*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (2 Viewers)

Too many passes... Again. What's the point of Murray, Mathews?
Ironic that trying to run it cost them the game. Short passes are essentially like running. Lots of bad in that game. Terrible first half. Bad calls esp to end the first half. Chip crapping the bed on that call. Single coverage on Julio. And the Falcons had all summer to prepare. Next week can make us forget easily.

The pass to run ratio is misleading. Many of those passes were very short dumps to Sproles Matthews and Murray. They are going to use short passes to move the chains. I thought the offense was awesome in the second half.

Where's the big balls?? Quick snap Bradford falls forward and it's a first down. No reason to wait then rush your kicked out there. Bad all around Chip.

I think the Eagles will be fine as a team, but a complete headache fantasy wise. The only stable target was Matthews and while all 3 backs put up points, I think it will be game script dependent.

So, pass defense was horrible last year. We get all new db's - pass defense looks horrible, with the exact same issues. It's f'n coaching. Not going to change as long as Bill Davis is DC.

Just got an alert that said Bradford went in for X-rays after the game, no word on what.
....and it begins.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford was taken to the X-ray room with a team doctor following a 26-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Bradford wasn't limping as he walked to the room, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.Com, and the nature of any injury he may have is unknown at this time.

The X-rays were precautionary, according to Bradford himself who declined to say what part of his body was injured.

they looked a bit rough, but julio is gonna get his

i'm still fairly optimistic this secondary starts to gel as the season goes on

that said, maxwell looks to be as overpaid as i feared. he's still an upgrade though so there's worse ways to spend

I picked sproles as a cheap flex in draftkings was money. He might be the best eagles rb week to week. If he scores tds he's a monster.

Dude Julio is the best.

I think Bill Davis is average at best.

Maxwell is both overpaid and an upgrade. Not ready to bury him until I see how he does against an average #1. Julio is sick.

But yes we need to run the ball. And not out of fing shotgun
they paid out the ### to bring in the #1 and #2 runners out of shotgun in the league last year. they know their identity in the run game and they're going to rightfully stick to it.

more concerning is that chip obviously knew he couldn't trust the line and just started chucking it in the second half. underneath passing became the run game.

it was a good move, and i credit the atlanta front for being more improved than i thought they'd be, but it was a rough night for the interior line and they're gonna have to play better than that

julio gonna get his

he wasn't on julio all night. he looks like a decent corner, but never gonna play up to his contract

Pretty sure they knew they weren't signing Revis. He will be fine vs most number one wr

Eskin: Sam Bradford had x-ray after game that I understand to be his ankle but x-rays were negative. #Eagles @FOX29philly

Anyone else concerned that Dan Quinn, former Seattle defensive Cordinator, straight up attacked Byron Maxwell All night last night?

How can you possibly have that three headed monster and run the ball 16 times entire game?

When Parkey started trotting out there I turned to my wife and said, I guarantee he misses this. The way that offense was clicking at that point I don't know why you don't just hurry up snap and get the first down.

ETA. It seemed to me like Chip had to convince himself not to go for it. His instinct was to ram it down their throat on fourth and one but again he fell back to conservative play, which is infuriating.

Agholor looked lost, Matthews looked studly.

Chip made the right call there. Go for the lead on the road. The defense held the Falcons in check for most of the second half. Parkey needs to make that 44 yard field goal. Hindsight is 20/20.

Might have been the right call "by the book" (though even that's questionable), but that's not why Chip was hired.

It's the kind of thing I would have expected out of 30 other NFL coaches, but Chip isn't 30 other NFL coaches. No doubt in my mind Belichick goes for it in that spot. I couldn't believe Kelly went into his shell there.

I was saying it was a mistake as soon as the FG came out - even if they made it, thought it was a mistake to settle for a one point win and 2 minutes to go - would much rather have gone for it - a 1st down, milk the clock to nothing and kick a FG.

I don't think it was attacking Maxwell as much as focusing on Jones. This defensive scheme simply cannot adjust and take away a teams #1 option. Look at last year's Dallas game, Dez had a monster game. Sometimes, your stud WR's are going to just be better then the opposite CB. You need to be able to roll the safety over top, jam them at the line with a LB, do SOMETHING to help out - and that never happens. That's all on the DC.

Did the Eagles take even one shot downfield? That's always been a knock on Bradford, 70% of his throws are under 10 yards.

They can still be very effective dinking and dunking, but would love to see him develop more of a vertical threat.

Disappointing loss but this team has some great talent. Not the first guy you talk about on Philly, but Kelce is an incredible athlete - best center in the game.

I do not think the field goal was a bad call, but you have to either call timeout or make the decision quicker. Rushing the attempt was the real mistake

Agree on Kelce. I have never seen a center run so much, and that guy is pretty fast. Great blocking on those sweeps!

I forget who the running back was but on that one sweep to the right he pulled out and took out two guys 10-15 yards downfield - and not together, they were several yards apart. So rare to see an o-lineman move that well.

And I know that holding call hurt, but I was cracking up he smurf-tossed that DB without even grabbing jersey. Put wrists on the pads and just tossed him aside. Strong like bull.
