I saw on twitter some site had him at 6.Ramsey wasn't even listed in the top 15 prospects for the Cardinals at BP, seems like a fair exchange. Having a good year at AA, could crack the top 100 next year but he is 24 already.

#6 in cards org for the mlb midseason ratings. He's rising though, interested to see what prospect community says about the trade. Not even.24yr old at Double A that's at best the Cards 4th best OF prospect? Meh.
Well it's not like there was much sense in keeping him no matter what, but he's been brutal. Very odd.Cubs look smart for unloading Hammel
Isn't Taveras in the majors? Not even.24yr old at Double A that's at best the Cards 4th best OF prospect? Meh.
1. Taveras
2. Piscotty
3. Grichuk
4. Tilson
5. Ramsey

Wacha was xfered to the 60 day DL.Seems like he's of not much value to the Cards, but at the same time they're giving him away cheaply. Masterson's not really better than what they have, unless he's somehow past his knee thing now.
Only underrated Yankee EVAHBrett Gardner is hitting all of the home runs.
Not a one-year wonderIs Kluber forcing his way into keeper discussion or is this a one year wonder?? Seems like he's getting better with each start.
I remember Eephus saying the same thing about Wally Bunker. Not a one-year wonderIs Kluber forcing his way into keeper discussion or is this a one year wonder?? Seems like he's getting better with each start.
Agree. Was quietly pretty good last year too.Not a one-year wonderIs Kluber forcing his way into keeper discussion or is this a one year wonder?? Seems like he's getting better with each start.
Sounds like it's the A's, for Cespedes. Gomes moves too.Passan just said on Twitter that Lester has been traded, but no details on where to or who it's for
ETA: Just saying it's a team on the west coast
WTF? I assume Lester will sign an extension with the A's?Holy Hell... Lester/Gomes to the A's for Cespedes? Speier now confirmed it.

Trying to confirm, but hearing Lester and Gomes might be moving for Cespedes
Can't help but feel that the Sox/Lester have an agreement in place that he'll be back this winter. If that's the case, then this is a slam dunk for a team that is going nowhere this season.Cespedes can opt for free agency after 2015 and has struggled lately, it sounds like a better deal for the Red Sox based on his name/reputation than it actually is IMO. The A's are stacked though, holy ####!
Yeah if that's the case then it sets the Red Sox up very nicely for next season. Can't help but feel that the Sox/Lester have an agreement in place that he'll be back this winter. Kind of agree with this, he's not a good OBP guy. Billy Beane obviously sees things he doesn't like in Cespede, which makes me wary.Cespedes can opt for free agency after 2015 and has struggled lately, it sounds like a better deal for the Red Sox based on his name/reputation than it actually is IMO.
I don't see this.RnR said:Can't help but feel that the Sox/Lester have an agreement in place that he'll be back this winter.Northern Voice said:Cespedes can opt for free agency after 2015 and has struggled lately, it sounds like a better deal for the Red Sox based on his name/reputation than it actually is IMO. Yea - .294 OBP last year and .303 this year. That's pretty bad.Jefferson the Caregiver said:Kind of agree with this, he's not a good OBP guy. Cespedes still has value for his power and defense, but yeah, I'd say the A's did well here.Yea - .294 OBP last year and .303 this year. Having said that - good trade for Boston. No chance Lester re-signs in Oakland.
Yeah, but a team that is going nowhere this season is always gonna come out ahead on a guy who's a free agent after the season. The question isn't whether they're better off with Cespedes than Lester, but whether they could have gotten a better return than Cespedes once they decided to trade Lester. I think it's possible. There's a lot of contenders with big holes at the top of the rotation; I feel like even more than usual. Orioles, Braves, Pirates, Cards if Wacha is done, Milwaukee if they had any prospects to deal. Cespedes is a quality pickup if they feel they absolutely need to compete next year, but if not I bet they could've done better by going the prospects route.RnR said:Can't help but feel that the Sox/Lester have an agreement in place that he'll be back this winter. Would take Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Avery of early 90s over the A's quartet for sure. The A's 4 man playoff rotation might be the best one in the past 40 years.
Can't think of a better 1-4... maybe some of the Braves of Maddux-Glavine-Smoltz and Millwood or the 2003 Yanks, Mussina, Clemens, Pettite and Wells
2011 Phillies were better. The A's 4 man playoff rotation might be the best one in the past 40 years.

1993 Braves were good yes, Avery was kind of shot after that. I didnt know if Good Avery and Maddux overlapped, that would probably be tops.Would take Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Avery of early 90s over the A's quartet for sure. The A's 4 man playoff rotation might be the best one in the past 40 years.

that was pretty sick... doc, Lee, Hammels and Oswalt... this might be my real favorite.2011 Phillies were better. The A's 4 man playoff rotation might be the best one in the past 40 years.
