5 games for Hamels.MLB ‏ @MLB BREAKING: Phillies LHP Cole Hamels suspended 5 games and fined for intentionally throwing at Nationals OF Bryce Harper.
Oh boy, his next start will be pushed back a day. That'll learn 'em.
What should they do, suspend him for a year or something? I'm surprised he even got 5.
Maybe miss a start?
So 10 games? For that? Please.
He's being suspended for being a loud mouthed idiot. Not for throwing at Harper.

MLB.TV is f---king phenomenal in case any of you were thinking about signing up!

A mere $19.99/mo. gets you every game in HD. The layout is amazing. You can quickly jump from game to game with very little delay, and there are tons of added features. I have my one main 65" HDTV that I watch anything and everything on, then I have my laptop hooked up via HDMI cable to a separate 35" HDTV where I stream the baseball games.

I'm never leaving the house.

Nice.

How do both teams have NOBODY left in the pen? How is that possible? It's not like we're in the 24th inning.
They played 13 on Friday.Today both starters were out relatively early and both teams were using relievers an inning or so at a time.
Still, I knew that situation was really, really unusual:Chris Davis had a better day as a designated pitcher than as a designated hitter.

In the first game since 1925 in which both teams put a position player on the mound, Davis compensated for his 0-for-8 day by pitching two scoreless innings and getting the win as the American League East-leading Orioles beat the last-place Red Sox 9-6 Sunday in 17 innings.

Yes, because the MLB always suspends it's players when they are being loud mouthed idiots.

whoa whoa whoa, the White Sox are putting taking a starting pitcher with a 2.81 ERA and 1.00 WHIP and putting him in the bullpen to be their closer? I thought that was a joke when I first heard that; how in the flying #### could they come to the conclusion that that is anything but an idiotic idea?

It does when they're stupid enough to admit to intentionally throwing at someone.

because his elbow is hurting from being a starter

which i find funny. why not just sit him down for a while? pitching multiple days in a row cant be good for a guy with a girly elbow.

I honestly don't know what is easier on an elbow.

They probably have him on an innings limit this season anyway. I agree that making him the closer is an odd choice. Those are high-stress innings. Surprised they didn't just move him to the bullpen and use him sparingly for a while.

Guillermo Mota suspended by MLB after testing positive for PEDs. This time, 100 games. Drug was Clenbuterol.
just dumb, clen is a thermogenic for weight lose.
Sort of. It has some qualities that would increase endurance. It was what Contador was busted for and he blamed it on contaminated beef.In even low does it can raise your max HR and supports the building of muscle mass over fat when loading.

If I could ever get the proxy to work I would be in for this.I'd pay 20/month just to see the rangers on whatever device I want.

This is my problem, too. You still can't get local teams based on the location of your ISP, right?

there are ways to proxy yourself, but it's difficult.

Anyone watching the Reds/Brewers game? C.B. Bucknor is a complete joke.

Cueto and Greinke have both thrown pitches that absolutely split the plate in half, and he just looks them off.

#1 on my 'how does he still have a job' list when it comes to blues.
It is unexplainable how he can call down the middle pitches balls and pitches 6+ inches of the plate strikes. There literally is no way for a pitcher or batter to adjust to him. It is like he flips a coin every pitch.

colby lewis (who i just traded for btw): 5 hits allowed, 5 hrs, 11 k and at one point retired 18 in a row. Bizarre line

BAL goes back to back to back to start it's 1st inning
Hard to believe that is the first time that has ever happened in Al history. I remember when this happened to my Pony League team, seemed like a normal occurrence after that (we finished 1-17).

Looks like Braun laid the groundwork for guys to start getting out of PED suspensions on a technicality. Great for the game.

NEW YORK (AP) - Major League Baseball dropped its 100-game suspension of Colorado Rockies catcher Eliezer Alfonzo for a positive drug test because of the same procedural issues that came up in the Ryan Braun case.Alfonzo is eligible to play immediately, according to a person familiar with the decision who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday night because no announcement had been made.Mostly a backup during six major league seasons, Alfonzo became the first player suspended twice for performance-enhancing drugs under the MLB testing program when the commissioner's office announced a 100-game penalty last September.Alfonzo appealed and was notified within the past week that MLB had lifted the ban. The reason: a dispute over the storage and shipment of his urine sample similar to the one that led to Braun's 50-game drug penalty getting overturned by an arbitrator in February, the person said.

And now MLB fires Shyam Das, the arbirtrator.

He works for MLB AND the player's union. No conflict of interest, and since he's been in that job since 1999, both sides have generally liked him.
