Apparently the real polls are starting to filter in - Rasmussen (yeah, yeah) and Suffolk plus one out of NH - and the Trump is down (in Ras by as much as -9) but still holding the lead due to the scattered field.

Right now it's starting to shake out that the race will consist of frontrunners: Trump, Bush, Kasich, Fiorina, Rubio, maybe Carson, maybe Paul.

I don't think I'd say they're scared of Trump. They're smart enough and have enough pollsters and analysts to know that he has zero chance of winning the nomination. I'd say they're frustrated by him, for a number of reasons.

If this is true, they have no one to blame but themselves then. Ignore him, don't give him run time and he goes away. Treat him like they do everyone else they don't want there. Rick Perry's out of money. Can't afford to pay his campaign staff.

This doesn't necessarily mean it's the end. Newt Gingrich had this same thing happen to him in the summer of 2011, and managed to stay in the race nearly another year, due to some good debate appearances. But it's going to be tougher for Perry because so many people are in the race and because his numbers are so poor. Look for him to be one of the first to bow out.

This might sound ridiculously shallow, but the guy has some real strange facial gestures when he talks.Actually, a new Franklin Pierce University poll came out today and Kasich has jumped to 3rd in New Hampshire.

Post debate, Rubio has surged in Iowa and Kasich has surged in New Hampshire.

I don't know if its been brought up yet, but the primary schedule actually kind of plays out for Trump. If he takes Iowa and NH(where he's leading in both), he'll then have an open primary in SC, a closed one in NV and then Super Tuesday where half are open. I'd imagine at the least he'd draw more support from Democrats in the opens...even if just to prop him up to keep him going. If the R's don't squash him quick (if they even want to) he's going to spiral out of control.

But at the end of the day, it is sort of how the Democrats take black voters for granted. The GOP basically spits in the faces of Republican voters and assumes that they will follow in lockstep like black voters loyally vote Democrat each year.

It ain't going to happen.

Ultimately, what this all comes down to is the following:

A lot of people are looking for a way to say "Go #### Yourself" to the establishment and to the machinations of D.C.

If you are a Republican you are constantly told, we just need to win the house, then its we just need to win the senate, too. And then it is...if we can get the presidency and both chambers, were golden.

But, it never changes. In fact, the people who do the heavy lifting in the grassroots to actually give the power back to the leaders of the GOP must then stand around like cuckholds and let the party leaders piss on them and tell them that they are right wing nuts, unreasonable, etc.

If ever there was a time to tell a bunch of political whores to go eff themselves...this is it.

I don't know many Republicans who are really worried that a vote for Trump might cost them the opportunity to elect some other windbag GOPer who is going to grow government, allow the borders to remain open, etc.

That's called being a politician, they're all like that except for Trump who is mostly shtick.

I work with these #######s every day, you can have all of them. However...I have a friend who works for Rubio and he said he's legit. My friend really has nothing to gain if Rubio becomes president either, there isn't a job in it for him. He's also a moderate politically and hates several of these guys including Ted Cruz.

Honestly if anyone likes Ted Cruz, they have some serious issues. So maybe that doesn't count.

Well, SIDA, you know I disagree with you a lot, but I think here you represent the views of an awful lot of conservatives out there. I think you've stated perfectly why so many conservatives joined the Tea Party and why so many of you are supporting Donald Trump now. It's always struck me that you have a greater anger toward the Republican establishment than you do against the Democrats.

Obviously I'm on the opposite side from you on most of these issues. But there's no question that your anger is genuine, and, in terms of being angry at the political process (if not the results) I think you're mostly justified. The Iowa GOP's caucus process is different from the Democrats. The Republicans now gather at the caucus location and cast secret ballots. The Democrats still require voters to go stand and be publicly counted in an area with other supporters of their candidate.
