Missing Malaysian jet news (1 Viewer)

Which is going better?

A. This thread

B. The search
Trick question... They are equally terrible.
Oh come on, this thread is a classic. At least 200 Christo " :lmao: " posts all while throwing in his expert opinion based on reading pilot forums. Dozens of awesome speculative posts all knowing what the only possible scenario is. Lots of misinformation from news sources. Some good iFighting. What more could you possibly ask for?
This thread will be classic when they find the plane.... In 30 years by some random accident - & the FBG's that are still alive come back to bump their theories that were correct..... Then and only then will this be classic.

I have already bookmarked my correct theories in anticipation. :coffee:

It's 106 miles to the Maldives, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

The pilot of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was the last person to speak to air traffic controllers, Malaysian sources told CNN today. "Good night, Malaysian three-seven-zero," he said, according to the sources. The plane disappeared from military radar for about 120 nautical miles after it deviated from its original course and crossed back over the Malaysian peninsula, sources say. Based on available data, this means the plane must have dipped in altitude to between 4,000 and 5,000 feet, a senior Malaysian government official and a source involved in the investigation tell CNN.

Malaysia Air Force jets scrambled in the Straits of Malacca as a precautionary measure, soon after the plane was reported missing, Malaysian sources told CNN. The jets were scrambled before authorities corroborated the data that the plane turned back westward, a senior Malaysian government official told CNN.

Like I said earlier I haven't been following as closely lately. I turn it to CNN and Don Lemon comes on looking like he's going to jump out of his skin he's so excited with BREAKING NEWS!!!! His expression was such that I thought he was going to say the plane has been found.

Then he says the search has narrowed to 7,000 miles.

I hate those ####ers

Did they just forget to mention this until recently? This is the first I'm hearing of this. Further, you'd think that irregardless of transponder or altitude, Air-to-Air radar should've picked the plane up. I'm not really that afraid of the Malaysian military if their fighter jets can't find a jetliner.

Ridiculous. Malaysia on day 34 finally reveal that they started the search for the plane to the WEST hours after the plane disappeared. Niiiiice! By keeping that info to themselves that they saw this thing head west, this caused time and $ to be wasted when the search began in the ocean by China. They also didn't call off the northern search either until a few days later! Now this is breaking news in more than one way!

Seems the possibility of a big-time Malaysian f-up followed by a cover-up is a growing possibility. Could it be that perhaps the Malaysian military actually shot the thing down accidentally and now is trying to cover it up? Misdirection for a few days to let the debris drift away? It's still doubtful IMO, but possible.

I'll play devil's advocate - maybe the Malaysians were getting conflicting data initially and began to search west because some of that data suggested that the plane went that direction, but it was not conclusive enough yet to rule out that the plane had continued north.

The other thing is that I've not been impressed by Malaysia's ability to coordinate much of anything they've been doing, particularly early on. It's possible that one part of their military took it upon itself to conduct a search in the west while the effort continued in the north.

The point is that it's not so cut and dry that there's deception. I don't really even have the confidence that Malaysian leadership or technology is capable of such a coverup for this long and with this much attention being paid to the situation.

You're 100% right. What was I thinking!

Let's ask the experts.

No. The plane is not in Diego Garcia. The plane was most likely lost by the flight tracker because it entered into Malaysian Military airspace - where it landed - then another plane flew over looking for it - but this was not MAS370 - even Malaysia said this was not confirmed though they said the plane did not appear hostile - the passengers could all have been diverted by military planes after this to god knows where - my guess now is Russia knows - and interestingly Putin is arranging a massive oil deal now with Iran - I think he has diverted whatever was intended for that plane - which was something very bad - and I believe now the passengers are all still alive.

I understand but still should have reported that they went west and why, whether sure or not. This whole thing has been one big shot in the dark. Maybe some resources would have been deployed west as well at that time considering every second is counting with the fdr battery life.

I don't buy all the triangulating nerds figuring out where this thing went into the ocean based on MRSAT pings every hour.

Someone had this plane on their intelligence radar after Malaysia reported to the aviation community they scrambled jets to chase this thing. China probably has footage of the thing hitting the water. :tinfoilhat:

What is the probability at this point they recover the black box? It seems promising they have located it but is there technology to retrieve it that deep in the ocean (along with the rest of the plane)?

Of course they have video. There are 6 billion Chinese fisherman covering the planet at all times with high resolution video equipment. Would not surprise me if they didn't have on film the giant parachute deploying.

Russian drivers have their dash cams; Chinese fisherman have HD cameras.

Yeah, maybe they were filming Deadriest Catch nearby.

You do this all the time and I just want to you to know that I'm not going to sit here idle and let you get away with it.

Without telling you that it's funny, EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Friday's search area was about 18,000 square miles (46,600 square kilometers), centered 1,436 miles (2,311 kilometers) northwest of Perth.

That's far smaller than the search area's size a few weeks ago.

"It's pretty incredible if you look at where we started, which was virtually the entire Indian Ocean. Now getting it down to what's essentially a couple hundred square miles (where the pings have been detected) is pretty miraculous," U.S. Navy Cmdr. William Marks said.
Well, which is it young fella? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, iffen I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And iffen I drop, I'm a gonna be in motion.
