Official 2015 Cowboys Thread- 4-12. We won the 4th pick! (1 Viewer)

I am very impressed with their ability to find a way to lose. Its uncanny how good they have gotten at this the past 7 games.

Imo, since the window is small, Jerry is okay bringin in a greg hardy to put em over the top.......this dude is a first class POS. The real leaders in the locker room can't be happy about having hardy.
Charles Haley, Lawrence Taylor, Warren Sapp and Randy White were all crazy POS and seemed to win just fine.
Randy White may have been crazy, but what did I miss that would lump him in with those degenerates?Worst thing I can remember is him driving his pickup truck through the picket lines to play with the scrubs during the strike.
Grandpa was police officer in Virginia area and there were many a stories of Randy White clearing out bars in DC area throwing chairs bottles etc. plus from what I've read he was a pretty intense locker room character. Only 35 so he was before my time.
I'm only a bit older, just enough to remember the '85 strike, ha. I wouldn't doubt the stories, seems to fit his intense personality, on and off the field. Sometimes that's what it takes to be a great player, but that's not the same as hitting a woman (or worse).
The time to be all indignant about the Greg Hardy signing was last summer, not the Monday night game versus the Eagles. I heard none of this kind of talk back then.
you weren't listening

Bunch of possible free agent quarterbacks next season. If Romo does retire, that would open a lot of cap space and they could get whomever they want. or just go the draft route with the top 10 pick they will have. wouldn't surprise me that if Romo does retire, Witten will too.

Romo didn't look good when they showed him before the game. White as a ghost and sweating Could have been seriously ill but what are the options?

Oh how cute...you're gonna start up with this again. Can't wait for your buddy Cobalt to come in and put the little 'tm' tag on it. Why is Romo's career suddenly done? Guy took a couple of bad hits and gets hurt. Not a whole lot to do about that. Take any elite QB away for the year and see how many teams make the playoffs.

There was serious playoff run talk at the beginning of this year. Why would next year be any different? This team is built to win now. 2015 was stolen from us, but this talk of Romo retiring and rebuilding is just ridiculous. If anything, the pressure's off now. Winning out the year, even with Romo was always a pretty tall order. Now we know that's not gonna happen and can focus on next year. Sucks to say that on Thanksgiving, but that's the way it is.

The silver lining to this terrible season is that Dal is so bad they might be in position to draft the Romo successor.

They need a QB badly. Romo can't hold up and he's getting old anyway. They backup options they've tried have been pathetic.

Exactly what I was thinking. They should have a shot at a potentially franchise QB

It's time to plan a transition. Jones was exceedingly lucky to find Romo in the first place, he was a Sean Payton project, he plucked Rono out if his alma mater. Jones' idea of a good young QB? Manziel and other disasters like Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson.

Trade 2016 first rounder for Manziel imo.
Or save the pick and just pick him up when he's cut by the Browns.
Yeah I think the Browns would be thrilled to get a late pick for Manziel at this point. Not sure anybody but Pettine is still on the hype train.

it's funny. Colts have lost Luck for 4 games this season. They're 4-0 in those games. Steelers have lost Big Ben for 5 games. They're 3-2 in those games. Hmmm, what does that tell you?

Love it when the Eagles fans pass judgement. Everyone should take a day and go read their thread. ?One minute they "stole" the Great Murray from us (bust); next they are going to kill the East; next they are screaming for Kapercrap for QB; then the referees are always against them in every game; ano the Great Savior Chip is a fraud who ruined their prom; and then smear in 12 months of "your not a true fan/ no you aren't/ no you are a hater/ no you are/my pee pee is bigger than yours/ no mine is!!!" Dude it's hilarious.....

But thanks for coming in for advice from us 5 Timers. ?

ahh, the early 90's. What a great time to be a Cowboy fan. Lol. I thought we were talking about this season. You always know when Dallas sucks. They want to turn back the clock two decades. Oh by the way, the healthy Romo was horrible yesterday. He wasn't the problem.

Seems like a truly odd time for an Eagles fan to be talking smack in ANYONE else's thread.

Not talking smack. Eagles are horrible. Only one game less horrible than Dallas. We suck. Hope we fire Chip tomorrow. Just tired of hearing people use the excuse of Romo being hurt when better quarterbacks than him are getting hurt and the teams are doing just fine.

Fair enough point about 1 position. And maybe 'stolen' isn't the right word. But, Dallas lost Romo, Dez, Dunbar, Gregory, Lee, McClain and Scandrick for various games in some form or fashion. For whatever reason, the injury bug turned this once-promising season into a huge disappointment. I'm tired of people only looking at the Romo injury and not considering the whole.

The good news, is that you're consistently dooshy in this thread as well as your own Eagles thread. At least we have an excuse for our terrible season. We have hope for next year. You're on the way down, hater. Enjoy the bottom.

I have one last question, than i will leave this thread and stop dumping on. All we heard all off-season was how great this OL was, possibly the best ever. So where were they this year? Yeah, you guys had some injuries, but i would also suggest that sometimes you guys overvalue your guys too. but in honesty who doesn't?

Offensive line is good not great. When Romo was out teams stacked the box you only have 5 offensive lineman vs 8 in the box you do the math. When Romo was in the game offensive lineman performed pretty well

As for overvalue talk still seeing tons of Eagles fan saying they just need Redskins to win this week lol. Keep hoping philly, I mean your biggest sports hero is Rocky so fiction should come pretty easy

well how does Romo get season ending injuries every time he plays?

lol. You seem hurt. Romo is glass.
He may be hurt due to the fact they all talked up how much better they were than the division and used the injury excuse and that their golden boy was going to come back and save them. Then he came back and threw 2 quick TD's.....to the wrong team and completely choked on Thanksgiving before getting hurt for the 58th time. Good thing he told Brady "see you in February".

I'll settle for not rushing romo or Dez back and causing any further issues

I'd love to think Romo and Dez get back, never lose a beat, and we win the super bowl. I just don't think it will go like that.
:sigh:

jerry probably still thinks we can win the super bowl, we are only 2 games out of first!

Ugh what a year. Literally was wishing for a SB. I even planned a trip for Jan 2nd game in Dallas VS the Skins. I have tickets to the Monday night game here VS the Skins.

:hot:

Okay, several questions Cowboy's fans:

Romo injured the same collarbone twice this year. Is that the same collarbone he broke several years ago?

If it is, do you guys think Romo might retire, not wanting to do permanent damage to his left shoulder/arm?

The cap consequences are still pretty bad if Romo does retire next year. $31 million cap hit as opposed to the $20 million cap hit if he plays.

If Romo plays next year, do you think the Cowboys try to sign a top level back-up and draft their future franchise QB next year?

Yes, my Eagles suck, and look like they could suck for quite awhile, so yes, I am distracting myself by focusing on a rival with issues as well. Not that the Cowboys issues are anywhere near the Eagles issues right now.

I am not sure if it was the same one

either way i have no doubt he plays. they should be planning for his replacement, but based on my limited knoweldge this is not a great QB class, so I do not know what they should do. They'll probably sign that asswipe Manziel. Our short term hope is Romo staying healthy.

As I watched Romo hurt his collarbone again, it occurred to me that it's not a coincidence that he keeps suffering the same injury. Romo naturally tends to fall the same way whenever he's wrapped up and getting taken down. Maybe it stemmed from trying to not land on his throwing shoulder in his early days or what, but that landing against Carolina was exactly like the one against Philadelphia. I'm not really sure there's a way to consciously change that.

It was the left collarbone in 2010 as well
I have no doubt the Cowboys want Tony to play. But I have to think there is some risk of permanent damage if you break something that has been broken three times before. And this won't be just Tony's decision. If you watched the game you saw his wife with her head in her hands after he got hurt. She's going to have some input into this.

I opined several years ago that Jerry was taking a risk with going all in with a big contract on an aging QB. Cowboy fans just have to hope Stephen keeps hiding Manziels number from Jerry so that Jerry doesn't try to contact him in the offseason.

Blow it up....that is all.

100% spot on with this comment... the Cowboys have been media-darling "Super Bowl or bust" favorites for the last 5 years (or so), only to fail miserably riding a wave of excuses.

And I agree, next year should be no different.

Yes, the media has had them as Super Bowl contenders each of the last five years. before last year they said they would have the worst defense in the NFL is ever seen and they went 12 and four this past summer most pundits have the Eagles and Giants ahead of the Cowboys and rightfully predicted a lot of injuries and setbacks for the Cowboys this year. You sir, are an imbecile.

You can really tell who the losers in life really are when they show up to a team specific thread late in the year when you've never even seen their name once.
