***Official 2016 Presidential Race Thread*** Debate #3 TONIGHT! (1 Viewer)

She won the debate by default because Trump lost it horribly.  But she dodges most questions, lies her ### off with her talking points, and is the same POS most of us knew she was before tonight.  She's going to win but anyone with a pulse knew that before tonight.  We could produce videos of her murdering babies and she's still going to win.

Obama did get the four more years chant when he visited CDN parliament a few months ago...

Running 30 minutes behind, but this is a slugfest so far.  If Trump had been as strong in the 1st debate this race would be closer IMO.

 
Trump had to land not a knock out but a death blow to turn this around. He didn't therefore he lost. In fact as noted that whole playing games with accepting the outcome is the takeaway that all his surrogates will be trying to pivot from. Even GOP strategists are condemning it.   That is the news for now. He didn't change the dynamic and I expect Hillary's numbers to continue to improve.

Trump was better than he had been in the first two debates. I won't say that he won, but unlike in the other debates, he made it close enough that reasonable arguments can be made in either direction -- at least in terms of style. In content, he is still playing only to his base rather than to independents, which is a losing strategy at this point for his electoral chances (though it may be a good strategy for his prospects as an alt-right media mogul).

And please remember I very strongly dislike Hillary to put it mildly. She is corrupt and a liar. Trump is a narcissistic lunatic and a liar. No one is winning this cycle except JP Morgan.

Smails, Otis, not exactly Trumpettes, both felt he won the last debate with similar reasoning. I agree and I think this one was closer. Knowing many many Trump voters, I can see how they might be disappointed he didn't pound her a little harder. Hillary is mostly in a prevent defense so it's okay if she's gives up a few points here and there. The game is over unless Putin's October Surprise is really good.

1. Clinton is still unlikeable. She's The Nature Boy Buddy Landell to Bills Nature Boy Ric Flair. There's only one President Clinton.

2. Trump can't get out of his own way.  Wallace nailed HRC twice....and Trump pooped in the water and made everyone get out of the pool.

3. Trump didn't get the knockout he needed. If he had shut up and let HRC fumble about for a few seconds......he might have had her on a bad soundbyte.  

4. " What a nasty woman" will be right up there with "I might not accept the results" as new Clinton attack ads.

Well I said over a year ago, I'm only in it for the entertainment value so I sure feel like a winner.

 
We are screwed. What will it take to actually have a good human being run for president? We need more options, both parties are out of touch.

In all fairness, I used to work with a guy who was sure that Bush was going to do the same thing.   Said so repeatedly.   A couple of years later he denied ever saying it.

Both party wings have their share of hysterical nutjobs.

Also as I've said before, the national debt is an overblown issue.  The U.S. has the collateral to meet every penny it owes, and that debt isn't being called.  Foreign governments, investors, and you and I hold U.S. debt (treasuries) because it's the safest investment in the world.  It's not like personal finances, the debt is much less of an issue if the annual deficit and spending is not piling on that amount.  You know, like the Iraq War for example.

I had no problem w/ the Iraq war as it was explained-along with pretty much everyone incl. Hillary.  It was #######g horrible.   5000 dead  & 4 times that wounded?  No middle east-I repeat no middle east.   Treasuries?  cripes man in a year you will be paying THEM to hold on to your money.   I think the debt is a problem.   Eventually all things come together, and a river runs through it.

Trump won't say he will accept the results. 

Basically admitted to using illegal steel in his buildings.

Railed about America not making anything anymore while he has done the exact thing in his businesses. 

Basically bragged about not paying taxes. 

Basically praised Putin. 

Says he is going to make the country great like his businesses. Is he planning on declaring bankruptcy like his awesome businesses did?

He is garbage. 

 
Geez, even the media "both sides do it" crowd isn't having any of this Trump performance.  PBS panel says she wins, David Brooks (!) says it was her best debate yet, Axelrod, who loathes Clinton and loves to cater to the "both sides" nonsense, says it was Trump's worst debate of the three (which it was).  Geez.   

 
Tonight I quit. I'm gonna march to the beat of my own drum - and buy a gun, just in case I'm starving.
