***Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread : Pens raise the cup for 4th time in franchise history*** (1 Viewer)

Before today, it was 15 years and 2 days since the St. Louis Blues last won a second round matchup on the road.

I hope I don't have to wait 15 years and 2 days for another. That'd be nice.

Ugly 3rd period, but I'll take that win, the Blues first in the 2nd round in like 92 years.

Also, thanks to Antoine Roussel for committing that really stupid penalty in OT.

Three games for Orpik. I would have thought two, but not gonna argue. You do garbage like that, you pay the penalty.

Reality is, I don't think Orpik is that huge a loss on the top pair. But it does cause trouble at the bottom when suddenly you've got Chorney or someone playing real minutes. Orlov responded really well the last time he got benched, so hopefully his Game 2 pine time gets him playing better again.

He only got 3 games for breaking Cole's neck, figured they would give him a warning.

Caps goals have been painfully hard to come by ever since they stopped facing a garbage goaltender following Game 3 of the first round. Anyone seen our 50-goal scorer?

Me thinks letang will be watching game 4 from press box
Nah, the late and completely unnecessary hit was caused by his leg being propelled off the ice and causing enough force that his left shoulder catapulted into Johansson.

I'm certainly no expert hockey strategist, but it just seems like the Caps are using the "try harder" strategy. They don't appear to be doing anything to counter Pittsburgh's pressure, especially on the PP.

Questionable hit by Letang, maybe a game maybe not (either way not a play he should be making).  Nowhere close to the Orpik hit.

Is there a banner for that? At this point, I'll take whatever I can get.
This series is going to go seven, if it doesn't I'll be very surprised.

Also does Hagelin get an extra point for scoring the defender there?  Should be 4-0 IMO.

If you watched that whole game and weren't allowed to see the goals, you would have bet the house the Caps won.  Hockey playoff games are strange that way, no other sport is like this.

Insane last few minutes.

My team, isn't even in this and I think I'm sweating from watching the Caps game.  Intense 3rd. God I hate the Penguins.

Good thing I'm a Blues fan at,the moment.
