*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (2 Viewers)

Sry but I don't see us beating the cards. Hope I'm wrong but they are better in just about every phase and deep. We need to play the best game of the season to keep it close imo
Odds are definitely against us. Cards 20 days rest, they need the win because Seattle is charging, WR corps and QB are the best we've seen all year, defense is nasty, Arian's hates Chip so no mercy. The intangibles are many.

We'll see exactly what kind of team the Eagles are now by how they play this game.

Why is there not a gif yet of Cox face-planting McCoy into the grass after that 10 yard loss??? They replayed it 4 straight time in the stadium

Now we get to go from hating McCoy to being his biggest fan against Washington...

I still dont get the Mccoy hate. Because he hates your coach?? He didnt want to be traded. Did you see him kiss the Eagle midfield before the game?

Unless it is because he is a jackarse...which was the case when he played for Philly also. Maybe it is easier to acknowledge that and take the blinders off when he is not on your team.

Pretty much. Last year he was a jerk, but he was our jerk. Now he's their jerk, so he's just a big jerk.

McCoy acts like he was the first player ever traded away from a team. He's been a whiny baby since the trade was made and acted like a 15 year old chick all this week. I seriously have never seen an adult athlete act the way he acted all last week. It was embarrassing. If I wasn't an Eagles fan, I'd have still hoped Buffalo lost just because of him. One positive that came from it was that he made it abundantly clear why Chip wanted him out of that locker room.

really? He's acted completely unprofessional since leaving, basically called Chip racist and then wouldn't address his comments anymore. Talked #### all week, underperformed and then ran off. BTW, after the game he brought all the reporters around his locker, waited till everyone was there and said "I got nothing to say". **** head

And Chip got the last laugh. Bye bye Shady. :D

Let's put two things to rest now lads: no way will Chip take the foot off the gas this Sunday. They absolutely need to show well against a team they could possibly see down the road. Buffalo is mediocre at best and the breaks against NE were of the order of me hitting the powerball. Don't get me wrong, I'm still ecstatic about that win. Arizona on the other hand is coming here and pretty healthy too. I don't need the birds to necessarily win, just keep up the momentum. Plus, you know Chip and Hipster Arians have some beef.

Two: let's all finally put to rest the QB issue. Bradford has proved to be the right move. We can still ##### and moan about the others but there is no doubt, he is playing well and far superior to Sanchez and Foles. I agree with others, we'd have beat Miami and who knows what would have happened the next two weeks.

It's a crazy season but at least we are on an upswing!
On two, he's definitely better (Foles regression assures that). Just wish we didn't have to give up a 2nd also.
Proud of you man.

Only 3.5?? That's really surprising. Thought it would be a bigger spread but I guess the home field gives us a few points.

I think the "Chip Kelly is a racist" thing is a D-Bag move that you can't just ignore. It's pretty much the equivalent of fragging someone.

Especially since it's such a dumb and inaccurate statement. He replaced DeSean Jackson by drafting the black Jordan Matthews. Replaced McCoy by signing the black Demarco Murray and Ryan Mathews. And replaced Maclin by drafting the black Nelson Agholor. Maybe Chip doesn't like a certain personality type. And McCoy went out of his way to show that type this past week.

Not to mention he clipped Foles, Herremens, Mathis. If you can't play well anymore and/or don't have the attitude/right stuff, you can be purple with polka dots. You're still gone

Insecure players need to blame it on something else. Or conceited ones who just can't wrap their heads around the fact that they just weren't wanted.

Lots of discussion in here about whether Sam Bradford would be resigned after this year, and how much he will cost recently. Chip pretty clearly committing to Sam going forward here:

"After Sam Bradford continued to show improvement while winning another game at quarterback for the Eagles yesterday, Chip Kelly touched on how Bradford fits in Philadelphia long term.

At his afternoon press conference today, the head coach was asked whether he wants Bradford to be his quarterback beyond the 2015 season.

"We've always wanted Sam here," Kelly said. "We wouldn't have traded for him if we thought he was going to be here for a year."

Over his last four starts, Bradford has completed 80 of 123 passes (65.0%) for 898 yards, five touchdowns, one interception and a 96.9 rating. The Eagles are 5-1 in the last six games Bradford has started and finished and 6-2 in the last eight.

Some quotes from Chip's presser today.

- We were fortunate to get Jaylen Watkins and Ed Reynolds back. It was difficult to cut both players at the end of Training Camp

- Eric Rowe is growing. He's tall and long and he has everything that we look for in a cornerback.

- I continue to see improvement from Sam Bradford on a weekly basis.

- We communicated to our guys about how it's important to play with emotion and not let emotion play with you.

- For us to be successful, we can't be stopping ourselves ... We emphasize penalties all the time.

- We've always wanted Sam here. We wouldn't have traded for him to have him for one year.

Chip mentioned the discipline and penalties. As bad as we were on 3rd and long, I don't recall many, if any, big penalties that kept drives alive. Those deep PI penalties kill, and I'm not sure we had any PI's by our CB's this week. Only 5 penalties for 55 yards, can't remember or find how many were on the defense but I'm sure half of those were offensive holdings. Very disciplined game by our defense.

Yeah, I don't get this idea that people are suddenly against him because he plays elsewhere. What did he do last year that was even close to the way he's acted since he's left??

He doesn't tip well.

Sucks the Giants won. I still think they aren't going to be a factor though. Think Carolina and Minny both beat them which likely eliminates them since either us or wash will win 2 of the next 3.

Not really a guarantee on the latter either. Wash could certainly lose to Buffalo and already lost to Dallas. While.I'm optimistic the Eagles have turned it around, this is a week to week prove it kind of team right now. And the Vikings are fading fast. They'll probably still make the playoffs but they will get blown out by Green Bay in the first round.

In case anyone is curious about just how much of a shortage of quarterbacks there are, the Ravens just signed Ryan Mallet to a 2.5 million dollar contract for 2016. Already knowing he's below average in talent, immature, selfish, and a bad teammate.

Yep. The Eagles will have to pay Fletcher in the $14-16mil per year range. If we can keep Bradford in that area, that'd be a win. Demarco and Maxwell eat a lot of the cap for next year along with Fletcher's impending pay day. If they can keep Bradford moderately priced then that's bearable since there really is no other options out there.

Pretty crazy considering maxwell and Demarco both kinda suck

Free Agency isn't about paying the most for the best player. It's paying the most for the best player available.

If you can't pay the one you want, pay the one you're with.

I don't think Maxwell 'sucks' . He's not Revis/Sherman caliber, but no where near Bradley Fletcher territory.

Not as good as his money suggests, but like Insein says, its about paying the most for the best that's out there. Don't think there's many people out there who last offseason, didn't think Maxwell was the top CB FA, and Murray the top RB FA. Hindsight is easy.

EDT: Besides Revis of course, but he was never going anywhere but NE/NY

Herremans cut by the Colts. Hadn't played a snap since Week 2. Sometimes we get it right.
I think, it's not that was got rid of good players - we didn't, they were indeed washed up. We just haven't been drafting OL to replace them, so what we're left with isn't great. I think they've gotten a little better, but we have to draft a few OL next draft.

Indeed we do. In fact, if we decide to keep Bradford, I would advocate taking OL in the 1st and with one of the 3rd round picks.

I don't think Chip used his top 2 picks on Oline, even if I want him to. Lots will depend on where we pick. If a great WR falls to us, I wouldn't even be that against taking one. But Oline is definitely the biggest need right now so we need 2 in our top 5 picks.

Personally, it's not so much that I am writing it off, but that I really have no idea what to think or expect from this team at this point. It wouldn't shock me if they won 42-10 or if they lost 42-10. So I am just trying to enjoy it as it goes and see what happens in the final 3 weeks.
I would be shocked if they won 42 10

Not that we don't already know he owns us, but to show how bad it is using his career stats versus us, if Fitzgerald played a full season against the Eagles it projects to:

107 catches

1833 yards

25 touchdowns
