***Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread : Pens raise the cup for 4th time in franchise history*** (1 Viewer)

Tough tough loss for the Isles.

Thought both hits involving Hickey were legal - complaining about the no call in OT would make me feel like a whiny Panthers fan.

They outplayed TB for most of the game - so many missed scoring opportunities. Up a goal at 3 different points of the game they just have to be better at protecting those leads - especially with 30 seconds left in the game.

Series is far from over.

Worst loss in 30 years ;)

Brutal.... Gut Punch. Sleepless. Cranky.

I'll be there Friday...

It's kind of close to being over.

Bolts have the better coach, talent, goalie and more experience winning these type of games. I would be surprised seeing this get past game 6.

That 1980s hockey movie of a coach the Islanders have was hilarious post-game. Ranting and raving about Boyle's hit, mullet flying everywhere.

He didn't bring up the hit on Drouin

Not sure I can recall a game in my life with so many horrible failures to clear the puck / giveaways - Need to play the same intensity just avoid those mistakes.

What was wrong with the hit on Drouin? Must be a FL thing complaining about the refs.

Hope they continue to pound Drouin into the ice.

The Drouin hit was legal. But like with Boyle, there was secondary contact to the head. I think Boyle's shoulder moved from Hickey's shoulder to head much quicker than Hickey's did on Drouin, so Boyle's was made to look more like direct contact. Probably due to the height difference.

I don't have any problem with it. I said it was clean. But the Boyle hit was even more legit IMO and Coach Mullet was lit after the game.

Considering Hickey's head barely reaches Boyle's shoulders I'm not sure what Boyle is supposed to do.  Maybe Hickey should wear stilt skates?

I don't have a problem with the hit.... I Question wether the play should have been stopped tho?????

Boyle has 8" and 70 lbs on Hickey - of course he's going to make contact with his head.

Waste of time complaining about the refs - don't get me started with Capuano. Wanted him gone years ago - unfortunately a first rd win over the Panthers probably bought him another 5 yrs.

For Hickey being down? Christ no. They don't blow the whistle when the other team has possession unless we're talking "goalie with no mask" type imminent danger.

I'd like to think those two guys are with Mikka Kiprusoff driving 220 kph on a lonely Canadian highway looking for some fat chicks and booze.  :banned:
Isn't that Canada's motto?     "Come to Canada, we have fat chicks and booze."

 That was a tough beat - staring at being up 2-1 with a minute left to down 2-1.  Plus Tavares has been invisible from what I watched the last two games.

If a goaltender isn't wearing a chinstrap and they have to stop play. He should be given a two minute delay of game penalty.

not directly hockey related, but it's pretty ####ty that Tampa Bay Tribune reporter Erik Erlendsson got laid off after the morning skate yesterday when his paper was bought and immediately shut down by the Tampa Bay Times.

My friend @erlendssonTBO was doing his job at the AM skate. Now he's out of a job and trying to find a flight home. Some business we're in.

seems like a quality hockey reporter from what I've seen.

Yea he's a good dude but hockey Twitter took it a little far last night saying he was stranded in NYC, with no hotel, his phone cut off and no flight home. He later tweeted that was all untrue.

Sucks he got canned while out of town working though.

The Blues impressed Vegas last night, moved to Cup favorites today at Bovada:

I hate this feeling that I currently have and it will only get worse every time the puck is in Washington's zone.
