i don't understand the idea of thinking that he would do something solely to be different or show he is the smartest guy. These guys want to win. They have very healthy egos. They do things because they think that they will result in the most success, not because they want to be the smartest guy in the room.

Cannot wait for a couple years down the road and most of these Oregon players chip coached will be out of the league or won't be part of the draft so he stops getting tempted. I feel it's really skewing his decisions

I guess There's plenty of players who dont get it right away and end up fine later on. Im willing to give him a passt for last season and this season will be much more telling IMO. He has to take it serious and come into camp in better shape, if he does that I believe he'll see the field a lot more this season.

I'm thinking Byron Jones. I'm sure they'd love to get Mariotta, but I don't think they'll be able to pull off a trade because I think Tennessee really wants a QB of the future.

What I think is going through Chip's head (which of course is impossible to try to figure out) is that he wants Mariota badly, but has a backup plan this time. Not having a backup plan seemed to screw us last year when the 3 guys we were targetting went off the board.

I hope Tenn is on the clock for a long time and suddenly are logo pops up... maybe even a desperation move from Tenn or last minute decision when no one else is calling.

I think he can be had in the 2nd and Id be ok with that, Id really like a guy like Devin Smith too. If we're going WR at 20, unless I missed something in the bios, I'd says its Parker, Perriman or Strong--I think all of which will fit nicely in the offense.

I think BPA is often media speak. I think its very rare that teams actually take the best player available. They almost always go for need.

Like the Bucs with Winston now, the 49ers were dropping hints that Alex Smith was the pick but many in the media thought Rodgers should go #1.
