***Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread : Pens raise the cup for 4th time in franchise history*** (1 Viewer)

Kesler has now body slammed his second guy to the ice in front of his own net, almost bouncing two heads off the ice.

Hey, call it what you want, but he's involved everywhere. Such a high quality finish off of that beautiful one-time touch from Silfverberg.

Good time to trip Barrett Jackman in his own end and let the Preds kill off a minute of clock before the whistle.

Nice job Preds, don't you dare lose to the Sharts.
If those Sharts look anything like they did against the Kings, I don't even see much of a series.

GG, Ducks.

GG, Preds.

Some big-time Western Conf. teams gone; good news for the East, really.

Incredible to think that the four remaining teams in the West combined have one Stanley Cup all-time, and have a combined four Finals appearances since 1971 ... all by the Stars/North Stars.

I agree with all these picks, though differ in number of games for some. Hardest one for me is CHI-STL. I would pick the Blues in 7, except that when I think of that series actually going to 7 games, I can't pick against Chicago in Game 7. And I also struggle with a Boudreau team winning a Game 7, but maybe this is a fresh year for both him and the Caps.

Washington over Philadelphia, 4-2
Pittsburgh over NY Rangers, 4-1
Florida over NY Islanders, 4-1
Tampa Bay over Detroit, 4-2
Dallas over Minnesota, 4-1
Chicago over St Louis, 4-3
Anaheim over Nashville, 4-3
Los Angeles over San Jose, 4-2
Just call me Mr. Game 7.

Sorry, Caps.

Good luck in your new endeavors, Bruce.

Now 1-7 in game 7s. I see a pattern.
I don't think he gets fired. The team was ready and played a great game last night. Out shot them 37 to 20, and 28 to 10 last two periods. Did Nashville ever set up their offense 5 on 5 the entire game? I didn't see it.  Hit a cross bar, a post and a couple of other near misses and rinne robbed perry on a slapper.  Rinne was awesome, they got a great bounce of the puck on the first goal. That's hockey. It might have been the best game they played all year

First two games Nashville won , ducks never cycled the puck and didn't really set up 5 on 5. Nashville got to play their game.  Last night the ducks played their game, but rinne and all the blocked shots saved them.

they played extremely safe after the 2nd goal.  everything was off the glass and out, get pucks deep, passive forecheck.  they chose to eliminate odd man rushes and minimize chances over pushing for the 3rd goal.  it was very effective and the only sustained pressure the Ducks had all night was on the PP.  it's a dangerous way to play but they didn't make many mistakes and it worked.  Ducks had the puck all game because the Preds gave it back to them, but they had them one and done for the most part.

he only had 2 points all series but I really like Rakell's game.  he's going to keep getting better.

Rakell was a major reason the Ducks did so well this year. One of my favorite players.  It also didn't help that Rakell, Kesler, Perron, Bieska and two others were out the last 7-14 days and all came back game 1.  I love Theodore, but he's not ready for playoff hockey. Made very bad decisions in the first two games and game 6 and was benched last night.

Just don't like this matchup at all for the Rangers. Think the individual games could be close but I see a short series unless McDonagh returns quickly. Can easily see an 0-2 start.

4-0 in the East, 1-3 in the West. Seems about right.
