*** NEW ENGLAND v OAKLAND - GAME THREAD *** (2 Viewers)

face it folks. Collins sucks.
He's my QB in two leagues and I'm beginning to think you are right. Not impressed so far. Passes have been off target and if not for a great catch by Moss, Collins' stats are pretty blah. Not what I expected from him.I have Vick in one league and Brooks/Pennington to back him up in another. Could be a long year for me at QB.

 Collins had nowhere to go tonight but up. He had a great first half, and now NE is doing what they do to everybody. Does Manning suck because he gets eaten alive by the Pats? Give me a break. Collins might not be the greatest QB in the league, but with this offense he is top 5, it's that simple.

I thought Porter and Curry played for the Raiders?
Collins throwing to Whitted twice on that last drive. 3 WR sets I think Porter is out there but not getting open.Collins looks dumb as a box of rocks. Not suprised about that.

Moss is letting NE Dbs knock the ball out of his hands. Seen that twice now. NE Dbs making good plays but I think Moss could try harder. He probobly is too unsure where Collins ball placement will be coz it is somewhat erratic. Definitly not crisp like Culpepper.

NE wrs must be hurting a lot for Whitted to be in there.

Troy Brown playing too much. Givens must be hurting too.

This is a good week to trade for Collins, by the way. Decent game against the Pats, something Manning can't even do, but people are going to react badly to it.He's going to be fine.

through almost 3 quarters.

Collins is 7/13 - 2 TDs- 1int - 159 yards --- 1 catch for 79 yards

Moss has 2 catches.  1 was spectacular, to be sure.

I don't think this = AWESOME.

Tough D though, maybe Collins can break out his historical suckiness.

Jordan looks GOOOOOOD.  Dillon didn't, but a nice second effort for that touchdown.

Nice TD by Branch, my apologies Maxie and JoeT.  DRAFT AWAY!
Just for your reference, 159-2-1 through 3 quarters means hes on pace for:3400 yards, 43 TDs, and 21 INTs.

And keep in mind that hes playing arguably the best defense in the league, so we should add at least 600 yards and 7 TDs considering that he'll be playing average Ds the rest of the way.

So that puts up at 4000 yards and 50 TDs.

Of course, I realize this is ridiculous, but I'm just pointing out that hes doing pretty well so far.
Yeah, and if you back out 1 pass....blah blah blah.Stick your Collins sig bet someplace else. He looks like the same average Collins to me.
Your right, he does look like the same old Collins...except on that one 70 yards TD to Moss. So take the same old Collins stats and add 70 yards and 1 TD per game to them, and you'll get what hes going to do this year, which will be a top 3 FF QB.
Go away. He's not even on pace right now. AND THAT INCLUDES HIS LUCKY BOMB!
:goodposting:
Moss making a play = luck?

apparently the same hooch Collins had at halftime.

This is why fantasy football scoring sucks. Dillon has played a pretty awful game yet he's an FF stud this week.

Feel sorry for guys playing against Dillon. Nothing worse than a guy playing like a chump and scoring a couple TDs on ya.

Nice job NFL. Putting the defending champs against a bottom feeder from last year makes for a GREAT idea for the season opener.

 he had a poor first half.i told someone this afternoon that i though the score would be 33 or 34 to 21 for the pats.

1 more drive with NE eating clock and Dillon has a nice yardage night . Already an excellent td and recieving night with the 25 yard reception IMO.

Moss making a play = luck?
Of course not. I like Moss, I think he's one of the best ever. But then, I'm not the one projecting a seasons worth of stats of 32 minutes of play.

The projections for this site you are posting on has Collins top five. You're flabbergasted by this? I think barring injury it is a certainty. Clearly Porter and Curry are not healthy tonight. When they are, you have one of the top recieving trios in the league, and Jordan who has proven he can catch passes. People don't like Collins, fine. His situation dictates elite stats.

Agreed. I thought that too, but I didn't expect SUCH a first half flurry.

Nothing worse than when the RB your playing against gets the ball at the 1 because of pass interference in the end zone.

THE RAIDERS ARE A TOP 5 OFFENSE THIS YEAR!
Really? Maybe in terms of yards - but since they commit penalties every other play - that hurts their point production.

:) You just know Mr. Al Davis was about to soil his 25 year old sweatsuit after the first 25 minutes of this game. Poor old *******.

Edit: Actually, at his age he probably soiled the sweatsuit anyway....

I find it amazing that people are actually critisizing Collins tonight. He is up against a top 5 defense and hes going to post great stats! What is there to critisize about that?

your league(s) give negative points for penalties? If not - penalties just make the field longer and a top 5 offense gets the yards they need

(disclaimer - not sold on the Raiders yet - too little data)
