**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (4 Viewers)

Pretty sure there's a product out there that will let you watch any game at any time. If the Red Sox/Yanks really grinds your gears, it might just be for you.

meh

I already pay extra for the MLB network

They've played 3 times so far. First 2 games on MLB, and the 3rd was the ESPN game of the week

Again tonight.........MLBN again.

Andy McCullough @McCulloughStar

Salvador Perez broke Rusty K#ntz's arm with a line drive in BP. K#ntz needs surgery.
Excuse me while I tip my 40 for the rustiest K#ntz around.
Is it true that Sal Perez only makes contact during BP?
Yeah, he's been horrible along with Billy Butler and the rest of the Royals. Really hoping Perez is a long-term keeper but even when he hits, the homers aren't there. He can really rake too, but his power one hops the wall mostly. Was hoping he'd be a 20 HR guy this year, at this point I just can't wait until he hits one (Butler also).

Posnanski wrote a quality blog post yesterday about the fact that somehow a Royal has never hit more than 36 HRs in the season. Seems unfathomable.

That's an amazing story, love it.

It's interesting because somebody has to be lowest but it's not that statistically unfathomable. The mean of all clubs' HR leaders is 52.9 with a standard deviation of just under 8. The Royals leader is around two sigmas below the mean. Bonds and McGwire are more than two sigmas above, which is about the kind of distribution you'd expect given a relatively small sample size, different ballparks and the PEDs era.

Balboni's 36 sounds a lot lower than the Mets' record of 41 but there's really not that much different in the grand scheme of things. At some point, the KC record will be broken and Balboni will waddle out and wave to the fans. It'll be a nice feel good story for everybody involved. Chances are it's not going to happen this year though.

Guess albert just had a bad year last year. As much as i like teams waste money on big contracts, albert playing well is good for the game imo. Im rooting for him to continue mashing

Me too. I didn't think he was on some sort of path to the BJ Upton level, guy was just hurt a lot last year and had an off year in 2012.

I'd love to see him keep this up.

Amazing to think that, for as amazing as Miggy was when he hit age 30, his decade almost pales in comparison to what Pujols did from age 21 to 30.

Umps just lost a pitch on the Rays game, went to replay, still missed it, then punched out Escobar on a 4-2 count. #umps #math

Jose and Wood combined thru 8: 25 Ks, 0 BBs, 7 hits, 1 run. (Wood's done but Fernandez might be coming out to finish it off.)

Looks like Wood's 2nd straight 1-0 loss.

But at least Cano is rich! :lmao:

He was jogging to 1st base during pennant races in New York. I cannot wait to see how utterly disinterested he becomes in southern Vancouver when they are 14 games out in early July.

July 31 2015, he gets traded back to the yanks at 60 cents on the dollar
Doubt that. Seattle has a good young core including some awesome young pitching talent. I think they are trending upward and their owner wants to spend money.

He has I think 6 or 7 homers in about his last 90 games. I think the natives might get restless. That hot angel series seems like an eternity ago

It'll really take a lot for Seattle baseball fans to become as restless as Raider Nation is during his deepest REM cycle on the longest night of the year.

He was dealing with alot of nagging injuries for most of the year before finally deciding to shut it down. Looks much better this year and back to his old ways. His AVG is lower than usual, the power looks to be there.

I'm not sure I'd declare him back to his "old ways", he set some pretty high standards through the mid 2000s. I'd say he's back to his 2011-ish form, and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, it's not exactly his top level. Those days are likely gone for good.

I hope not, but I get a bad feeling we're about to see Miggy go through a similar cycle.

He got hurt last year on Aug 31. Since then, he's had 160 PAs at a .721 OPS clip. I haven't looked it up, but I'd assume Miggy has never had a 160 PA stretch of Mitch Moreland level production (except maybe as a rookie).

Cano is the least of this teams worries. Every single one of these guys looks lost up there at the plate. They make unknown journeymen look like Cy Young winners, over and over again. For the last 13 years it's been this way. Every year we have hope that these young guys will finally put it together, but we are still in April and it's already looking like every other year around here.

Welcome to life with Lloyd McClendon.

Hyper-extended knee for Wainwright. Stay tuned for what that means for his near future.
Any news?

Picked up CMart trying to be proactive.
Wainwright claims he's fine.
I SAID I WAS BEING PROACTIVE(not the pimple cream either).......oh wait, maybe I was being reactive(oh well)

Guess I can still hold Martinez
i have to face the guy again on sunday, so trust me, i hope his leg falls off. i feel like my priorities are in order. i haven't been this happy since mike james broke his ankle on the first drive of that monday night game.

FWIW, I think Martinez is a strong hold. Rosenthal hasn't been awesome in the 9th this year and there is already one Cards starter (Kelly) already shelved.
