***Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread : Pens raise the cup for 4th time in franchise history*** (1 Viewer)

Caps spending most of their time on the perimeter and he Flyers content with keeping them out there. For all the big hits they threw, the Caps didnt want to go in and get a dirty one.

Pretty much the only other series I am following real close. Have an interest in who the Bolts play of course, but it's been really good.

Edit: that's not true, seen every Chicago game too I guess. No wonder I'm tired.

Caps first time they were shutout at home this season.

Caps first time losing two in a row this season. (That really true?!)

ETA: in regulation.

Fits!

Are the Caps in trouble?  Anything that makes the path to the final easier for the Bolts!

L.A. looked really bad in the first period. San Jose looks sharp in going high on Quick tonight.

First power play was just an exercise in ugliness. No shots, no puck control, a few giveaways.

Things are happening everywhere except in Florida.

(Unless you include players nearly dying while tumbling head-first into the dasher.)

11 SOG for the Flyers tonight?  WTF BB?
They scored at 8 minutes of the second then went into a 30 minute prevent. The Caps would skate around the perimeter and not really create anything too dangerous. Neuvirth was awesome no doubt. Made a few ten bell saves, but of the forty something shots not as many tough ones as you might think.

The couple times the Flyers actually gained Washington's zone nothing happened. Nothing at all. Blocked lame shot attempt or immediate turnover. It was that bad. Add to that an Absolutey embarrassing power play. There's really no way to explain it. I still don't believe the outcome was what it was.

Give credit to the Caps for shutting him down but Giroux might need 3 surgeries after the season, he barely looks like a hockey player as does Voracek. Kuznetsov and Backstrom haven't done anything special either. They seem to be cancelling each other out. Although with Couturier out Giroux is playing all the tough minutes. The difference has been the special teams. Teams are tied in goals at EV, Flyers got smoked in the first three games by special teams, giving up PP goals and not scoring any of their own. Won tonight on a wing, a prayer and Neuvirth.

Fluky little goal off of Kopitar gets the Kings back in it with about half the game left to be played. Doughty picks up the assist off a won draw, sent puck in on net, and rebound off of Koptiar's skate or shin.

As has been noted, Kings-Sharks 3-3. Versteeg follows up and doesn't quit on play where Kopitar is celebrating and bangs punk home off of a rebound off of the right post for the tying goal. Lewis takes penalty for slash, Kings kill off penalty with a Lecavalier chance down off-wing and go into period tied at three. Love to see this series go a bit deeper.

Was just going to post how good the Nieto-Donskoi-Ward-Couture line/guys looked tonight. All over the Kings.

4-3
