Cruz has come back down in Iowa, he and Trump are virtually tied in the polls. Iowa will be a good test, Trump is not strong organizationally in Iowa, and in a caucus state that is a problem. I am predicting much worse than expectations from him in Iowa.

Trump will win NH going away.

The impression is that Trump is not organizationally strong - he's been good at playing possum with some of this stuff though I have noticed.

That's for a debate statement, when they are being sued for locking out third parties. However, qualifying for the ballot on a third party without being part of a primary is another.

Latest speculation I've heard today: the Republican race will not be decided going into a brokered convention. In order to stop Trump, the GOP will turn to Paul Ryan.

I don't understand how this would work. Why would all the Trump and Cruz delegates vote for Ryan?

Even if they did, Trump running third party guarantees a victory for Sanders or Clinton. It would be incredibly stupid and shortsig...oh, yeah, it's the GOP.

Not really paying attention, but here's by conclusion on these candidacies

Fiorina: was never in any way qualified for the job. She is fiery and good on the podium, so the voters gave her a long look, but her business record was found wanting and now she's undercard material.

Huckabee: his candidacy became too closely linked to the social conservative niche. In an electorate that is center right on economics and center left on social issues, it seems he was never viable.

Santorum: his career was over after his disastrous interview on gay marriage many years ago, sure he won a couple of states in 2012 that Romney didn't fully contest because the delegate count was low. In delegates, Santorum got housed.
