I want to thank everyone who adds any information on training camp and preseason into this thread.

Tevin Reese (7th-rd WR Baylor) getting positive buzz in Charger's camp

Rookie receiver Tevin Reese, running a stop-and-go, got behind Brandon Ghee and caught a long pass from Kellen Clemens.

- Tevin Reese was the star today. Dropped a pass early but after that caught everything. Badly burned gee on a double move deep. There was no one within 10 yards of him, looked like a solo drill. His speed is evident but he also showed enough wiggle to beat press coverage. Also stayed after practice to work on punt returns.

WR- Reese burned Ghee for a TD close to the end of practice double move

During a no huddle portion toward the end of practice, he lined up out wide with Kellen Clemens under center. Then Reese showed why they call him “Sweet Feet” as he stretched the defense on a deep vertical route resulting in a touchdown.

“That is rare speed that Tevin has,” Clemens explained. “With a guy like him, you just throw it up and he’ll go get it. It’s tough to over throw him. He also has great ball skills when it is in the air, so he is going to be a great weapon for us.”

Reese broke out in a big grin talking about that play as well, but gave credit to Clemens.

“He called the play at the line of scrimmage and I just wanted to go out there and make a big play for the quarterback,” he said. “We were doing two minute and no huddle, and he gave me the look right before he snapped the ball.”

Still, it wasn’t just that big play that had the fans at Chargers Park screaming “REEEESE” throughout the day. Defenders respect his speed and the threat of going over the top, so he uses it to his advantage to get open underneath. He showed precision in his breaks as well to separate from the corner on shorter, intermediate routes.

-------------------------------

Reese #84- No one performed as well as #84. Time after time I watch Reese break his route and make every catch asked of him. During the late practice he lined up wide and simply ran deep. Whether it was the coverage or the DB on a couple of occasions he broke it out and showed off his speed. On one memorable play he began with a fly route from the left side. The QB had to smile when he looked deep and saw Reese getting behind the defense. Reese had 15 -20 yards on his nearest man. Clemons threw a strike to #84 who was waiting for the ball to arrive but made the catch and took it the rest of the way.

Play of the day: Rookie seventh-round draft choice Tevin Reese shook loose on a double move for a 40-yard touchdown against cornerback Brandon Ghee on a pass from backup quarterback Kellen Clemens. The play capped a solid day for Reese, who ran crisp routes and caught the ball well during 1-on-1 drills.

Standouts of the day- Tevin Reese WR Baylor- who turned in an almost perfect sheet. No drops, fumbles or missed assignments seen and one huge TD!

His Chargers teammates have given Tevin Reese a nickname--Sweet Feet--and enjoy watching the rookie speedster from Baylor scoot across the grass.

"Kid can smoke," quarterback Kellen Clemens said.

Talking about the slender Reese, receiver Malcom Floyd invoked a well-known undersized pass-catcher.

"That's how DeSean Jackson was -- little and fast," Floyd said. "He shocked the NFL."

It's one thing to be fast, another to play fast, but Reese led the NCAA with 21 career touchdowns of at least 40 yards and on Day One of training camp Thursday torched Chargers newcomer Brandon Ghee on a stop-and-go with Clemens.

Throughout the practice, Reese drove off cornerbacks wary of blow-bys, only to turn and catch a shorter pass. He said he devoted the last month at Baylor to coming back to snag passes, rather than turning and awaiting them as he had in Baylor's option-read offense.

When Ghee, a fifth-year player, charged in anticipation of quick out, Reese jetted upfield and Clemens hit him with Ghee several strides behind.

"We noticed our guys had gotten a little aggressive, so it's important as an offense to complement your routes, and he went and got it," Clemens said.

Reese is improved from the five spring practices open to the media. He is more assertive, better at double moves and more apt to pluck the ball. The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder confirmed his blocking needs much work.

"I'm not where I want to be," he said, "but I'm not where I used to be."

Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal top the depth chart. Behind them, likely two to three spots are for the taking.

Brown figures to have the tightest grip on one while speedy seventh-round pick Tevin Reese has impressed early.

-- Chargers rookie receive Tevin Reese, who has looked impressive during the first two days of camp. McCoy mentioned Reese as one of the young players who has stood out during the early portion of training camp.

McCoy singled out Reese, who worked at wide receiver with the second and third team offense as well as duties in the kicking game.

“Tevan’s made a lot of plays. He made a lot of plays today and did a nice job.”

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Usual players stood out, Reese again can fly and catch the ball! He is interesting

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Reese vs Williams- Tevin Reese had caught many passes but this one showcased his skills as a WR. Everyone knows by now that he is fast but he ran routes underneath so often that his fakes become difficult to ignore. Steve Williams is running really well and looks very fit and he had Tevin covered the first 40 yards but some how lost it when the ball came sailing in. Reese had a few steps on his man and as the ball came sailingin Reese had to lay out and he did. Reese made a spectacular diving catch near the sideline that drew ooohs and ahhhs from the crowd. Williams was burned on this play but then Reese has been doing that to everyone.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

15) The new camp favorite is Tevin Reese. I am confident he will make the 53-man roster, and I believe it will come at the cost of Ajirotutu or Vincent Brown.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Tevin Reese @TevinReese doing exactly what he said would do when he was drafted. Turning heads! Impressive.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

3 days, 3 long TD catches for Tevin Reese. Really taking advantage of his reps #ChargersCamp

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Reese is a twig, but he just glides out there

Reese making the grabs look easy. The rumors of his poor hands may have been just that.

Reese! Go route just out runs Stevie Williams

Reese fights to get back to the ball but can't make the cAtch. Gotta make those grabs in games.

Reese with a nice 15 yard out grab. Kellen Clemons really locks into him.

Reese with another grab and a double move up the seam.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

and yes, Reese can fly... he might have won a roster spot today... if he plays like that in a pre-season game, he's likely to...

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Player of the day Tevin Reese. Made consistent plays and flashed speed. #ChargersCamp

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

WR - Allen, Floyd, and Royal are locks. Reese seemingly has taken over the #4 spot. He just brings a different dimension to the group.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

Reese looks small compared to the others- even though they listed him at 5'10", 170. I thought he looked like Spiderman out there- great body control and caught every pass thrown to him while I was there. Not just GO patterns, but adjusted and came back to QB, over shoulder, etc. He can really pluck it well away from his body too. As much as I was skeptical before seeing them, both Inman and Reese looked like legit prospects, but still need to see them in games.

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

The new guy 84 looks exciting. He was super quick and elusive. Tevin Reese is the name, the kids in the audience all were yelling Sweet Feet!!

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

I very much like Reese so far. He has shown me much better hands than i thought he possessed and he is not a bad route runner . He was nearly perfect on his first practice but did drop a couple of passes since. Not terrible concentration drops but the type that seem to happen in traffic. He can be coached to overcome those with concentration but the real reason may be his size and confidence when being hit. Reese is frail but does possesses a unique ability to get open deep and that is why he is here. So if he makes the club it will be because he can deliver that home run threat often enough while giving the offense another dimension. He may also prove to be a good return man if he chooses to put his health at risk. We have to wait and see if the coaches give him that opportunity.

full charger's camp reports here

Jesus. Every other story is Browns/Manziel on NFL Network. There are 31 other teams in training camp.
Don't they visit all 32 teams? I figured maybe they started out in Cle? I have seen more Browns coverage in the last 2 days than I have seen in the past year.

Sounds like Lamar Miller looks good so far. Hmm... shied away from him so far but might take another look.
It has never been a surprise that Lamar Miller is a phenomenal talent with the ball. Dude just can't block, so he is a liability in the pass game.
