, then that would almost certainly point to a real fight as neither of these guys is taking a dive imo. Faking a knockout would absolutely kill Paul’s hope of stringing this along a few more years.

I dunno, as someone pointed out earlier the fact that this is a sanctioned fight and one where money is being legally wagered I can't see how a fix could be involved as that would bring the legal house down on all parties involved. As we all know the only professional sport that is allowed to be rigged is the NFL and that's only because they have the money to keep folks mouths shut. No way do Tyson/Paul have that kind of leverage.

I once had a large deli meat slicer thrown at me pretty hard by a 70+ senior citizen, who still had his muscle mass. I agree with those saying Tyson can absolutely win this.
Maybe Mike can bring a George Foreman grill into the ring.

laughter is one of the greatest human emotions, and someone receiving laughter feels good because you get validation for a great line or joke. So this one act helps TWO PEOPLE at a time.

makes sense to eliminate it. especially in a forum that prides itself on making people feel good.

FWIW, you can legally bet on the WWE now. Betting has no relation any more to whether something is pre arranged or not.

I am still heavily leaning that this fight tonight will not have a pre arranged ending.

Man, we need to hear this story.

Did you get any cold cuts from it?

Nice.

I worked in a butcher shop/deli during high school and college. This guy was a cousin or something of the family that owned the shop and he had a few screws loose. It didn't take much to set him off, and I said the wrong thing one day. Don't even remember what it was. The slicer didn't hit me or I would've been really injured. Those industrial slicers are heavy. They always warned me, "Be careful around Sam" and I definitely learned it that day. Different times for sure.

I know you’re making a joke, but the NFL is not legit. It is sports entertainment and is legally allowed to manipulate the game to make it competitive - seriously, go look it up.

Again, I’m not saying they’re “rigged” but they are 100% without question “massaged”.

I mean Tyson has always admitted to everything he’s ever done - except that rape charge. I think very few people beside yourself believe that that’s a legit conviction

For everyone who bet on Tyson, you all need to chip in and get this reporter to sit ring side so that Tyson can see him. This is the closest to actual murder on tv I have ever seen with no physical contact.

If Tyson can muster up this level of anger tonight…………watch his hands, his eyes, his breathing……..holy hell

I'm 57 and was right there for every second of the Tyson heyday. I'm also the same age as he is, so I know what being 57-58 is like.

He's not 57 like me. And if this fight is in any way real? He'll murder Jake Paul. I'm astounded at the amount of people who don't think Tyson even "has a chance". Mike Tyson was the best boxer in the world, maybe in the history of the sport. Jake Paul has fought a bunch of stooges and MMA guys. I don't care if he's 57-58, he hits with a pop that causes wreckage, even now.

That said, I always live life by the rule of "follow the money" and Jake Paul is the best promoter out there. I don't think getting knocked out by an old guy helps his future promotions and, instead, think this gets him more juice than he's ever gotten. I've heard Paul/McGregor would be next and again, following the money, I'm expecting some organized waltz with a few highlight flurries and a Paul decision (yuk).

The Tyson Paul line has been moving a bit the last few days. I was expecting Tyson to go down to around +100 but it is back up to +185 now on DK. Curious to see where is goes this evening. A lot of steam on Serrano now vs Taylor, pretty much flipped from +120 or so to now -205. I got in on Serrano by decision +160 last night, now +110. I think the revenge factor is what has changed this??I have not watched a boxing match in many many years, never watched a women's match before, they got me hooked on this.

As mentioned earlier, it's just so hard to watch this and not think that age is going to make this too difficult for Tyson. Tyson appears to be a younger 58 year old than Holyfield, but they are both former world champs, and Holyfield did look like a competent fighter going into this. But man... once the punches started flying Holyfield looked every bit a 58 year old.
