** Monday Night Football - Falcons at Eagles **(-5.5, 45.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

After yesterdays craziness anything is possible in this one.
I hope the craziness continues and we have a great game to watch.
I'll stay in tune with the week two vibe and say The Falcons play better and pull an upset...

That was maybe the worst defense I've ever seen in a 2-minute drill.

I think the pass call was fine, it didn't work out, but the game is 100% over if Barkley catches it. The game is not 100% over if they run it.
If we run it, they still probably score. And don't even get the ball back.

100% right call.

I'm sick to my stomach. How do we let them march down and score. And how do we not just get 20 yards and let Jake kick it.

It took them 1:20 to score. They would have only had at most 1:00 left starting at the 30.

That keeps Penix off the field like 4 more weeks minimum
Compared to week 1 cousins. I’d say he moved better this week than last, but I’ll give him credit on the last drive. Good decisions, and he had some velocity on the last few throws.

They also really missed AJ Brown on that last play. DeVonta got bumped off the route, otherwise that's a catch, or incomplete at worst. That doesn't happen to a bigger WR.

Doesn't help that blew me a sizable parlay.
That's one way I can tell if a decision is bad.
When betting, I hated the decision to throw as soon as the ball left his hands

Plus, you call different plays on defense if the other team has 55 seconds and no timeouts vs 100 seconds and no timeouts.

I just don't get why they don't run it with Barkley there. There is so little risk, potential to still get a 1st down and worst case scenario you leave Cousins with less than a minute to get a TD.

Brilliant move by Joe Shoen and the Giants shipping Butterfingers Barkley to the division rival
They're like 4 moves ahead of the rest of the league.

Look at all this extra effort I have to do now to laugh at this post

We still have that one.

If FBG master plan was to double the board post count, it’s been very effective.

It took them 1:04 to score. From 1:39 to 0:35.

They basically would have snapped the ball with 0:01 or 0:00 left on the clock on that TD pass they made. Or also would have maybe used a better play call on their 2nd down play.

We lose that game regardless if we run or pass. But passing, gave us 100% chance to win if he makes an extremely routine catch. And also gets us the ball back with a chance to win if he drops it.

In zero way was that playcall bad.

Because Sirriani is one of those super aggressive coaches who wants to show everyone how smart he is rather than calling a run that might seal the game in a more boring way.

But he didn't catch it. He also could have not gained a 1st
he easily had the first if he caught that.

Also, Atlanta likely scores anyways and leaves Philly no time on the clock. That 40 seconds made no difference, Perfect play call.

"might seal it", or throw a routine pass that 100% seals it.

I hate when people do this in sports and criticize the play only based on the result. If Barkley catches that, everyone is praising Nick for a perfect play call that ended the game instead of running it and giving ATL 1 minute to move it down the field and win the game.

It was an absolutely terrible playcall that cost Philly the game. Running could have gotten them the first down, or even a 4th and short where they could choose to go for it and get the first down, or pin ATL deep in their territory, and either way, even if they got stuffed and kick the FG, the ATL drive would not have played out exactly the same way.

Philly coach belongs in the bad coaching thread.

The pass rush from week one was relentless. Watt destroyed the Atl oline all game.

It was non existent tonight.

different how? The defense was completely non existent.

Wrong. You're judging it purely by the result. If he caught that, it would be called an extremely smart play call by analysts everywhere. The box was stacked, they caught atl off guard and it was right on the money. You play out that scenario 100 times and Philly wins it 99 times. You play out a rush 100 times, and give ATL the ball back with 1 minute to win the game, and I'm sure 2/100 times Atlanta would win. Especially with that defense. Perfect play call.
