Ridiculous. Malaysia on day 34 finally reveal that they started the search for the plane to the WEST hours after the plane disappeared. Niiiiice! By keeping that info to themselves that they saw this thing head west, this caused time and $ to be wasted when the search began in the ocean by China. They also didn't call off the northern search either until a few days later! Now this is breaking news in more than one way!
I'll play devil's advocate - maybe the Malaysians were getting conflicting data initially and began to search west because
some of that data suggested that the plane went that direction, but it was not conclusive enough yet to rule out that the plane had continued north.
The other thing is that I've not been impressed by Malaysia's ability to coordinate much of anything they've been doing, particularly early on. It's possible that one part of their military took it upon itself to conduct a search in the west while the effort continued in the north.
The point is that it's not so cut and dry that there's deception. I don't really even have the confidence that Malaysian leadership or technology is capable of such a coverup for this long and with this much attention being paid to the situation.
