With the way things were going tonight, I thought I was going to have to break out Gail Goodrich and Happy HairstonI knew you guys would eventually see the humor in this shtick.
Paps probably needs to get a good 20 games for that one. The gesture coupled with the contact.Implosion then a complete meltdown on the umpire by Papeldoosh.
Yeah, going 1-6 against this year's version of the Red Sox is not exactly what you're seeking.TobiasFunke said:Media is going to town on Ned Yost, and rightfully so:

AL Central is basically over, right? IIRC the Royals still have a game to complete that they're trailing 4-2 late, so the margin is actually two games.
I checked after I posted this and saw that they still have a head-to-head series left in KC, so not quite over. But not great.Yeah, going 1-6 against this year's version of the Red Sox is not exactly what you're seeking.TobiasFunke said:Media is going to town on Ned Yost, and rightfully so:

Joe West needs a couple too.
He fanned 8 straight Marlins to start the game tonight. Tied Jim Deshaies' modern MLB record. This deGrom fella is something else. The M-E-S-S look to have a sweet rotation next season.
Uh, yeah.Speaking of deGrom, I have him I an auction keeper where we can only keep 4. Is he a no brainier @ $1?
Absolutely.Is he legit?
No, but there's no shame in that.Like young Chris Sale good?

Most unlikable person in baseball. And the load of crap he spewed in the locker room interview? That's right, Paps. You have no idea what Cowboy Joe was talking about.
The guy can't meet Dr James Andrews soon enough.
obviously it would depend who your other options were but hes not on Sale's level. Like RN said, not many areSpeaking of deGrom, I have him I an auction keeper where we can only keep 4. Is he a no brainier @ $1? I hate keeping pitchers. Is he legit? Like young Chris Sale good? I've never seen him pitch.
in a four keeper, unless my bats blow or I have a Chris Sale like arm for cheap, I'm keeping four bats.Speaking of deGrom, I have him I an auction keeper where we can only keep 4. Is he a no brainier @ $1? I hate keeping pitchers. Is he legit? Like young Chris Sale good? I've never seen him pitch.
Guy is a huge doosh, but not sure his jock grab warranted an ejection. Seems Joe West was being an unnecessary attention hog. What did Nathan get for flipping the crowd? 5 minutes of scolding from the internet?Gets 7PapPaps probably needs to get a good 20 games for that one. Yeah, this changes things. He does have a bright future though.
Yeah, this changes things. He does have a bright future though.Yeah, pitching was incredibly deep this season. I've never seen anything like it. Three teams in my 13-team roto league with sub-3.00 ERAs. Meanwhile, offensive numbers are way down. Keep the bats, unless you have a top-flight arm.MAC_32 said:in a four keeper, unless my bats blow or I have a Chris Sale like arm for cheap, I'm keeping four bats.Annyong said:Speaking of deGrom, I have him I an auction keeper where we can only keep 4. This was during the heyday of card collecting. I remember one of the early blacked out versions ended up being even rarer than the f-face original. And it set off a feeding frenzy as collectors started identifying other rare versions of cards that hadn't been discovered before. Did anyone ever do an exposé on how Beckett artificially inflated card values and victimized a generation of kids?

Almost got in a fight with a Beckett employee in a bar about 15 years ago in Texas regarding this.Did anyone ever do an exposé on how Beckett artificially inflated card values and victimized a generation of kids?

I wonder if any team has ever won 2 games by 8+ and lost 2 games by 8+ within a week before.Colorado whuppin LA
Otis Armstrong TD and three Jim Turner field goals?Colorado whuppin LA
Cocaine and cheap women, can't say I haven't been there myself. So add adulterer to Ron Washington's resume.

Not really much else to tell. Overheard two guys sitting next to me talking and realized they worked for Beckett. At first I thought it was cool actually meeting a real person from this entity. But then I asked how it felt ruining the hobby, and then I started raising my voice. Guy bristled up and my cousing walked me away from the situation.Oh come on.. don't leave us hanging.Almost got in a fight with a Beckett employee in a bar about 15 years ago in Texas regarding this.Did anyone ever do an exposé on how Beckett artificially inflated card values and victimized a generation of kids?

Really rather silly a 30 year old yelling at a guy at a bar about baseball cards.
 this is good stuff
this is good stuffThrow a few ####faces in thereYou need to embellish that story a bit more. Kind of boring.
Yep. Worked in a baseball card shop from '90-'93, and I think there were up to 10 different variations of that card. The scratch out on the handle was the most rare one if I remember right and we had two at one time, pushing the Nolan Ryan rookies out of the top spot in the display for a few days. This was during the heyday of card collecting.
