Brandon Flowers - STEAL corner here. One of the best cover corners out there.
KC crushing.
KC crushing.
Not crazy about the whining and slow 40 times stuff either, but the guy can definitely play and he has the size the Bills covet. Great blocker too.I was a little nervous about him after the whole slow 40 time thing happened, but I think I'd be ok with it if they took him here in the 2nd round. I couldn't find any other character questions with him other than the whining. If he's there and the Bills don't take him, I think that will tell you whether or not he had character issues.WR run starting.hope a good one lasts until the Bills are up. I think I'd love to see them get Malcolm Kelly there.
They'd be stupid enough to take him there.Looks like Colt Brennan will fall to the Bears in the 2nd round.
How solid did their trade down work?? Got a player many thought they'd take in the 1st. Excellent work. From a Redskin board:
Just keep trading down and maybe we can dominate the 7th round
I am now waiting for Henne and Brohm to get drafted.KC is kicking ###...
Everyone's darling Jordy gets drafted.
Redskins were expecting to take Nelson or Kelly there, since it seemed there was no chance of Thomas still being available. To think he was being talked about going to Buffalo at 1.11. GREAT value at # 34.Redskins couldn't pick Devin Thomas fast enough.
And this is news?stupidthe Bears
Barring trades, one of them could very well be a Viking. Which would please me immensely.I am now waiting for Henne and Brohm to get drafted.KC is kicking ###...
Considering we had Mike Martz employed for a while, we should be accustomed to bizarre moves.Just a bizarre organization in general.you are bizarre, bill devaney...
Well, I don't think it surprises anyone that the WR rankings vary differently.Wow. A lot of WRs going off the board and not necessarily the guys we thought would be going.
According to the draft chart they kicked butt on the trade. But that means nothing if you miss players you want. They lucked into Thomas there. How solid did their trade down work?? Got a player many thought they'd take in the 1st. Excellent work.
Man, that would make your very interesting team.....intriguing.Barring trades, one of them could very well be a Viking. Which would please me immensely.I am now waiting for Henne and Brohm to get drafted.KC is kicking ###...
Read he ran a 4.2 40. Hmm....AnalysisPositives: Has a lean frame with solid muscle tone and can add more bulk without having it hinder his timed speed...Possesses large hands, a tight abdomen, good bubble, a bit high-cut, but shows developed thighs and calves...Has impressive strength for a player his size, but the weight room numbers don't always translate to the playing field...Displays blazing speed, quick feet, and excellent explosiveness and change-of-direction agility...Plays with very good awareness, showing the ability to adjust to coverage without having to throttle down...Has generated good production catching the ball outside his framework...Sometimes looks a little tight in his lower base, but is generally an agile and elusive route runner who can rack up yardage after the catch if he is able to elude the initial tackle...Has good hands and body control, and the necessary ball skills to make the tough catch...Has improved his concentration lapses catching in a crowd, but is still a work in progress...Big-play type who works hard to protect the ball after the catch...Quick-twitch type with suddenness...When not challenged, he is very sudden getting into his routes...Does a nice job of working back to the ball when his quarterback is under pressure...Shows crisp speed-cut moves, doing a nice job of dropping his pads and accelerating out of his breaks...Shows fluid body moves timing his leaps and extending for the ball along the boundaries...His change-of-direction agility and body control usually leave second-level defenders grabbing at air...Good zone route runner who demonstrates excellent awareness along the boundary...Finds the soft spots in zone coverage, executing crisp double moves in his route to elude and can easily gobble up the cushion and run by the defenders vs. the level of competition he has faced...Plays the game hard and is not afraid to lay out for a ball or take a big hit...A vocal leader who sets a good example for other players by doing extra work in the weight room and in position drills...Gets upfield quickly using good burst and acceleration, as well as a clean release at the line of scrimmage...Freezes defenders off the line with excellent suddenness and change-of-direction agility...Has enough functional strength to push defensive backs out of their backpedal...Displays an outstanding ability to drop his weight quickly, getting in and out of cuts crisply...Creates good separation with his outstanding playing speed and runs crisp routes, using a good center of gravity to make his cuts...Has the quick feet to plant and make the initial tackler miss...Demonstrates good timing to challenge for the pass at its high point...Will cradle the ball at times, but works hard to get good placement...Can pluck the ball away from his body and reacts quickly to the ball in flight, showing good ability to dig out low throws...Can take the ball all the way when he's out in front of a defense...Very creative on the move and does a good job of holding on to the ball after colliding with the defender...Has very good torso flexibility on returns and also possesses the speed, elusiveness, and agility to be a good return specialist at the next level.Negatives: Has a muscular frame, but lacks the ideal bulk and size to get physical with defenders competing for the ball in a crowd...Has very good suddenness when he gets a clean release off the line, but vs. the press, he dances around too much to get into his route quickly...Has had concentration lapses, mostly when having to catch in tight areas, when he hears the defender's footsteps...Needs to be more alert to low tackles, as he is easily tripped up in the open (needs to sidestep better)...Has good elusiveness after the catch, but is prone to running into spots...Will go for the ball in a crowd, but gets ping-ponged often, resulting in a failure to get to those throws...More of a pest-type blocker, as his weight-room strength does not translate to the field...Will get pushed back by a bull rush when blocking on the line...Has had poor production inside the red zone.Compares To: KEVIN CURTIS-Philadelphia...Avery's suddenness into his routes have some comparing him to Buffalo's Lee Evans, but Avery's run-after-catch skills aren't first-rate and he's easily tripped up by low tackles. Avery's quickness is world-class. He has outstanding change-of-direction agility and does an excellent job of working his feet along the sideline. His speed allows him to create separation, but he must learn to get a better push vs. the jam, as he will dance around too much in attempts to escape the press. He is a quality kickoff returner, but not in the Devin Hester mold. Still, he will be a significant contributor as a return specialist. In a multiple-receiver formation, Avery instantly provides a team with a valid deep threat on the outside.
IIRC he also has KR/PR skills, so that's a major hole patched if he fills that role in Philly.I'd say a poor man's Bush. Neither have proven to be able to run up the middle. Could be a solid 3rd down back with improved blocking. More flashy than good.Isn't Booker a poor man's Westbrook?
tough to knock what the Skins did. If they had taken Thomas in teh 1st, no one woulda blinked.According to the draft chart they kicked butt on the trade. But that means nothing if you miss players you want. They lucked into Thomas there. How solid did their trade down work?? Got a player many thought they'd take in the 1st. Excellent work.
Yep, that's Faletti.Titans fan Faletti pretty fired up
http://nfldraftguys.com/blog/Chris Johnson = worst. pick. ever.

Let's see now, in the last 3 years, the Titans have burned a 1st and 2 2nds now on RBs with tantalizing skills who appear ill-suited to carry the load in the NFL. Chris Johnson is just like Chris Henry last year — the fastest back in the draft with little to show for his speed. Is Johnson better? Sure. But why do the Titans continue to ignore so many other needs when RBs are often found in the later rounds?
The pick of Johnson isn't necessarily terrible in a vacuum, but it points to a disturbing trend. Clearly, the Fisher/Reinfeldt decision team looks first at 40 times, and maybe *only* at 40 times, when choosing their first-day players. Griffin, Henry, Paul Williams, and now Johnson had little else to recommend them at the spots they were chosen. And remember — this is the team that thought Griffin's 40 time alone was enough to turn him from a safety to a corner. That experiment lasted about 2/3rds of a season.
So now the Titans still lack a second pass rusher, still have a shaky secondary, still have no wideouts. And they had Merling, Jenkins, and Thomas on the board and ready to slap on a Titans cap. But hey, they have two of the fastest backs in the entire league.
If the road to the Super Bowl ever transforms into a track meet, maybe they'll get somewhere.
Kids on the PS3 which is the only TV w/ NFLN. I'm stuck with ESPN, they talk over picks, have way too many "breaks".Seriously... why does the WORLDWIDE LEADER even bother televising this?
Great pick. I mocked him there in my three rounder. Lofton is a thumper.Falcons take ILB Curtis Lofton
He was the best Right Tackle in the draft. not sure how that's a bad pick, given how horrible Woody and George Foster were over there. Has a mean streak and high character guy who started almost 4 years at BC - who has consistently produced great OLineman at the next level. Not a sexy pick, but a very solid one and a guy that should start from day 1. I like it.Goster Cherlius> Savior of the Lions
If Allen stays clean until September, he gets both strikes wiped away.HINT: Look at A) age B) contract C) nfl substance abuse policyJacksonville gave up as much to get Harvey as the Vikings did to get J. Allen. Allen is a proven NFL player. To give that much for Harvey is a lot.i think it's because there are not alot of Top end Rush DE in this draft. I think they went alittle high but who says he make any further than say.... 13.Why did they trade that high for Harvey? I'm a Gator homer and I wouldn't take him anywhere near that highly.
I was really hoping he would last to the Lions pick.Great pick. I mocked him there in my three rounder. Lofton is a thumper.Falcons take ILB Curtis Lofton
Vikings should pay for a 2 month vacation to Utah, and take away his car keys.If Allen stays clean until September, he gets both strikes wiped away.HINT: Look at A) age B) contract C) nfl substance abuse policyJacksonville gave up as much to get Harvey as the Vikings did to get J. 49ers could grab him. I think he's a bit overrated.Danny Conner dropping like a stone... very surprising. Many services had him as a Top-15 guy. He's gonna make a solid 10-year starter for someone at LB.
No LB at Penn State ever had more tackles than him. That has to count for something.49ers could grab him. I think he's a bit overrated.Danny Conner dropping like a stone... very surprising. Many services had him as a Top-15 guy. He's gonna make a solid 10-year starter for someone at LB.
Mayo is clearly better, Lofton and Connor are hard to call, imo.Groves is SOD. I'd be on the phone right now trying to move up and take him regardless of need or type of D.49ers could grab him. I also still have Bowman in the Top 10 so you can take my rankings with a grain of salt.Avery and Nelson are good picks, FWIW, since no one in my league is going to read this thread, these are the top secret WR rankings I sent Bloom and never posted...

Top TE on a lot of boards. Workout warrior, hard worker, great speed, nice hands, maybe a better prospect than Clark, but TE is a tough tough job to learn and the competition is fierce in the league.whats the read out on Dustin Keller - wasnt expecting them to get a TE but they need playmakers and this kid looks like he is one - if hes anything like D Clark Im sold - dont care if hes a WR or TE - just dont know why they traded up for him - any info?
