*** OFFICIAL *** 13/14 Off-Season Dynasty Trade Thread (3 Viewers)

Depends on my roster, but in most cases I take white. I will take what I consider to be three nice years left in white over a guy who, going by drafts most years, might have three good years in his career.

Sure he might be a stud for 9 years. But if you trade pick 8 every year for a guy like white, I think you will consistently have a better team than if you use that pick every year due to bust rates.

Unless you need to rebuild and whites production is meaningless in 2014.

Unless your 2nd WR is Jon Baldwin and you have no more 2014 draft picks, I like this for you.

First trade of the offseason:

Rookie 1.08

For

Roddy White

Rookie 2.08

12 team PPR
I get why someone would make this deal but I still take White/2.08 in most cases
In most cases I take White and 2.08 too but this year with the depth in the draft class I would take 1.08. That is going to be a very good player.
Not that people care too much about the specifics of my league, but it is QB flex, so that 1.08 is even more valuable. Figure you are getting either a top 3 QB or top 5 WR/RB. So I think that makes the case even stronger for the 1.08 being more valuable. A definite win for the team rebuilding.

I made the deal for White though as I had a contending roster with 1 major weakness, no decent WR3 options (Amendola, Emmanuel Sanders, etc.). I was really counting on Amendola last year and it cost me. Didn't want to be in the same boat again in 2014. So this gives me a real short term boost and allows me to run out AJ green, Dez and Roddy for the next couple years. Hopefully one of those win-win trades for both sides.

Thought this one was interesting, same league as previous trade but I wasn't involved

Marvin jones

For

Rookie 3.03

Think I like the Jones side a little bit, but with a deep draft and QB flex, the early 3rd should be a good player also. More upside with the unknown of the 3rd rounder probably. More safety with the solid floor of jones.

Some trades I've seen in other leagues:

12 team PPR (1.5 for TE)

Desean Jackson

Jordan Reed

Robert Housler

Rookie 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders

For

Julio Jones

Jordan Todman

Rookie 2nd, 2nd and 3rd rounders

Jason Witten

For

Andre Brown

Rookie 2nd

Ray Rice

For

Rueben Randle

Dion Lewis

Rookie 5th

Robert Housler

Chris Givens

For

Mike Williams

Miles Austin

robbery, as bad as I've seenNot only give up by far best player in deal and throw in a 23 year old possible starting RB and pick upgrades. That dude should give up fantasy FB

Reasoning – upgrading my top-end WRs. In addition to Cruz and Decker, I have Keenan Allen, Randall Cobb, AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas. Because of this, I felt I could do without the high level depth Cruz and Decker gave me to get Jones who I feel is a top-5 WR. I did have some injuries this past season (Cobb, most notably) but will be able to field a great starting WR corps even if there are injuries.

I gave Edelman

I got 2014 3.1

Already have Marshall, Allen, Cruz, DJax, Wheaton at WR. May have sold Edelman a little too soon, but I think if he doesn't go back to NE his value goes down. If he goes back, I still think NE tries to address WR in the offseason anyway.

I think you didn't get enough. Edelman is still young enough (28 at the start of next season) where I would have held out for a mid-2nd (at the worst).

It's bizzare that Julio Jones' owners would hold onto him all season while he was injured and now sell for far below value.

I kinda get that feeling now and figured someone would say that. I probably could've tried for more, but this same guy was only offering me a 3rd and 4th for Wheaton, who I'd much rather have than Edelman. So yeah, maybe could've gotten more, but considering I still have 4 awesome WRs and a guy with potential in Wheaton, I figured it couldn't hurt.

I dont think you need to give any reasoning for that

Team A Gives

Andre Ellington/Stepfan Taylor

Team B Gives

Justin Hunter/Stedman Bailey
Think I like the Hunter side.

I like Ellington but Hunter would be the guy I want I think. Bailey helps too, I think he has a shot in STL to be their best WR...pre-draft anyway

Well, it gave him the chance to show off that WR corp that his fellow owners should have never let him accrue.

Not showing off - explaining my reasoning behind the deal. If I had had WRs like Jon Baldwin and others of that ilk as my WR3, 4, 5, etc, it might have been a mistake to deal Cruz and Decker. Giving the details can help in the explanation.

Zealots Field league (non-PPR).

Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1flex.

All TDs 6 points.

Gave:

Foles

Hoyer

Doug Baldwin

got:

Flacco

Mallet

Jeffery

2014 3.09 rookie pick

Already had Luck and Wilson at QB so I felt I could trade Foles. Wanted to bulk up at WR.
Same league:

I gave:

Harry Douglas

Andre Johnson

I got:

Aaron Dobson

Larry Fitzgerald

2015 2nd round pick

Reasoning - I figure Johnson and Fitzgerald are pretty much a wash; if anything, I win out as Fitzgerald is a full 2 years younger than Johnson. I think Douglas is at his ceiling, which I don't think is especially high. I think Dobson has a ceiling potentially higher than Douglas; if anything, I win out as Dobson is a full 7 years younger than Douglas. The 2015 2nd round pick should be top 3 as his roster is **weak**.

Hell, even if you were really showing off I would not care. You are out drafting and trading that league by a mile. You pretty much have the all safest top 10, 24-27 year WRs. Just by accident somebody else should have one or two of those dudes and be not willing to trade that guy. Outstanding work.

12 Team Dynasty TE 1.5 bonus

Team A gets

Lamar Miller, Jordan Reed and Denard Robinson

Team B gets

Ray Rice, Ladarius Green and Chris Gragg

12 Tm PPR 1(1.25 TE) - QRWWTFF

Gave:

Cruz

St.Johnson

1.03

3.05

Got:

Julio

Fillers
I just don't understand why people hold Julio all year to make a trade like this
Unless he knew he wasnt making the playoffs and wanted his 1st this year to be a better pick. But yeah, who knows. Maybe the guy with Cruz was trying to win and didnt want to do it.

I wouldnt deal Julio for that, but its not bad. Seen a lot worse

14 team PPR devy league

Gave:

Stedman Bailey

Andre Roberts

1st overall devy pick (presumed to be Gordon--it's who I would have taken and the receiving owner is a huge Wisc. fan)

Got:

Duke Johnson (devy)

2nd overall devy pick
