***Official 2017 NCAA Hoops Tourney thread: Congrats UNC, all the refs from NCCG should be banned for life*** (1 Viewer)

Knew there would be a bunch of ragging in here on the NW kid from folks who didn't know he was the AD's young son and who wouldn't mention that CBS didn't have to show him.  I think a young kid, particularly one whose father is the athletic director of the team, should be entitled to get emotional about a sports game without CBS exploiting it for some reason and without a bunch of peanut gallery-types making fun of the young guy.

Reminds me of how much coaching turnover is on the way in the ACC in the next five or so seasons.
Really?  Five years is a long time but thought the ACC just had its purge. Laranagga is fine at Miami. Pastner is fine at Tech. Manning fine at Wake. Stallings just got to Pitt. Brey at ND, Bennett at UVA and Buzz at VT. Would think Brownell is good at Clemson.

Boeheim retiring and guess Williams K and even Pitino could but think the ACC is pretty stable for now.

Think he means K, Roy, Pitino, and Boeheim could all easily retire in the next few years.

Does St. Mary's have any black dudes? What's the furthest a bunch of whiteys have gone since desegregation? Fade!

Totally unrealistic but would love to see the bracket if the committee took the top team in each region and let them choose the bracket.  Then we'd know what the coaches think of Wichita, or Minnesota, or whoever else.
I'm buying whatever streaming service this is on.

Small, private, Catholic school in NOCAL.  Hell, they only have 2500 undergrads there.
I mean, they have scholarships, right? I do see a black guy on the very end of the bench. They're a bizarro D1 team. I'm all in on the Gaels. Hopefully these guys are at least Aussies.

Great game, great season for Northwestern.  Should be a serious Big Fourteen contender next season.  Heck of a coaching job by Collins.
No reason Northwestern can't be good at hoops.  They are Duke west and have one of the best recruiting bases in metro Chicago.  I can't understand why they are pretty good at football though, that has never made any sense to me.

They are.  St. Mary's has a major recruiting connection with Australia.

Must be a lot of confused Pac 12 fans right now.  That kenpom guy might be on to something here.

Ha Patty Mills is an Aussie that played at Saint Mary's.  And he's black.

Well, er, yeah.  Boeheim, K, Williams, Pitino, Larranaga and Hamilton can all be reasonably expected to step down in the next five or so years.  They're all 70+ or close.  And it's not just 6 of the 15 coaches in the league turning over soon, it's four of the most currently successful coaches in the entire sport and two others who are arguably the most or among the most successful coaches in their programs' histories.  Lots of impact there for the conference and the entire sport.

I am also interested to see whether Indiana makes a run at Bennett.  I doubt he would do that jump but it's far from impossible.

But wait, I thought we couldn't really tell anything based off one game trials?  You all seem to cherry pick games as much as anyone else.

Full extension shove in the back by Arizona....foul called on the St Mary's guy that got annihilated.

Just awful.  And at the worst time.
