NFL.com's Game Rewind is an amazing tool (1 Viewer)

Steeler

I might have to miss next week's Steeler game against CHI and I'm looking for a site that will allow me to watch the game "on tape delay". It looks like Game Rewind might be what I'm looking for but I've never used it... can anyone provide some feedback about it?

I subscribed this year, looking forward to using it this season. Fell asleep after halftime of the Steelers game Thursday night and watched the rest of it Friday evening. It's a great service, and is commercial free. Video quality of course depends on your internet speed but even with my 1.5mbps service I was able to go through my wireless laptop with an RGB cable to my 32" LCD and it was still acceptable quality. Nothing like watching HD of course, but good enough. They also have all of 08 games available, and this preseason I watched a number of games from last year trying to remind me why I wanted to pick certain guys. After watching Sproles at the end of last year I made a point to get him on every team as I'm convinced he is more valuable to the Chargers than LT. I don't think I would have remebered how good he looked if I didn't go back and watch the games.

For $40, it is well worth it. NFL games on M, Tues, Wed, Thur for me this season. YIPPEE!

How soon after the game has ended is it available to watch? Next week the Steelers play CHI @ 4:15... can I start watching it at say 8:30 that evening? Or is there some kind of delay involved because the Sunday night game is on?

How soon after the game has ended is it available to watch?
 can anyone that had Rewind last season answer this questionseems cheap enough at $40 if the games are ready early after they finish
Last year at least, the games don't become available until after the SNF game finishes, because they don't want any games showing during live games, I guess. I don't remember if those same rules applied to Monday and Thursday night games. By Monday morning, though, the games were up.

From their website (https://gamerewind.nfl.com/nflgr/secure/registerform): "New games are published to Game Rewind after the completion of the game(s) and will be available to Game Rewind subscribers by 6am EST the day after the game, except in the case of the Monday Night Football game which will be available by 12am EST the Wednesday following the game."

I can tell you from experience (subscribed last season) that the games are not available until monday at the earliest. That is the reason I won't be doing it again this season. I felt ripped off as the wording on the site must be changed this season to resemble what the poster above pasted. Last year it simply said the game would be available directly after the live broadcast. Completely untrue.

Yes, I loved it. It's HD quality video for $2.50 a week. The only small issues I had would be that occasionally a play would be missing (very rare), and you can't fast forward to a certain spot, because the fast forwarding stops at every commercial break. Other than that, no issues at all

Just so I understand..You can fast forward in game to the commercial breaks. Does that mean you have to watch the commercial breaks?

No, sorry if I was unclear. There are no commercials w/ game rewind, the only thing is that fast-forwarding and rewinding stopped at the points where there were commercials on the TV broadcast. If, for instance, you wanted to start watching 6 minutes into the 2nd quarter, you would just have to guesstimate and click on the time-bar a few times until you got to roughly the right spot. Not a big deal at all really.

Thx for the clarity!

I ordered the game rewind package from NFL.com..something like 49 bucks for the entire season.

It's amazing.

For instance, I just pulled up the Vikings-Saints game from last night. I can type in "Adrian Peterson" and it pulls up all his runs. Then I can watch every single carry that he had. Digital greatness!

Sorry if this reads like a promotional advertisement, but if you're looking for the best way to watch specific players, specific plays or even just watch teams in specific circumstances (watch all of the vikings 1st down plays for instance), I can't think of a better tool than this.

Just thought I'd share it with the Shark Pool in case anyone could benefit from it.

That sounds totally cool. Fantasy Player's dream. It is on your PC, I guess?
It's on NFL.com. I'm going to try and hook my computer up through my TV and see how it looks on there..I had the Quality cranked way down at work, but it's supposed to be HD.

Had it the last few years and love it.

The new player search is an incredible idea, but the listing of plays are a little off.

What do you find yourself doing with it? Do you review the run plays when you are trying to make a decision between two RB's or two WR's?

Or look at pass plays against a team your WR's are going up against?

Do you think it gives you any sort of fantasy edge?

I'm not sure when they get the games up exactly. I was trying to find that out, but got a little confused.

I know for instance, that they can't make them available until 12 midnight (eastern) on Sunday night due to contracts, etc.

So they start loading them late at night and they are available sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

I know the Saints game was available this morning at 9am when I looked for it, but I'm not quite sure when it first was posted to the site.

Someone also asked what I use it for...I think it's going to be a nice tool to use as a player evaluator for me. If I wasn't able to see CJ Spiller's game live, and he runs for 60 yards..I'm sure I will get a million different opinions on message boards as to how well he performed.

Using this tool, I can watch all his carries in about 5-8 minutes and decide for myself.

Can you see all the runs in a particular game?

Like I want to see all pass plays from the saints game. How does that work?

Say I am evaluating WR's for upcoming matchup.

I'd do it for $30

If you type in say "Marcus Colston" sill it bring up all his plays, or just his catches? By that I mean will you get to see all his targets? I'd really like to have that option.

I tried it and it came up with 6 plays for Colston..5 completed passes and 1 incomplete pass. So as long as NFL's gamecenter has Colston listed as the guy that the pass was intended for, it looks like it will show you that play. There is a small kink, in that sometimes when you click on a play, the play starts immediately, and other times it takes you to a spot right in the middle of two plays, which means you occasionally have to sit through 15-20 seconds. It'd be nice at some point to click on a play and have the play start within 2-3 seconds, as that would speed up "research" even more, but I'm not gonna complain too much :lmao:

Do you know how they are rendering video - Flash or HTML5? I have an iPad and find myself watching lots of NFL.com highlights on it as they either have an iPad-friendly version of their site or don't use Flash at all. If I could watch these highlights on my iPad from the comfort of my coach as I watch MNF, that would be well worth $50/yr. :coffee:

Will this work on droid phones?
It doesn't work on my iPad or iPhone. Doesn't work on my co-worker's EVOs or Droids either.

This!I can not find it for $40.A promo code would be great if anyone finds one.
Well actually it's coming up as 49 bucks now. I bought it a few weeks ago and I swore I got it for 40. Maybe they had an "early bird" special or something. If anyone finds a promo code, post it!
Weird, I got in for 29.99

Thanks for posting. I went from :) to ;) .Hopefully the NFL wakes up and starts catering to mobile audiences. While they are not as technologically forward-thinking as MLB, they should be smart enough to realize the people who own these devices are the exactly the prospects with the disposable income who are willing to shell out $50/yr for a service like this.

You and your coach watch a lot of football together?

Did a quick scan for coupon codes and didn't see any current ones. Though there is a place to enter them on the payment page.

In looking at some of the previous links to last years coupons (which subsequently redirect you to the current full price page), they all seem to be mid-season coupons. For example, https://gamerewind.nfl.com/nflgr/secure/reg...eason_linkshare.

For example, Midseason Discount = half of price because there's only half a season left.

Anyone know from last year if it shows you only the most recent weeks games? Or can you look up previous weeks as well?

This honestly sounds like an awesome tool for FF.

A note on this.

It's currently $15 for a month, or $50 for the season.

But if you sign up for a month, you can get the season for $35 ($15 off). So if you want to try it out for a month, you won't be paying extra if you decide you like it and want it for the full season.

I can't get the search function to work. The Saints-Vikings game is up for 2010, and all the games for 2009. I can watch full games just fine. But if I try to search for a specific player, it's blank for 2010; and for 2009 it tells me how many results there are (e.g., 18 results on two pages), but each of the pages is blank. So I can't actually view the clips.

And how soon can you begin watching film after the game ends? Do you have to wait until all games end or just the game you want to see? For example - can I watch a game rewind of a 1pm game at 4:30p?
