6 wins yes that's a failure. An 8 win division win would be a victory... and I think we can/will still get there.

What if they win the division at 8-8 and lose in the first round of the playoffs? Is that victory? No way anyone anticipated this was an 8-8 team 2 weeks ago.
a 12 win season and first round playoff exit is the same as an 8 win season with a first round playoff exit. If you told me we'd win the division and host a playoff game 2 weeks ago, I'd totally be satisfied.

all depends how they look doing it. we have all seen teams with good records that aren't good. if they can put a few games together looking like they did the 2nd half of the ATL game i'll at least accept the sky isn't falling
Well we do have a string of winnable games coming up. We lost two games to two playoff-type teams. The next 4 we get: Jets, Skins, Saints, Giants. Those won't be cakewalks, but I could see us being favourites in all of them and we have a good shot to go 3-1 in there. If we do that, we're likely tied for 1st in the div again.

Most of the problems are the O-line. Unfortunately if you're getting repeatedly physically beaten, there isn't a coaching fix for that. Even more scary is that the Atlanta and Dallas D-lines are average on their best day. The Jets will feast on these guys. I predict you will see a new starting guard this week. They were so bad, I'm not sure who will be replaced first.
That was a fantastic defensive effort and it was completely wasted. They have only given up 3 TDs in two games and they have been on the field for almost three games worth of plays, albeit without Dez, and somewhat without Romo.
They can still figure this out, but no matter what they're still not close to Green Bay, Seattle, or New England. The odds of one of those teams winning it is quite high. 29 other teams are playing catch up. Not too many other teams are close. Maybe Arizona if Palmer stays healthy.

lot of dropped passes too, but good call here. Jets game should be worrisome, but other teams have had horrible lines and got around it

The Billy Davis schemes are troubling. Every corner who comes here gets destroyed because they are left without help for huge amounts of the game. Malcolm Jenkins make a lot of TFLs because he plays too close to the line of scrimmage. For every one of those TFLs, they surrender two long pass plays. Cary Williams starts for a conference champion, Nate Allen started in Oakland before his injury. Patrick Chung started the Super Bowl last year and now Bradley Fletcher is playing a solid nickel for NE.
I'm starting to think that Revis/Peterson/whoever could not succeed in this scheme.

The reason I said Chip would be back in college is because I know Eagles fans. Chip, who I believe is a genius(I just don't get what he sees in QBs), will now be mocked by the media. We're going to echo everything they say and run the guy out of town

Kelly most definitely doesn't. He wouldn't do all the things he's done if he cared about what the fans think. He won't be run out of town by the fans, I don't think he's going to be rattled much by this. He's hopefully gonna get pissed and figure this #### out. Let's hope its not too little too late to fix the season like our come back attempts have been in the first 2 weeks. I'm actually excited to see what adjustments he comes up with for next week.

That was total garbage. Unreal how bad that offense was. And we have some tough defenses on the schedule. I usually try to make excuses for as long as I can to not get too down too early in the season, but I'm ready to throw in the towel already.

I'm not a hater, as I've bought into Bradford, Matthews and Agholor in multiple leagues, but what have you seen so far that makes you think their offense is going to turn it around. Honestly as an outsider it looks like a complete dumpster fire right now.
I'm confident the offense will turn it around because the talent/speed we have is real. We've seen what Chip can do, we've seen it work, and we are struggling to get into that rhythm we had in the 2nd half of the Atlanta game.
Would you rather be 0-2 with some major things to fix, or 2-0 with your starting QB, Stud WR both out for the next 8+ games? I'd still rather our situation then any other in the NFC East.

Don't know about cutting him, but could it hurt to bench him and start Agholor? I think right now we need the deep threat on the outside. Seems fixing the guard play and stretching the field are the 2 most important things. Easier said than done, I know.

Just 2 games but the offense is putrid. OLine can't run or pass block. Terrible. They really need to get their #### together this week if they want any hope of contending. The Romo injury has busted the division wide open but if they can't block then they're in deep trouble.

The guards are going to get a lot of crap and they should, however, we don't have a TE on this team that can block. Celek looks done and Ertz is giving me an LJ Smith vibe with how he doesn't seem to take the next step in any part of his game. He gets absolutely destroyed in the run game.
Our WR's and TE's cant catch a cold--Please just cut MIles Austin already too.
Over the past 3 years our offense has gotten more and more vanilla. We used to show a lot of different looks, plays etc and we just don't any more. Ever since the Suggs hit the zone-read look is nowhere to be found. When the QB looks to hand the ball to the RB its a run every time.
Two very big issues with Chip IMO:
1. We CAN'T get tough yards and seem to be very finesse on offense. When you watch GB, NE even Denver in years past they run out of the shotgun exclusively but when its time to get a yard they have the personnel to get it done. Chip will never get a FB, our OL will always be light and our TE's cant block. We simply aren't built at all to get tough yards. Until we can we wont make a deep playoff run. Teams like that just don't. "Big people beat up little people"-- We need more size up front
2. Even I noticed how gassed both defensive units were so Im sure it was mentioned on TV countless times. Chip is all about plays ran instead of TOP and that is completely fine. The major issue here is that when that number starts to get as bad as it did yesterday you HAVE to make an adjustment. We were still very much in the game at various points in the second half, he needed to slow things down. Much like NE, they will go temp and huddle which keeps defenses off balance and also gives the D some rest. I understand this isn't how he does things but he should have it as an option.

When it was first and goal from three, and we were only down 13-3, this is when you need to depend on the 60 million bucks you just spent on running backs. They lined up in the shotgun!! On first and second down. They don't even pretend they have a running game. Things get tight down around the goal line. There's not much real estate to find an open receiver. When you tell the other team we are definitely passing, you just made it even tighter.

Good post.
Disagree with last take. Cowboys can still win 10 or 11 games. Strong O-line, good and getting better defense, two good coordinators. Eagles won 5 straight games in 2002 with Detmer/Feeley after McNabb was hurt due to a similar set of factors. As long as Weeden keeps mistakes down, I think Dallas will play .500 until Dez and Romo get back.

Small sample size and all, I know, but through 2 games:Foles - 59.3% CP, 2 TD, 0 INT, 7.45 ANY/A.
Bradford - 66.3% CP, 2 TD, 4 INT, 4.61 ANY/A.
The former, of course, is recording these stats under noted offensive genius Jeff Fisher.
And Foles' career average ANY/A is 6.91 to Bradford's 5.14.
We have plenty of evidence that Foles is a serviceable NFL QB with the potential to be an above-average one. Bradford may well be better - either in Chip's system or even overall - but what little evidence he's provided thus far isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of the hypothesis.
