Everybody seemed optimistic this morning then the MRI came back inconclusive. Think that's when they knew it was bad. Even Maddon said he's just hoping for the best now.

Hearing Matt Moore's elbow injury involves his UCL. If tear small enough, could rehab, pitch through. Often ends up with Tommy John surgery.

I'm just not sure he's ever going to be what people thought he might. And who knows, maybe TJ is what he needs to have.

Even with 17 wins last year Moore wasn't even a 2 WAR player. 1.8. Whoever (Bedard/Ramos/Karns) fills his spot won't be too much of a drain on the rotation, and they'll likely be much less of a drain on the bullpen.I mean, it was only two starts, but he didn't look good in either and got killed in the spring. Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton will undergo surgery on his injured left thumb, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Hamilton hurt his thumb on a head-first slide into first base Tuesday. He was scheduled to have an MRI Wednesday, and testing has revealed a complete tear or the ulnar collateral ligament in the thumb. He'll be sidelined six-to-eight weeks while recovering, putting him on track to return in the second half of May.

Awesome. I miss Earnie Harwell, he had these stories too. Baseball fans that didn't grow up listening to these guys (Jack Buck, Harwell, Mel Allen, Harry Kalas, Vin) missed out. Ernie made baseball my favorite.

He hit a leadoff homer last night, hit it damn good too. All he has to do is slap it to the left side to reach, he did that tonight. He's a fantasy asset if he can produce a .320 OBP or so, he's looked good so far.
