After two weeks, no regrets on my choices EXCEPT Torrey Smith for $16.

So far that is a waste.

He's on my roster too. Not there for consistancy, there for big weeks down the home stretch.

Only problem is I spread out my money on WRs. So a guy like Garcon for the same price would have helped me a lot more.

Sure. But most people that spent $16 on Smith expected more than four catches in two games.

On the fence with Benson, Dwyer, Maclin, Garcon, Olsen

and disappointed with Locker, Hunter, Torrey Smith, Blackmon, Dreesson

My team's still doing terrible. 171.35 with Ryan, Julio Jones and Prater going tonight.

Should be good enough to survive until Week 3 but I'm not optimistic long-term.

Thank goodness I've got Celek/Olsen as insurance for Hernandez.

Harry Douglas out scored Julio Jones for me, I am not long for this contest. Douglas counted for me at 5.5' my non starting players all scored single digits and I lost Aaron Hernandez. Not good. I badly need Garçon to play, I dont expect Amendola to have 37 points each week.

My team absolutely crapped the bed this week. Last week I was sitting at 204.45, this week I'm out with only 115.75. Last season I finished in the top 40, this season I'm out in week 2. Wow... but, that's how it goes sometimes.

On a more serious note, injuries are starting early this year. My RB herd was thinned (Forte), but I handcuffed M. Bush to him at least. Jackson's groin also has me worried.

Ryan actually counted for me, but only gained me .55 points over Fitzpatrick. Julio and Brandon Marshall killed me, as well as only getting 14 points from my 3 Kickers and 3 Defenses.

Totally understand your line of thought, and I agree. The issue is that if they perform too poorly you are also out - so it leads to some paradoxical rooting interests.

For example, for purposes of the contest I was quite happy with Julio's performance last night to thin him out a bit.

Also, I have Graham + Hernandez + Dwayne Allen at TE. I think my ideal scenario here is for Hernandez to sit out until week 6 to thin his ownership, but would really like him back for Graham's bye week.

This is the basis for the closely related theory that it's better to barely skate by the cut in the early weeks as opposed to putting up big scores. Not because you're "wasting points," but because it's assumed that if you just barely make the cut, then a lot of teams similar to your own will get eliminated. If you think uniqueness is important, then this might be plausible.

I don't think uniqueness is particularly important for uniqueness's sake. My thought process in this regard is not terribly different than I tried to articulate about projections -- in week 2 I still feel comfortable with my original projections/thoughts about players (injuries and roll changes excepted of course) to feel that they were generally accurate. At this point in the season, I don't have enough data to make me conclude that I blew any of my picks. As such, I am still of the general opinion that I drafted the "right" team -- as I would imagine most owners who are still alive feel about their respective teams. At the end of the day, no one drafted player X thinking he was the "wrong" choice. To be sure, as the season wears on and we get more data, I may conclude that player X was a really crappy choice for inclusion on my team and realize that if I fare well it will be IN SPITE of him not BECAUSE of him. At that point, I'm forced to root against owners of other superior players at that position. Right now, however, I still like my team about as much as when I picked it.
