It's interesting that at least two women have been crippled by menstrual cramps while out there. Never occurred to me at first that they can't have birth control out there.

the PSR ratings are a joke. sunburn guy and i'm afraid of everything goggles guy should have both gone down.

Birth control pills reduce the intensity of periods and menstrual cramps. Some reduce the frequency of periods. So tell me more about how women work.

I do agree with you on the PSR ratings though. I kind of assumed they were some kind of official thing until last night.

From what I understand, they all do. A girl on birth control can power through without a period by not taking the sugar pills during the week they would ordinarily have a period. Just plow through with a new set of the birth control pills and she won't have a period that month.

That guy was such a #####. In fact, every guy on every show has been inferior to the woman partner.

I'm wondering if Lifetime produces this show.

Great show. Love all the survival shows.

Oh I definitely agree with the above. (except for maybe the last episode however she did outlast Puma!) The females have been more level headed, calmer, and seemed to be more survival experienced while most of the guys have acted like the aholes and whiners but then showed much respect to the females by the end of the show. Final episode next week.

Knowing they need food, fire, protection (feet, sunburn, etc)... you'd think they would be prepared to make those things a priority instead of floundering for days on end. And goggles? Come on!

They all seem intent on using the first day to travel to their ultimate location. But after that I think contestants would be much more diligent in getting to work making fire and getting water instead of fumbling around for two or three days.

Then somehow, after torrential rains and being up all night and into the next morning with her partner and the medical staff, she's sitting there with a fire by the next afternoon and we never saw her making any efforts to build it. I think she wanted to leave, but the producers said "listen, we'll leave you with a fire if you stay."

But why wouldn't they show it? There was like 20 minutes left in the show and it's not like anything else happened.

Maybe she got it restarted with ease and they were shaping the story for her eventually quitting at that point in the program. A quickly lit fire that restored some hope didn't gel with the storyline at that point.

How in the hell could you let a fire that took you three days to light burned down to the point where there weren't even any embers? That was a major screw up on both of them.

I actually thought this was the best episode yet. The chick was reasonably good looking. Other than being a whiner, the guy probably most capable we've seen so far. And yeah, the conditions looked like hell. I can't even imagine strolling through ankle to waste deep swamp nekkid in 50 degree temperatures...not to mention all the snakes and alligators. If one of them hadn't brought a fire starter, no chance they last.

The point of the PSR is to determine whether you'd survive when the option to ##### out isn't available.

Yeah, that guy was very capable. Chasing after snakes right away and killing them? Yeah, that guy knew what he was doing. Was any info given as to how far their original camp was from the one they went to later? The original map said there was no dry land for miles around. With that information I can't imagine the producers would have let them wander off in some random direction without knowing they would find land at some point. I realize the point of the show is for them to survive, but a week of them sitting on a platform doing nothing does not make good TV.

This season only had 5 episodes, right? Should definitely have more for next year. There are some really interesting places they could send the people. The naked thing discounts most cold weather environments but there are lots of deserts and plains areas and jungles that would be interesting.

I only have two requests for next season: less dramatic music and less dramatic narrator. Kind of undercuts the spectacle of man vs. nature for me when they use that music from Lost and then the narrator tells us in harried tones that alligators are crazy man eaters.

Agreed on Louisiana looking like the worst yet. For the most part, there was no source of food and very little to use for shelter. Staying alive on snakes just sucks ###. Can't imagine the dark, damp environment for days on end...especially with all those SNAKES!

I shivered just watching it on TV. I would have had a panic attack within an hour of nightfall on Day 1.

He said he was keeping the sun to his right in order to ensure they were going in the right direction. Agree about it being fishy that they managed to find that island when it was the only one around for miles. Unlike most of you Nancies, I could probably last at least a week out there and Id estimate my PSR to be about 7.5.
