Hello, I have been away, deep in the Mojave Desert with a friend... needed it. I could claim belief in the old weekends off drafting, but that would be a lie. I've been sniped 4 times, btw. 

So @whoever has permission please move Nirvanna Where did you Sleep Last Night to wildcard. 

If I was blessed with wikkid's turn of phrase, I could tell some hair raising stories about my bad marriage and a relationship with a girl nearly as bad as my ex. But the following two picks have long been associated to the two women I loved for all the wrong reasons.

Kimberly was a beautiful girl, inside and out, with a bad alcohol problem and a couple of kids from a failed marriage to a cop who beat her too many times. She supported the kids by working at Pure Platinum, where I was enjoying lunch daily with a couple of buddies. Her stage name really was Joey. She was my girl for couple years, which was about 23 months too long. 20 some years later she has a small piece of land in San Diego's north county and sells eggs and baby greens several days a week on San Diego's farmer's market circuit.

I so loved this vocal and the lyric that hit home, I started a conversation with Johnette (lead singer CB) on MySpace. She invited me (and all her MSpc fans) to join her at Burning Man. I was a single dad and just couldn't make it. Big regret. I still check in on her from time to time. She is/maybe was a mess like Joey.

For the ex, how I felt before I decided to stop letting her in. She was eventually let in to prison for her demons. She hasn't spoken to me in a decade, or her daughter for 6 years. Still on opiates according to my sources.

She wrote the song for Marc Moreland of Wall of Voodoo. According to Johnette, sober Marc was a genius guitar player and the love of her life. He drank himself to an early death. I listened to a ton of Wall of Voodoo and never heard what she did. She said he was rarely recorded sober.

So peaceful and beautiful, love to listen this entire album to just relax. 

The song itself outlines a conversation between a man and his lover; she urges him to come meet her one night. As he is walking and nears their agreed upon meeting place, he wonders whether she will be there or if he will be left alone to count the stars.

while we are clearly in a draft respite a brief update on the drooping face time (drooping quite a bit now)

yesterday doctor office is only doing video-over-phone appointments and the nurse called me back and said the doctor said I had to go to the ER

I went to the smaller town ER and got right in, though had to wait about an hour between the doctor seeing me and waiting on the MRI

MRI didn't show a tumor as the cause (giant relief) but a lot of inflammation throughout sinus cavity, especially behind the ear that has been giving me problems for quite some time

ER doc prescribed an anit-viral and antibiotics for a couple of weeks ...then make an appointment with my regular doc

besides looking pretty scary it's a GIANT pain not being able to fully close the right eye ...constant tearing, clouding but hard to wipe as it's easy to poke your eye

tough to drink ...gotta kind of tilt to the left and try to get it in the left side without dribbling

ER doc says the meds have shown to reduce the face droop time by 5-7 days ...great if it lasts 2-3 weeks ...not much difference if it's closer to 6 months.
