*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (2 Viewers)

2015 Philadelphia Eagles = 2015 Washington Nationals

"Experts" pick to win

Second place in their division

No playoffs
Matt Williams aint no Chip Kelly.
True,he's won a postseason game
:lmao: Matt Williams losing his only post-season series is equivalent to Chip Kelly losing his only post-season game. You were comparing The 2015 Eagles to the 2015 Washington Nationals. Anyone familiar with baseball will tell you how poorly of a job Matt Williams has done.
Didn't say it was equivalent. Said Williams has won more in the postseason than Chipper.
Yeah and I disagree with you. When you play a 5 game series in baseball, your odds of winning one game is significantly greater than the odds of winning a sudden death NFL playoff game. The point you're trying to make is kind of silly IMO.
Why bother entertaining mental midgets like this? He's a troll. And obviously, not a very bright one. Probably looking at a 14 year-old.

Sound about right, or is that too low? Man their defense is godawful.
Pretty excited to see them play Dallas' secondary in a few weeks. They should drop 50.

As for us, how do we even (try to) guard Gronk? Who will be on him?
Honestly nobody can guard Gronk. It doesn't matter how good or bad your defense is. He's a special, elite talent.
Thank you for the cliche response. Hence why I put "try to" and asked who will be on him. Going to be very tough, just wondering who Eagles fans think will be covering him primarily.

Will the Eagles defense be fantasy worthwhile this season? Sorry if this is not in the right spot, but I wanted to get Eagles fans perspectives. I know they had a lot of TDs and sacks last year, now Chip has brought in guys like Maxwell and Kiko. Would you feel comfortable with the d as an every week start? Or more of a matchup play based on the opposing offense/QB?

I'm a Texans fan rooting for Chip to prove all the doubters wrong. The racist accusations really rubbed me the wrong way. The man doesn't hate black players; seems to me he hates egomaniacs who won't fully buy-in to his system. If coaches were like stock, I would be investing heavily in Bill O'Brien and Chip Kelly!! :)

Good luck guys, and pummel those Cowpies!! PLEASE!!
We will do our best.

My thoughts are pretty identical to everyone else's. The way we play should create those opportunities, but I'm definitely expecting less special teams TDs this season. We should get more points for points against then last year, but not as many TD's. Slight drop off in fantasy scoring from last year, but you should be able to roll with them weekly if you're okay with some big ups and downs.

I know you take this thread seriously so sorry for the "cliche" response. I've watched Gronk a lot and he is in my opinion one of the most unstoppable players that I've ever seen. Thus, I don't really think it matters who the Eagles put on him. He'll get his share. It doesn't mean the Eagles can't win.

No idea, keep Kendricks on him with constant safety help over top?? No matter what you do, he can't be stopped. But I imagine we can do a little better than the Steelers tonight. They didn't even bother on half his catches.

It does matter who the eagles put on him. Clearly he is one of the most unstoppable/unguardable players any of us have ever seen. Doesn't mean we should just not talk at all about who is going to be on him. I'm still interested to know who people think our coaching staff are going to TRY to put on him. I'm sure the coaches don't have the "ahhh it doesn't matter, let's not even try to stop him" attitude you're suggesting.

We get you (and I agree) think he's near unstoppable. That wasn't what I asked. Anyways, maybe an Eagles fan might have an actual opinion on what our coaching staff may attempt.

Ya that was rough. Don't think Kendricks will even be able to slow him down. Maxwell will probably match up with Edelman, so we will definitely need our safeties to play a monstar game to even keep him slightly at bay.

Your 55 52 prediction might be accurate Billy

Did I see that stat correctly?

Brandon Boykin only played 9 special teams plays and 0 defensive plays.
I was trying to watch for him and didn't really notice him, but there was a 22 on defense. Maybe he has a different number now.

edit: he's number 25.

Ouch, don't we get a higher pick based on % of plays?Man Chip really looks bad with all these former players excelling on their new teams. :clyde:
Fletcher looked good to me. He gave up one med catch, obviously got killed for it by Al Michaels. Other than that he was good. CBs play on an island here in an era where you can't breath on WRs.

Butler got no flack for getting scorched all night. They just kept replaying the play that ended the sb

And their defense is awful. Guess Tomlin doesn't understand players of that culture.

He's the fourth listed CB on that wretched secondary. Delusions of grandeur.
Can only assume this means Mike Tomlin is uncomfortable with men of Boykin's culture.
Guess you didn't read a few posts up

Am I being a stupid homer going with Eagles D this week instead of dropping them for NYJ/KC/SF/DEN?

I think we are better but ATL pass game is legit.

They can always rack up points thanks to all of the controlled chaos. The defense and special teams are very innovative. I said this last year, before It was cool, and don't see why it would stop. If you don't like hopping defenses then ride them because match-ups don't really matter. They force the action and get turnovers and TDs to offset points and yards. Totally untraditional. I wouldn't bother this week though. Too many juicy match-ups in week 1(the most imbalanced week for projections typically). Mia vs Cousins, Jets vs McCown, Tenn vs Josh Freeman(Winston.. epic bust. I'll take this sleeper), KC(I'm afraid is OAK actually announces themselves as a sleeper here but it beats Ryan/Julio home)... Go get a piece of that, but hang on to the birds for Fitz and Cousins for sure.

You make some good points......short bench so I would have to drop them. Ride it out or risk someone snagging them you think? Really hope we are improved on D this year.

And yet, we fell behind 17-0 last year to Jacksonville week one. We'll see what happens..

Definitely. So Teams alone gives them a shot at a TD every week. The front 7 may be top 5.

Try here for all things defense.

i took them about 2 rounds before i should have because i definitely think so. the special teams is really something "special", and a healthy Kiko gives them another +6 turnovers, probably more.

I would ride it out if that's the case. Wait until around week 5 when the schedule turns again with Brees- Eli- Cam- Bye- Romo to decide if your up for the swings or prefer safer plays. GL

Gronk is schemed open with a vet QB that can expose D deficiencies. Same reason undersized and slow Edelman is so productive. A sharp DC is required to eliminate the threats.

Who is covering Julio?

I think you guys win...but should be one of toughest games of the week imo.

Random.. Jordan Matthews looks like one of the best WRs in the league already. He's so polished and savvy. I don't mean that in some "oh it's the system pumping his numbers" kind of way. He nice.

:lmao: Go check who was rating him ahead of the likes of Sammy Watkins predraft.

I never even heard of this guy before I pissed on his palm palms. What call have you ever made regarding the Birds?

Let it go. Shahbucks always calls it like he sees it and has been right more often than not. Let's hope he's wrong about Bradford but not berate him every time he pops into this thread.

Shah is a high quality poster who's uncovered several gems on this board long before the mainstream.

Pls ease off, Deamon. He's earned the right to be wrong about a bold claim or two without taking abuse. Let's not chase him away because it would be a real loss to this forum.

I could be wrong but I highly doubt Deamon's postings are going to cause Shah to go anywhere. At least I hope not.

The forum was much better for the time he took off the last little while (which he said he would stop posting in here). Do you really think this forum is better when an eagles fan comes on here saying "chip will be back in college next year, im off his bandwagon, he's assembled a piece of #### team that is going nowhere"

He seems more concerned about "being right" about his predictions then adding anything of value to the conversation, or cheering on his own team. I'm confident he would rather his prediction come right and Chip fail, then Chip succeed. He should be the last one to be high fiving people if and when Chip's decisions look good.

If he wants everyone to remember his 'good predictions", he should expect people to remember the bad things he says too, like throwing his coach under the bus and saying how badly we will suck. I expect a cowboys fan to come in here and say those things, but not an eagles fan. No reason for that.

A few months ago he actually left. The only thing that may shut him up from his Chip bashing is a successful season and trip to the playoffs. Afterall... he only likes to comment and post when he's "right" about something. If he can try to rub in that he 'called mathews being good' and poke at me for not calling anything about the eagles (lol), then he should be able to take the heat for being wrong when Chip takes us to the playoffs and is still in the NFL next year. But he usually runs and hides from those comments.

But your sniping back and forth isn't making this a better place either. He is obviously a huge Foles fan. Maybe he knows him, maybe he is him, who knows, and Foles being traded really got to him and her overreacted. That's how it looks to me, anyway. Now he's over it Let's all move on and enjoy the season. I hear there's a game on tomorrow night.

So excited about tommorow. My keys to victory are bradfords efficient play and sproles. Sproles is going to make a couple plays either rtn a punt or a key 3rd down rec to help us win. But the most important thing to help us win tommorow will be the improved defense. I think atl and their one dimensional offense have problems all night. Their crap line is gonna get ryan smacked around.
