This is like saying you've never been invited to McDonald's.The :e: board? Yeah I've never gotten an invite. Biggest letdown of my life.Recap:Link?It all started with KCitons
- All of us dumb guys that didn't know about the other forum where shown the light.
- The best of the best here didn't like that they were called out for being "mean girls" (it's ok to call people names, just do it on a different site)
- Once panties got too bunched, mods decided to remove thread.
Result:
- Dumb people are still dumb, mean people are still mean. (only now, the lines between the two are blurred)
- MOP started this thread.
So, same as it ever was.

A good question with a very long answer, again all in good time. Let's say I want to develop a 3rd Party in this country, something much different than the Tea Party and certainly not the same as the DNC/GOP in charge right now. Wealth redistribution would be a simple summary but again we will discuss that more later. I could back off and just get a master's but really there is no point in that. Long term I want to teach at the college level so I am going to have to be published or they won't want me, at least how I understand it.
I see myself as professor at a University at some point in my life, that would make me very happy. Something I can do as long as I desire and allows me the freedom to speak my craziness in front of a captive audience.

I don't think folks know how much the BB thread from last year impacted me and I didn't want to take away from that with my own personal issues. I've been doing consulting work for a while in sales but it is unfulfilling. My wife and I have what we need, a house, each have a car, food in our bellies, IRA/403B accounts, a Blu Ray copy of The Professional, so what else do we need? So instead of grabbing the next fistful of money and also to help me understand my son better I am gonna attempt to teach. I already have met a few of the teachers who asked the principal to meet with me. I do not have any teaching credentials but apparently a 4 year degree can get you started.
It will give me a lot of flexibility in the summer to travel, something I want to do. It will allow me to finish my day and be home at a reasonable time so I can pursue a PhD as funny as that will sound to some of you. I know, but life moves pretty fast and you are here for a flick so I figure after I turn 40 and start the back 9 I might as well give back what I can. I also have had 1 mentor diagnosed with what I believe to be terminal lung cancer and that is weighing on me, then another which I will go into great detail at a much later date, but she was someone who was spiritual influence on me as a kid and I thought much like Obi-won she must be dead by now…she is turning 80 this Friday but has the mind of an 35 year old. So a lot of cool stuff happening and I think there is a good chance I will not get the job, but I will be 1st rotation for the Fall 2014. The current teacher I would be replacing had a nervous breakdown and put her 2 week notice in. They might go with a substitute for a while anyways.

The teacher that had the breakdown had no classroom management skills according to everyone I have met. They said I am to go in there and SET THE TONE…truth be told I'm not gonna do that. I prefer a list of "expectations" over a hard set of rules. I think I actually will be well received, I keep up with a lot of what the students are into and I can use some of that to connect with them. I know I can't appear weak but with my big presence I don't think that's gonna be an issue. Besides what are they going to say to me that I haven't already seen myself? I watched a stripper quit on stage at Tootsie's last week, I've seen it all.

It sounds like their main focus is the upcoming state tests…FCAT I believe as they are referred. I don't know how you can teach if you are just focused on these state tests but I guess it will all come together when we sit down tomorrow.

I took pre-algebra in 7th grade, algebra in 8th, and geometry in 9th. That was some years ago, I don't know your school system, but I am guessing this still holds true for many.

I plan on having everyone watch Mel Gibson's The Passion and let them know that's what happens when you don't finish school and become a hippie loving tree hugger, should drive the message home. Then have an antique turn of the Anno Domino whip with animal bone fragments attached and hang that in front of the podium while I lecture and teach. I don't think I'll encounter any behavior issues in the classroom

Of course they are gonna try. We have a couple we're friends with, both teachers which is what got me exploring this. They said they set off to save the world but quickly learned that's major pipe dream. They tell me each has a couple students that just sit there and do nothing. Just put their heads down and check out.at MOP thinking that middle schoolers won't give him any disciplinary issues.
