**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (1 Viewer)

How does a challenge work if there is < 2 outs and the OF goes to catch it, ump rules it a hit and the runner previously on base takes another base or two? Runner allowed to go back I assume?

I picked him up and spot played him last year, watched some, last year didn't match the hype I read during March, nor did the numbers. He was on my radar if I had a need and the value was right, but it never materialized, didn't make him a priority. Haven't watched him yet this year, like you didn't draft him, but...can't argue with production. We will see if this is legit on someone else's roster I guess. If I stay up tomorrow I own Straily so I'll be tuned in.

Is there a more frustrating fantasy SP than Dickey? I finally say #### it after a year of ups and downs and sit him until he looks like a major league pitcher and he's lights ####### out today.

one of those guys that will provide some value when all is said and done, but I can't manage a team with him on it. Don't have the patience. Like you, will sit at the wrong times. Didn't even rank him this year.

It's the knuckleball, man. One day its dancin', the next day it's not. And there's really no way to know which way its going to break unless you're catching his pregame bullpen.

 
Puig is about to prove to many he is more of a bonehead then he is a good player. Shows up late to a game, slides head first into first on a wild throw when he would have been safe by a mile then he gets picked off that base.

What a fool, I like the talent but as a package of ability and smarts he will be toxic and cause Mattingly to lose his mind.

 
This doesn't sound good

Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman said his surgically repaired right shoulder feels worse than it has in the past, even as he waited Sunday morning for the results of an MRI exam.

“Through spring and last year and things like that, it felt good sometimes, it felt bad sometimes,” Zimmerman said. “But it’s never really felt like this, and that’s why I said something.”

After making an errant throw in the fourth inning of Saturday’s 6-2 loss to Atlanta – a miscue that prevented Stephen Strasburg from getting out of the inning and led to two runs, turning the game – Zimmerman went to Manager Matt Williams and said his shoulder would prevent him from playing further.

It was a dramatic step for a player who has been a cornerstone of the franchise, and whose $100 million contract extension begins this season. Zimmerman said no decision has been made on whether he will go on the disabled list; a doctor was headed to Nationals Park to review the MRI on Sunday morning. But he is clearly at another low point with a shoulder that first caused problems in 2012.

“It’s just sore,” Zimmerman said. “It was more sore yesterday than it usually is. The last however many years I’ve played when it felt good, I’ve played when it felt bad, and yesterday it felt worse than normal. I thought it was the right thing to tell Matt and see what we’ve got.”

Only pitches I've seen with better movement than his are kuckleballs. Not sure what he calls that pitch whether it's a gyroball or whatever, but he's got some evil stuff. This may have been posted last year, but it's worth another look.

Just inflammation. My guess is another cortisone shot. It's kind of his thing. Doesn't fix the problem at all, but they only need him to get through this season, after that LaRoche is done and he'll move to first so Rendon can take over at third.

Cabrera's glove costs the Tigers runs constantly. Should they sit him?

Obviously it's never that simple. He's a career .286/.352/.477 hitter who went for an .883 OPS the first week of the season. Those guys don't grow on trees. The defense is costly- but if you bench him that means Espinosa at second. Espinosa's career numbers aren't awful, but if he hits like he did last year it costs the team a lot more than Zimmerman's arm.

My guess is he sits a few days to rest the inflammation, then starts playing 1B when they face lefties and stays at 3B but gets relatively frequent days off against righties.
